8 as talos worship is now outlawed due to the Thalmor and imperials "alliance" but you probably found that out by now. And you can now remove the markers by going in settings in the menu. I got rid of that crappy hovering marker so annoying.
How funny would it be, if after you've created your character and put your head on the block, it would get chopped off and a "Game Over" would pop up followed by a thank you for playing Skyrim : )
Being a Breton means you get access to a third starting spell for the school of Conjuration. Conjure Familiar is a Novice Summon Spell that grants the user a ghost-like Wolf companion for 60 seconds. This could prove useful for you Gix, especially if in the middle of a close quarters fight.
All races start with Flames and Healing (novice) Spells in case you aren't aware.
He does not use subtitles because he rather speak back to npcs, subtitles enables him to read forward before the NPCs finish what they are saying, which causes him to click forward on their dialogue. Its a roleplay thing
if u wan't to know what happen to the nine, it's only eight now, becouse Talos were outlawed when the highelves attacked the empire, and the only peace agreement the elves would accept, were that the empire outlawed worshiping of Talos, and that the elves could send the thalmor (a group of elves wandering around, looking for Talos worshippers) to the empire, and let them roam arround freely

The Nords worshiped him as a god, and he was considered a part of the 9 divines. The Stormcloaks consist of Talos worshippers (mainly Nords) who're fighting the empire for a number of reason, but the main one being the issue with Talos.
@Dirtypotatoeater Sorry I didn't mean to sound like a jackass. I thought the Empire banned worship because it was one of the conditions of the peace treaty with the Elves after a war. I'm not saying it's not one of the reason's but I didn't think it was the one of the main ones.
Mark my words: You're gonna die a lot. I'm playing a Warrior (Dual-Wield, Light Armor), and I had to reach my current level (20+) in order to stop dying in nearly every combat :(
This game is DIFFICULT, I assure you...and that's also why I simply love it. The sense of accomplishment after surviving all of that and now being pretty badass is amazing (although I still get my ass kicked sometimes...).

@8ycorn I think I can answer that one for him. He does not put subtitles on his videos because it would ruin the atmosphere while in game and he would prefer to actually feel like he was there. So if he saw a subtitle pop up it would remind him that he was playing a game. I hope this helped.

@aron065 If you want me to give you some lore... the emperor was forced to sign the 'White Gold Concordet' to restore the peace between the elven Aldmeri Dominion and the Empire. The Aldmeri dominion have since become a very, very powerful force, blackmailing the empire into doing things they wouldn't necessarily do of their own accord. This is not a spoiler as it is the backstory between Oblivion & Skyrim, and isn't part of the plot of any Skyrim quests - it's not revealed there in any case.
i think i found one of the most beautiful environments in Skyrim if you want to see it it is my Channel background it also shows my Khajiit Sniper at a low lvl
gix, some tips I would like to share for you. 1. Please turn on subtitles. 2. The chicken is a Lie. 3. You should play on Master, the game get easier as you progress. 4. Smithing is your friend. 5.Try hard to finish a quest before getting another, if you decide to "oh I'll do this one later" you will be over-whelmed with quests later.
@NasgaX I think Expert is pretty balanced in the fun/challenge ratio, although Master difficulty in the 1st playthough must be pretty ego-booster :D But personally I prefer to reserve it for the second and forward.
@Dovakhan On master, once you get past level 30/35, the game becomes too easy its boring. Even on master I still 2 shot everything. For the blood dragons I can kill in 6 hits, and I am only 1h sword/shield. The main problem with this game is that early in the game it's a little too hard (getting 1 shotted by boss) and takes like 30-40 hits, and later in the game its WAY TOO EASY. So if you want to have any challenge at all in this game, it's to play on Master before it becomes not challenging.
@NasgaX Well, I've just changed to Master (lvl 21 currently). The game was already getting less difficult, so it should boost the thrill. So far I've cleared 2 small dungeons without many problems (only died once while fighting a boss-level NPC, and it was mostly my fault).
I think Bethesda got the complaints about Oblivion' level scaling making your char's progress seem like nothing (because enemies levelled up with you), but I think this time they overdid it a bit...
@NasgaX sorry mate I meant no offence I just think people shouls let them play the games without giving all the things theyve learned. The subtitles advice was fair play though. As for there being something wrong with me... yeah quite probably!
@NasgaX 5. Not everyone plays like a completionist who picks up every dumb FedEx they find and grind them all out. Gix roleplays, he won't have that problem.
I'm playing it right now on a "mid-end" computer, and it looks amazing. Much better than on my friends xbox, but in the end: it looks great on whatever you play it on imo.

Gix. Why expert difficulty? Skyrim is a harsh land. Playing at this difficulty would be absolutely painstaking. Skyrim is not a good place for a thief to be either, but I guess thats what makes roleplaying so enjoyable, but.....WHY EXPERT!!!???!?
Subtitles help quite a bit in understanding everything people say around you. I know it takes away from immersion a bit. but sometimes it really helps to be able to read as well as hear.

The 9th divine is Tiber Septim aka Talos. The Aldmeri Dominion forced The Empire to outlaw worship of him. Talos was of Nordic descent and many Nords, in particular the Stormcloaks, still worship him (notice the Stormcloak responding "for the love of Talos").
@lazy1337genius He destroyed the original Aldmeri Dominion (and conquered all of Tamriel) using the Dwemer golem Numidium (essentially an artificial god, similar to the one built by Dagoth Ur in Morrowind).

Gix. Why expert difficulty? Skyrim is a harsh land. Playing at this difficulty would be absolutely painstaking. Skyrim is not a good place for a thief to be either, but I guess thats what makes roleplaying so enjoyable, but.....WHY EXPERT!!!???!?

Subtitles help quite a bit in understanding everything people say around you. I know it takes away from immersion a bit. but sometimes it really helps to be able to read as well as hear.

Hey gix, what kind of computer are you running? I remember you mentioning something about a macbook pro with bootcamp during your morrowind series, but I have no idea how that would run this.... I have no consoles so it would be great if I could somehow run this on my mac. Also, heard you're from montreal, BIGGUP MTL!

It seems like, to me, that they've changed the sliders to not be so drastic so you can't create (Or mess up) a character that is completely strange and alien looking. Correct me if I'm wrong

It's illegal to worship Talos now, so they're now the 8 devines. Sometimes reffered to as the 8 and 1.

The 9th divine is Tiber Septim aka Talos. The Aldmeri Dominion forced The Empire to outlaw worship of him. Talos was of Nordic descent and many Nords, in particular the Stormcloaks, still worship him (notice the Stormcloak responding "for the love of Talos").

@h3rteby and the stormcloak "Headquarters" (Windhelm) is the only city where worpship of Talos os Prohibited.

@lazy1337genius He destroyed the original Aldmeri Dominion (and conquered all of Tamriel) using the Dwemer golem Numidium (essentially an artificial god, similar to the one built by Dagoth Ur in Morrowind).

That's not quite it. Worship of Talos was outlawed by the aldmeri dominion after the treaty between them and the empire was signed.
