  • Hey Eric! It's your sister Stephanie! ;)

  • Thanks, I got 32 channels!! But I modded it to get 46 what I did was , I took a coat hangar, cut it in half, then scraped out all of the insolation, I then duct taped it into the can and then the same with the other half, and where I live I got 14 more channels.

  • Can u tell us how to make that bandaid on your finger

  • i see your mom

  • @ nobsaroundhere the tune is kaycee 'escape' additive records.

  • why don't you just bye a tv antenna

  • do the other channels work?

  • hey man thanks this really worked thank you

  • Crap music. This is an explanation

  • wow spent all that time to to make 4 bay bowtie antenna with 4db gain

  • i love antenna

  • If I use a 50 gallon barrel will it work better?

  • @DavisHusbandsVids

    Lol,,,,That was funny

  • @DavisHusbandsVids looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • LOL, I pick up 12 channels on a dipole antenna, which is the same as just a strand of wire.

  • hey the music at the beginning is some kind of trance or techno song but i dont remember the name can you please tell me? thanks

  • "All yer gonna need for this hack is a COCK-seal cable..."

    It's coaxial. CO-AXial.

  • @WhiteSpyder170 YES, I always keep a cock-seal cable in my wallet : )

  • @WhiteSpyder170 lolz i thought he said cocktail cable :/

  • That antenns is crap. I could not pick up and signals! :(

  • Best indoor antenna?

  • I actually gave Eric a piece of lint and a paper clip once and he built me an aircraft carrier with it.

  • You will get just as good a signal with just the wire, and probably better. That is not an antenna, it's a can with a wire nailed to it. Use the can to collect some worms for fishing.

  • @RubiTrack I agree. But perhaps if he measured up from the bottom (not sure how to tune for hdtv), and put the solid core through the hole, and grounded to the outside of the can, maybe?

  • hahaha mini antenna tv but he is work now but the other channel is works too!

  • Intresting will try

  • this sucksss it doesn't work!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Gearsofmontes it do work lol

    i made one

  • Hi,

I am sorry but this is not how antennas works. You can get TV through a piece of metal but not as many as if it was a tuned antenna. In your antenna and cable, there are invisible effect like SWR.

You can try to build a dipole if you like radio frequency.

You also should consider studying in telecommunications.

  • hey kid, very nice video and dont lesten those fools thislike this video just keep it up because you are going so far and bilieve yourself, nobody has to tell you what you are going to do, screw them cuz you got talent.

  • Co-ax-e-uhl, not coxial

  • HAY !!. FAIR PLAY KID...IT WORKS A TREAT

  • this is pretty sick, but I am only picking up one channel. BUt I am nor sure if my TV converts to digital or not.

  • yea why all the haters, you all ended up here somehow, because you were interested. this person interested you, so dont hate. im gonna try it, thanks!

  • @yesmaam090 did your homemade digital tv antenna work? tell me.

  • Girls can do it too see my video...but needed man's assistance!

  • Imagine if you used a 40 gallon oil drum instead of a coffee can? You'd probably pick up the Peking Evening News!

  • Back to kichen!!

  • And i like it that these young people make videos like this, How you think some of the people on them paid commercials are getting there new products?

Its by watching these little videos, they give the ideas to others to make products and sell it. How you think most ideas people sell happen? Its by these videos of young people doing experments like this.

And to you rich people who hates on these kind of videos, Go bite yourself, Why spend thousands on a cable when most just want their locals

  • Thank u it really works!!!

  • Sorry mate, can't hear you through all the techno stuff! Do you wrap both co-ax wires around the nail? Is that the idea? If so and it works that great? Good for you for inventing this. Cheers for now. I have a little hand-tv that tells me transmission signals are too weak so one of these is exactly what I need.

  • you lozers this is so stupid when you make it shit in the can and hook it up to ur tv and youll get free sattelite tv

  • You forgot to include a band aid in the parts list- just kidding, friend.

Easy, effective hack! Thanks for sharing!

  • thank u sooo minez work but i scared cause i didn't use duct tape or electrical tape just tha regular brown tape

  • Why all the haters? Thanks for the video!

  • If you have a 1500 dollar TV, you have enough money to get cable TV.

  • @pedrousa21 LOL Yeah, except cable TV is shithouse. Totally not worth half what they charge for it in Australia, & the free-to-air digital stations have no more ad breaks then cable, the programs are just as good & repeated less, & there's more & better Australian content. The best stations by far, but in rapid decline thanks to right-wing, conservative, parasite capitalists and their zombies, are SBS & the ABC. But the Liberal party, the IPA & the Murdochracy will see then both ruined soon :(

  • jajajaj she fuck off her finger jejej

  • Bad Finger, just had to punish it, oww

  • I think this is awesome!

  • dose it matter how big the can is?

  • @Bamazrollin I think the real dumbass is the one complaining about how it looks on his supposed amazing tv and then saying hes to poor to buy a real one... you job. You fail at life and everyone hates on you this video!

  • ow it works with a coax cable but my reception is bad

  • is it a coax cable?

  • awesome i never see it before... a mean the way that you put the band on your finger wow this is amazing. as the dog said, wooow wow wow.

  • dude worst music ever.

  • my penis hurts

  • @mypalrocco thats nice...

  • @Spike20TRILLION just a standard coaxial cable

  • hey,whats the CAble??

  • @ClusterStormable it connects the cantenna to the tv/cbv

  • red neck antenna

  • it doesnt work

  • Can't w8 2 c all the neg. comment's on that last one! sorry GOD didn't make me as smart n perfect as you...I love these ppl. that are so smart ! so why are they watching these vid's.?...sorry gonna try this though(I broke our's)...but use something different..also I THINK I heard it work's best if you use aluminum (better conductor) and mount it to something metal w/ a good ground? I hope I'm right cuz that's what I want to try(again) and I hope some1 understand's n comment's back soon! thanx

  • Wow! these comment's are annoying & confusing! ppl. don't try hard enough w/ such a simple concept! I broke my"rabbitear's" so wanted to see if I could STILL do this(make my own)...of course it's gonna work...we used to do this w/ our c.b.'s n analog tv's back in the day...I wanna" say almost anything metal would work?..what the guy said about the chain link fence I have done beforen a fence also is a gr8 ground!

1: I'm not sure what Cock Seal connector means, but it sounds painful

    2: Digital Static? really?

  • @mattsbanned a Coaxial cable is just a regular tv cable that goes from your tv to the antenna point on your wall.

  • what is the song called?

  • woks

  • i have a question you said cockseal so how to i seal the cock can you make a video on that HAAAA

  • where can i find a cockseal cable?

  • @iverjordan23 A coaxial cable can be found at electronic stores, like Meijer, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Costco, etc.

  • Are you Dumb in your Mouth or something WTF is this ?

  • hi make sure the sheilding isnt touching the conductor part of the coax

  • i wanted to try this to get MORE channels, currently i am using just that black cord you have there as an antenna....but i dont want to destroy it by stripping it and the end, and then for this makeshift antenna not to work..... if that makes sense....

  • i didn't work for me, i used a soda can and a nut did the same thing but i got the same amount of channels..... am i doing something wrong?

  • cock tail connecter

  • @MrEpicZon lol she said COCKSEAL cable haha XD

  • @tazbo28 oh its a girl

  • Nice job I can tell what happen to to finger.

    U can't hammer for shit

  • @TheRickyice1 lmao at these comments..ahaha

  • @TheRickyice1 and you can tell why hes making an antenna too... hes too poor to get a real cast....

  • @TheRickyice1 To prevent from pounding fingers with hammer hold nail with pliers or some other device so if you slip you only hit pliers or whatever insteads of hitting fingers.

  • A bandaged finger?

    Get a stunt double.

  • Comment removed

  • @Bamazrollin lol. true dat. but still. simple design.

  • @Bamazrollin lmao

  • @Bamazrollin Sell your $1500 TV for a few years of basic cable on a $15 tube.

  • @Bamazrollin IMO you shouldve bought a $500 dollar t.v. and spent $1000 on internet service, netflix for a year and a wii to play it on the t.v. and watch the documentary collapse.

  • @Bamazrollin lol!

  • @Bamazrollin YOu spent $1500 on a TV? Dumb shit

  • Comment removed

  • @telesniper2 lol im assuming your tv is a piece of shit

  • @Bamazrollin well i dont care how it looks this is awsome better than 100 dollar cool looking antenna

  • @Bamazrollin If you bought a 1500 tv then you should be totally fine spending $100 on a "Nice sexy" HD one...

Wait if you have a 1500 tv why don't you have sattelite, or cable... IMO your acutally poor and just don't wanna admit it! (nod)

  • Comment removed

  • @Bamazrollin Well then you should be able to fine making a perfectly good take shift antenna. Otherwise don't complain about it asshat

  • Comment removed

  • @Bamazrollin if you have a $1,500 TV why would you skimp out on a Digital TV Antenna made of a coffee can? lol

  • Comment removed

  • @Bamazrollin all good im just razzing ya I have cable but the guy next door has a small antenna been looking on here to see if he can get a better picture ..8 channels and there all fuzzy

  • @Bamazrollin lol u could paint it or like.... put some flowers in it XD

  • @Bamazrollin dumb ass...

  • the music is far too distracting to watch this vid

  • dude wtf its not a cocksial cable its a fucking coaxial cable god fucking retard

  • thanks so much! I tried this and no TV static! It's like Cable! Better than professional Ones! Thanks! I can't thank you enough!

  • i HATE your voice

  • did not work with an hd 62" flat screen tv

    only with converter box

  • do u have to have a converter box?

  • @iPodTouchMaster57 Yes, Because Analog is gone, It will work straight from your Digital TV, I'm not sure if this would Receive VHF, though As it requires a more Complex Antenna

  • hahah thats ghetto as hell!!!

  • i definitely could have gone without the annoying music

  • Hi Eric, I have a tin with lot of holes...it would be for drying knives forkes and spoons...is it good the same or I have to use a tin without holes?

Can I directly attach the antenna cable to it or the nail in the middle is functional for the antenna?

    Thank you

  • you really need to shink on ur designs they suck :P

  • its just a regular antenna its not digital the converter box does the job

  • Worked like a charm, thx! WNBC in NY has two digital channels in addition to the main one and those come in as well.

  • This is the instructions for building a finger .

  • ur better off takin the coax and hooking it to the chain link fence outside, wat a joke

  • @houghk240 OMG Genius! Works like a charm!

  • @houghk240 YOU WOULD GET A BETTER SIGNAL OFF THE CHAINLINK FENCE WHAT A TURD !!!!!!!! HES GOT THE TV HOOKED TO SOMETHING ELSE

  • noob

  • This guy is a fake why use a tin? Wouldn't a bird cage be better

Only Foxtel antenas pick up foxtel broadcasts for a start, digital free to air ranges in frequency from 170 MHz up to 800+MHz, this tin crap thing wouldn't have any bandwidth or gain whatsoever!

I tell you what this joker did very well to demonstrate this idiotic no-brainer without cracking up laughing!!

  • Thank you so much !!!!!!!! It worked perfectly !

  • bullshit.

  • @grekodave BULL SHIT IS RIGHT I CANT BELEIVE SOME OF THESE PEOPLE THESE DAYS $#@^#$@%$@%$#@$% UUGGGGGHHHHH

  • THE CONVERTER CHANGES IT FROM ANALOG TO DIGITAL, NOT THE ANTENNA.

  • does this work in sweden

  • tried it, didn't work for me.

  • I tried this out tonight and it works perfect!!!! I used a screw, didn't need the duck tape.

    Thanks...

    San Diego

  • 'NOT TRUE.....I make that and COMPLETE NOT SIGNALS."

Make a real probe to make that.

You cot the video on connection of TV.

You need make the video again.

  • Your other analog antenna I made and that gets me digital channels anyway!

  • haha coxial

  • Thanks buddy. I was looking for a quick and free option. Worked like a charm. For those having issues, try turning the can over, punching another hole in the bottom (now the top) and thread an unwound wire coat hanger through the hole. Then you can rotate the exposed portion around to increase your reception. I gained another ten or so channels that way, And the ones that were choppy became crystal clear.

  • is the cable for the analogue tv??

  • @RPGx99 yer use a male part, cut off the end and wrap it around

  • Man, I spent all evening looking at YouTube vids on how to make a digital antenna. They ranged firm very complicated to "too good to be true" you vid ranked there, but it would only take me 5 minutes and it's the only how to that I had all the items. Man, I was amazed, when I scanned my channels I had over 45 digital and HD over the air and the reception was excellent. I just out my satellite on hold as an experiment, using Boxee tv, hulu and Netflix streaming to get total online or local my p

  • i have that kind of box

  • Tried it but it didn't work for did it work for anyone else? I plug it into my Digital tv do you need the converter box ?Cause I think it's a pretty cool DIY

  • how well does this antenna work and at how far off the ground does it need to be?

  • digital static?

  • @TheSecondRandomGuy rofl true, there is no static with digital. there can be broken signal though, i think thats what he meant though ^^

  • this dose not work i tested it and i got no signal at all.

  • Do you think it will work better with many nails

  • Wow. Thank you so much. This really works. I don't have a coffee can, but my can of fruit worked.

  • @NiqueyBlog really?? does the fruit increase the reception or...???

    lol

  • This works!!!!!! I had everything in my house!!! Only channels 2-13 (NYC) but for free can't beat it!!!! And 720 P!!!!!

  • Excellent video. It took me about 3 minutes to make one of these tonight, and it works perfectly. Thanks!

  • K, so do you attach the shield around the copper wiring also to the can or just the copper?

  • Can someone please tell me what a "cocktail" cable is???????

  • @TUBEDOUGH he said "coaxial" cable its used as a transmission line. It should say it on the back of you tv next to a port. You can find it any electronics store.

  • @TUBEDOUGH I think he meant coaxial cable.

  • So you took the "cocktail" cable??? shorted the shield to the signal lead???, and shorted this to the "dish" aka soupcan???. Sorry, but I think you are really out of your element here. If you received anything it was probably from a transmitter less than 3 miles away.

  • It works, but not as well as my regular antenna

  • That was amazing. It seemed so unlikely (but so easy to try that I made it anyway) and it performed better than the shop offerings for indoor aerials (the ones I tried were amplified units costing 40 to 50 Euros each) and so much more interesting! I've got it picking up Spanish TDT right now - and it sees every channel in my area. Congrats and thanks.

  • I'll give it a try. Thanks.

  • your antenna is crap.

  • Works great! Digital signal, both Hi-Def and Std-Def come in perfectly with this simple antenna on my Digital-tuner-equipped HDTV. Thanks!

  • seem's same for wifi

  • It can't have very much signal strength...

  • need some of ur trick on my website

  • this no more makes a TV antenna then I can shape my poo poo into tasty candy bars!

  • music or speak no both

  • DJ Tiesto!!!!!

  • Piss the music off dude it will be far better

  • fucking shite. id b better off tying a piece of poo to a string and using it as a kite.

  • @amy2985 Fuckinf A bro

  • Dude, this doesn't work

  • you use a coax because it can then be screwed in the tv or digitals converters coax port. That nail still had its coating on it too I suspect it might work even better if you used a metal file to score the part of nail that has contact with the coax wire. Also have you tried taking the label off? Good idea for a simple antenna though

  • do you need a cocktail cable or can you use a normal cable?

  • @SegaSunnyD its coaxial and it does need to be one!

(hint: its the same cable end from a regular store bought tv antenna!)

  • cockxial cable xD

    i'm gonna try this today

  • think i'm gonna try that tomorrow lols ! question do i need in safety gear lols...or did you injure your thumb else where
