@TFB122 i don't get you wrong but c'mon, this is the song that toby feel "enough" of the shit around his head, and i think punk and hardcore is about "free your mind" too, so i think toby did a great job of being honest.. What Happened just one of H2O's point of view, above all the controversies about the meaning of What Happened song, at least H2O still a sincere band, that's the core what we all need these days..
"i'm not here to criticized, but the reason i scream is a FEELING INSIDE"
@daveymagnum Agree....always been bands that were image over substance... there is a place for that nonsense I guess. People who listen to h2o and so many other good bands are interested in something different and more depth.
You guys don't understand the message of this song, it's not bitching, it's not be part of the commercial part whos trying to get a piece of hardcore scene, there's a lot of people making money from you and all the bands around. You think hardcore is about a dress code and outcasts?. No, hardcore is about resistence against the system. You can take it or leave it.
I'm afraid you've mistaken me. I know what hardcore is about. I'M not saying hardcore is about a dress code. I actually said the opposite. And yes, one ideal of punk rock is "resistance against the system," but it was also about a bunch of outlandish kids with no place else they could go to feel comfortable and free. Also, don't get me wrong, I'm well aware of people trying to capitalize on hardcore. Maybe I shouldn't have started this debate. I'm just tired of teenage cool kids....haha.
That being said, H20 is fucking awesome. Just the message behind this one song pissed me off. I do agree that a lot of bands are more about the image than the art and passion, but I mean...come on.
We don't care about fashion, so let's all look the same, and hate anyone who looks different! Are you serious? If you really don't care, then don't bitch about it. If you see a kid with a bunch of piercings, crazy "emo" hair, tight jeans (specifically, because that's what they specifically talk about), then ignore it! Fuck, that's what hardcore and punk was. Outcasts. So now it's about being the same? Fuck that. Oh, and what happened? Nothing. So don't be sad. Just go to a local show, you fucks.
Talk about completely missing the message to this song. No offense, but you completely misconstrued the message in this song, which is sad because that's exactly what Toby's talking about.
Are you serious? The message is pretty obvious. I have not missed it at all. If you listen to the album, at the end of it (minutes after this song), are a lot of people talking about H20 and whatnot, and at some point, you hear the singer of the band saying "If you flat iron your hair, you're suspect. You're questionable." I think that is fucking absurd. What does he care? I mean, he says he's not here to criticize, but everywhere other than that one verse, that's all he's doing.
Alright no offense man but if you flat iron your hair and you're a dude, then you probably have issues as it is. That's what transexuals do. Argue it until you're dead, but fags do that shit. So. Your best bet is to just not even respond to this.
Haha, wow. You, minty mohawk, are a moron. And you can also go fuck yourself. I'm amazed at how naive you stupid fucking people are. If you flat iron you hair, you have issues? Are you kidding me? If you fucking put your hair up in a mohawk, you're perpetuating a stupid fucking stereotype that I believe H20 is also talking about. Fucking cunts.
He also asks "why does everybody look the same?" I've been to countless hardcore and punk shows and asked myself the same question!! And not about guys wearing "mascara and drain pipe jeans," but because they all have crew cuts, H20 t-shirts, cut off dickies shorts, and Nikes. Trust me, I think I know exactly what he has to say, and although I wasn't alive nor into hardcore 25 years ago, my take on this song has a great deal of validity. And my complaint is NOT at all what Toby's talking about.
THAT LOOKS LIKE THE MOST AMAZING CONCERT. LIKE 30 PEOPLE IN A MOSH PIT JUMPING ON EACH OTHER AND THE BAND YELLING AT THEM.
I would kill to go. XD
