The only RPG I had ever played until about three or four years ago. I feel special owning the original cartridge since '95. I love how simple they made this game and its overall charming presentation.

How could I possibly forget being at Wal-Mart in 1995, getting this oversized box with a game called "Earthbound" in it. A players guide, and scratch'n'sniff cards in the back which were weird and awesome at the same time.

This game took many hours of my life, and many others as well. Its not strange that so many die-hard fans want it resurrected on the Virtual Console. Sadly though, Nintendo no longer expresses interest in Virtual Console. Too bad the service will get cancelled soon.

As silly as this soundtrack is, it's my all-time favorite game soundtrack...not so much for particular individual songs (FF3, Chrono Trigger and DW4 and others had songs better than anything on Earthbound), BUT the overall soundtrack is just so damn unique and likable that it can't be beat. It's like they really tried to get about as many music styles into it and nothing they did sucked - was all pretty good and funky and their slower songs were sweet.

Hehe, I remember the first time seeing this game in person, and playing it with my friend who had it. We both defended the game's quality against another friend who said it looked crappy.

The times when I took the scratch and sniff stickers out of a Nintendo Power magazine and kept them with me wherever I went.

Renting the game several times, buying my own copy, twice, very happily. Gave 1 to a friend, and I still own the other.

Earthbound was an experience, not just a game. Miss those days.

Don't count on it. There's a ton of legal issues in EarthBound. Your best bet is to either get it on the SNES, or emulate.

Class little game. I think it is still the only RPG that had an awesome combat feature. When you had a battle with someone weaker than you, you automatically won and received the experience. Xbox 360 live arcade please...along with all the Mana Rpg's, Shadowrun (SNES), All the Thunderforce games.....

Also, I personally never played this one, so those situations are always trickier to pick the right tracks, as some become more memorable as you play. That, and the fact that this game has a bajillion tracks. It's ridiculous.
