That's what majority of Sitcoms were. Lower Middle class ones anyway. They were tending towards belittling the middle class father and making the children smarter. Notice though for upper class sitcoms, the wives are the docile and constantly are belittled while the father is "always right".

@runfo1: For all we know, Ms. Pennypacker changed her name & hair color, as Ms. Pennypacker & Ms. Marpole from the second Goofy Movie are similar. Goofy did have a wife & another son called Junior in the 60's, but Junior grew up & moved away--becoming forgotten--& the Mrs. died. But before she did, she must've been alive to have Max, but since she died & he was so young, Max can't remember her or his older brother who suffered from "Chuck Cunningham" syndrome.

@TherealRNO: The cartoons with the Mrs. and Junior exist, but the idea of Junior moving away is my hypothesis, since the Mrs. and Junior quickly disappeared, leaving Goofy alone again until this series introduced us to Max.

@TherealRNO Well that may change with Epic Mickey, they may bring the Mrs. and Junior back in that game conosidering the whole concept of wasteland is about forgotten Disney characters being sent to live in the Cartoon Wasteland but I can't make any promises that they will show up we'll just have to wait and see if they do show up as it would be nice to see Goofy's old family members that were around long before Max appear again.
