This song fits this anime so incredibly well...DRRR really has a unique feel to the way the plot flows and the characters interact, and the spirit of this song echoes it beautifully. (Also, someone needs to start publishing Japanese light novels in quantity. I know I would sure buy them...they're sure more space-efficient than manga...)

It's really sad. In the novel (which continue from the anime) the three of them only end up drifting further apart.

Mikado starts to isolate himself, and Anri actually starts to develop genuine feelings for him but can't act on them because those emotions are causing Saika to go haywire.

It's a very...frustrating situation.

@mtijger The anime is actually based on a series of novels done by Ryohgo Narita (the anime covers volumes 1-3). They aren't officially released in the states as of yet but you can read them on Anni-festa's live journal account. She has volumes 4, 5, 6, and 9 fully translated while volumes 7 and 8 are only partially translated. Just google anni-festa or "The Verbose Playground" and you should find it.

It's a action-y series with mystery and comedy, telling the story from each important character's perceptive, weaving all their lives and stories into one, resulting in solving the mystery of the missing Mika Harima, the headless rider, gang wars, a demon blade, etc. It's really interesting and entertaining. Nothing I would say that's above PG-13.
