one thing I can say about ROC is it was city with a soul, alot of people I meet including myself are proud of the fact we lived in the ROC. I heard one dude say bullshead was the center of the universe. I liked working in the clinton joseph ave d area. loved the food, sals is gone, is nathans soup still on park? nicks is around , not the same anymore. Abbots. Mr shoes, portafinos. south end fest cobb hill, the high falls. Great city, too bad my job didnt pay well forcing me to move.

It looks like a Sunday morn in early November, very little auto traffic downtown and few people out and about. Typical Amtrac view: industrial and commercial "backyards" with a few old industrial buildings from the 19th century still standing. I lived near here, good town overall, better then most.

I've never set foot in the place but 40 years ago while in the Navy I had a friend from Rochester. He was a good guy. Why do people that live in Albany hate their own town? I have a video out here of a trip to Albany.  Many many negative comments about that place. Seemed nice to me just riding around.

I worked there in 1979 when it was Rochester Instrument Systems. We used to look out the 3rd floor cafeteria window and watch them unload the Elephants off the train when the Shrine Circus was in town.

That building that looks like it has a UFO on top is actually a restaurant that revolves. The city is spending 300 million on a new transportation center and many millions more on a new high rise. So things are changing.

No city looks good from a train. Yes, the train is definitely going east. I live in Rochester and have never lived far enough from the tracks where I couldn't hear the whistle and the rumble of the trains during the night. We used to have a glorious train station, but it was torn down and now we have a piece of concrete.
