  • thank god the stripes got a hold of this song

  • Sounds like a shitty rip-off of the The Horrors' song of the same name. Rubbish.

  • @DoIphZiggler You're wrong. That was a cover this was the original.

  • @DoIphZiggler you're an idiot.

  • @DoIphZiggler Are you retarded?

  • @DoIphZiggler *facepalm* You realize this was recorded in the 60s, right? The Horrors covered it.

  • @DoIphZiggler theres was once a guy called Joe Meek, he was like Mark Ronson of the 60s, he made this , he was the alchemist of British rock. everything you hear today is in some way influenced by him, there history lesson over.

  • If he were black, original, and good, his name would be Screamin' Jay.

  • screaming lord sutch was my 5th cousin lol ;)

  • Screaming Lord Sutch forgot to flush the toilet at the gents at a pub I frequented... wot? this isnt a reminiscing place?

  • Your getting some strange comments on here ? If you want the true story about David Screaming Lord Sutch, go to my web-site colindaleradiosutch All will be revealed. David Sutch and I grew up together, in Charteris Road, Kilburn, London, NW6. We went to the same school, Salusbury Road Kilburn, from the age of 5 years old. I worked with him, and for him for several years. We both used to sing at the 2 Is coffee bar 59, Old Compton Steet, Soho. London. Regards, colindaleradiosutch

  • I'm fucking into this now

  • Very cool!

  • @chicklo : actualy i think if you do a little more research you'll uncover the truth to his passing. which was nothing even close to shooting himself. as i was a very close friend to see things writen like this greatly upsets me.

  • THE HORRORS VERSION IS SO MUCH FUCKING BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @AiMuiNoodle YEAH BUT THIS ONE IS FUCKING COOL TOO, BUT I AGREE THE HORRORS ARE BETTER!

  • @MurkyTheParasite yea :) the gruesome's version is good too

  • WHERE'S THE FUCKING SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!?

  • Great upload, David and I were boyhood pals in Kilburn, London NW6. I worked for David for 3 great years as compere, disc jockey and singer - really miss the guy. Colin Dale, Radio Sutch

  • @colindaleradiosutch That's very interesting. Thanks for posting your comments.

  • rip

  • Went too see him him late 70s great show at Hucknall alldayer

  • "His little black bag,& his one track mind"......;]

  • Pity there's a bit missing at the start - but congrats on finding THIS. I saw it on a "soundie" video jukebox in '63. I then SAW the great man twice, in the '70s. First at the Wembley Rock 'N' Roll concert, then at "Flashback '67" - where he nearly burned the hotel down! The man was a god.

  • Jack The Ripper, is not just a novelty...he represents the hatred of women, by men. Anybody that uses the name is an asshole

  • @claudeIsbell Lord Sutch isn't an asshole he's AWESOME

  • Screaming Lord Sutch stabbed my mom in a bar fight.

  • @Syntox lucky you're here today right

  • THE LORD HAS RISEN FROM THE DEAD!!! Follow him @Lord_Sutch on twitter.

  • screaming lord sutch is my godfather

  • I saw Screaming Lord Sutch around 1974 or '75. It was at the Bijou theater, in Hollywood, about 20 feet west of Grauman's Chinese Theater. The place only sat about 30 people and played old movies, exclusively. I went there a bunch of times and saw some great movies. Sutch performed by himself, singing and playing an electric guitar, between showings of "Don't Knock the Rock" and "Rock Around the Clock." He sang 50's songs and jumped around like Tinker Bell on speed.

  • my stage name is ben sutch

  • Such a good song, I love The White Stripes cover of this song as well. Without them I would have never found out about this song!

  • you couldnt tell he`s a serial killer "a crazy old man" Pyschopath. .he looks normal . .

  • I want to see some go-go girls dancing to this song.

  • @Sid1Vicious84 - xD

  • I once played in The Savages

  • Seriously cannot get enough of this song.

  • General election coming up. Oh dear, Screaming Lord Sutch, where are you now your country needs you?

  • @PontiusKak i believe he got shot...

  • @Chicklo11

    He hung himself

  • @PontiusKak In-fact, suffering from depression in 1997, at the death of his mother he shot himself with a former band member's shotgun. Britain's best ever politician.

  • @Grammarism 'Britain's best ever politician'. Amen to that! Killed off the SDP, Europe's longest-serving party leader and put an end to the 'political' career of Dr. Death.

    RIP

  • ha ha blackmores the ripper he looks scary in this video

  • Wonderful. I'm a huge Meek / Sutch fan, but not seen this before. thanks.

  • Why do legitimate comments like this keep getting marked as spam?

  • seen him live bril he was GREAT

  • @maltabazzz I agree he was a brilliant performer

  • Yeah, he was a great showman.

I met him a couple of times- he was a really nice bloke too.

  • is on this record Richie Blackmore on the guitar

  • yes like on some of the Gene Vincent BBC recordings. Blackmore was lead guitarist in the outlaws at this time

  • takes me back and I now feel old

  • to adamkkkkk-the actor johnny depp in makeup would make a great likeness for a lord sutch portrayal for a movie on his life if it were possible-please respond

  • Too late, Justin Hawkins from The Darkness is playing him.

  • in a movie? when does it come out?

  • creepy guy *the real Jack*....awesome costume....enough said =D

  • there's a short story, "dead air" by barbara hambley, about lord sutch being the ripper reincarnate. for years i thought that screaming lord sutch was a fictitous character. the jovial nature of this video, makes it almost a companion-piece for that story.

all that remains is a clip by the baker street irregulars i sppose...

  • i just couldnt get into this song

  • Screaming Lord Sutch was my second cousin

    (my dad's cousin).

  • NICE!

  • ... and Hitler is my son.

  • I'm not joking!

  • Well, if that's true its kinda cool :D

  • you must be pretty old if Hitler is your son.

  • He means "Arnulf Hitler".. that´s my poolboy ^^

  • @Silverdart00 He's your 1st cousing once removed then. If he is your dad's first cousin. Lord Sutch's kids would be your second cousins.

  • @Silverdart00 really?

  • @Silverdart00 That's interesting, anyway The Monster Raving Looney Party is probably the only party worth voting for, the thing is i find it hard to vote for them, i did ask them how can i vote for you and when i went to the ballot to vote, a box for who i want to vote for is never there! I think we are under the illusion of a democracy here in the UK.

  • I'd have voted for him.

  • Where's the intro? The Intro's the best bit!

  • i'm sorry. call me uncultured...but that sucked.

  • now your right monster mash is much better this sucks

  • But you've got to love him outfit.

  • Aww, this is entertainment masterclass...

  • my last name is sutch:P

  • Awesome.......

  • loving catchy songs about murder~~~

  • Not Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar....

This is from an interview with him... Who do you think was the first fuzz solo?

RB-I've been on the scene for so long. Therefore, I knew pretty well who played om what and when and so on. The first fuzz-box ever used on a guitar for a recorded solo was used by the Rip Chords about 1957. The first fuzz-box solo ever played in England was by a guy named Bernie Watson, on a record in 1960 called "Jack the Ripper," by Sreaming Lord Sutch. It was a B side.

  • Thanks!! Awesome!!

  • Jack White is a pretentious lame poser !!

    Jack the Poser

    Jack the Poser !!

The White Stripes are the most boring band in the world live, I'd rather sit through a Stryper concert. He needed Loretta Lynn to resurrect his career. Total big label madison avenue fluff !!!

  • Geezus...

  • god, you're a fag. stryper is awesome

  • You my sir fail in life

  • Say it in Spanish, it's funnier: NO SABES NADA DE LA VIDA!

  • resurrect his career??? he was comin off one of the biggest albums in recent memory, douchebag. He produced that cuz he's a huge fan. If he wins or is nominated for a grammy every year....when was his career down??? you have no idea what you're talking about. Think a few seconds before you say idiotic things

  • I guess I don't keep track enough of Corporate Madison Ave Fluff bands like some stupid groupie. He was nominated for grammies? He must be great, after all, so was Clay Aikins & Garth Brookes etc, etc. The Shite Wipes is by far the weakest most boring live band ever ! Not to mention PRETENTIOUS !

In 10 years they will have the musical relevance of Ugly Kid Joe. Just close your eyes & think of England mate !

  • Geez, of course Grammys don't make an artist, but Jack White will be around for a long time, the guy's an artist, like it or not. Comparing him to Ugly Kid Joe and Clay Aikin just makes no sense. Open your mind a little.

  • ya. douches get nominated for grammys. My point is his career was never down. He's more talented than most

  • or maybe the relevance of the tight ends

  • R. Blackmore (Deep Purple) is lead guitar in this song????

  • yep, thats true.

    Ritchie is a living legend.

  • I love this song ,thanks for putting this up never saw the video till now .Peace

  • Another masterpiece from Telstar troubled genius Joe Meek. He shot himself, you know. (And his landlady.)

  • The Horrors' version sucks, Original and White Stripes version are the best

  • hell no the horrors add a better organ

  • where the fuck is alice cooper wen you need him

  • Eventhough I'm not very fond of the clip,

    music is nice...

    smiles :-)

  • the horrors version is amzing if you like this song go listen to the horrors version both studio recording and live

  • Nah!! Screaming Lord Sutch and The Savages are so much better! No one can beat Sutch!

  • Bit of a disco remix!

Hah i doubt many studios allow their performers to stagger around with a knife like that anymore.

  • ritchie Blackmore on guitar

  • is that even true?

  • yes Ritchie blackmore was the lead guitar of the Outlaws an english bans who backed also Gene Vincent during english tours and German dates at the Star Club of Hambourg. you can hear Gene with the outlaws on the rockstar cd Bluejean bop.

  • Always wondered what this would sound like. Pretty much as I hoped, like 'Murder In The Graveyard. Maybe in bad taste, but the song is just amazing. 5*****

  • can you beleive that his record was rated worse record in britain twice in two different polls? lol, guess not everyone likes songs about monsters and murder

  • Pawnage.

  • I think The White Stripes did this song no wrong.

  • They did a song called Jack the Ripper, but it wasn't a cover of this.

  • actually it was, he put a different riff under the words

  • yeah, I think Jack White modeled the song more after the One Way Streets version than this one.

  • It was The Horrors that did a cover of this. I don't think the White Stripes song Astro/Jack The Ripper is the same one, I could be wrong but that's from memory.

  • i sthis video recreated in the joe meek movie 'Telstar' out this year, i read that martine mcutcheon is playing 'lady victim' in the movie as well as another 'victim' justin hawkins from 'the darkness' is playing lord sutch, sounds like a film,

  • I love Lord Sutch! His book, "Life As Sutch" is a good read too. Official Monster Raving Looney Party forever!!!!!!

  • Thats Blackmore on guitar on this original audio from 1963.

  • Is it true that on his albums he had people like Robert Plant and other Zep members, members of the Who, The Beatles, The Stones, do appearances.

  • This version is sooo much better than the "disco version" from '77!

  • I saw him live on stage, he was one of the greatest showmen ever. Not a great singer, but a load of charisma.

  • SUTCH FOR MAYOR.

  • That girl at 50 seconds is.. stunningly gorgeous.

  • I like how the women completely ignore the knife and bodies lying around the set.

  • the legend lord sutch was also a major influence in votes for 18 in britain as well as a pirate radio dj ie radio sutch he was well known for his music in germany then in later years setting up the monster raving loony party in britain pity he suffered from depression! well well ahead of his time and a real nice person to meet

  • ohmygod it was screaming lord sutch that set up the monster raving looney party? i never knew that! i love their policies thx 4 telling me that. xx

  • duuuuude i know the lady in this music video her name is thann she lives down the road from me.. and i know lord sutchs son, tristin.

  • I love this, lord sutch was great

  • He was ahead of his time

  • a legend nuff said !!!!

  • Brilliant what a shame he didn't get more famous.

  • What are you walking about its great that he didnt become more famous other wise he wulda sold out like alot ov great artist have done and now they sucks ass

  • Yeah, what is he 'walking' about?!

  • Does anyone know where I can download this song?? Of all the different download sights I've been to I haven't been able to find this song????

  • Very rare and probably impossible to find for free. For 60's 'horror' rock check out Arthur Brown as well.

  • limewire

  • Limewire doesn't work on my computer, I've tried it, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but when I type in something to search, it takes FOREVER for it to find it, and then it just stops looking.

  • Soulseek has worked better for me. Limewire didn't cut it.

  • Hi,

Send me ur email address & i'll send you it by email plus others, if you want

    Regards,

    Zorchmancometh

  • I'm 19 years old now and just yesterday I discovered Screaming Lord Sutch.

It's a shame that he's not a legend (except in Britian, I suppose, but I'm from Germany, and here he's not that well known) like Cooper or Manson, especially since he's dead.

  • weird and rocknroll!! Great Lord Sutch.

  • I love it!

  • Wow i finaly heard the real version. I love the Horrors cover and The White Stripes version as well but i love this one most

  • Is it any wonder that the British gave us goth? (Not to mention punk, and metal...)

  • I wouldn't be surprised if Alice Cooper was influenced in some way over this......so ground breaking in its time

  • IS YOUR NAME MARY BLOOD!!

Fuck Men I luv this b man!

  • Such was my political hero. He stood for Parliament again and again, as the Monster Raving Loony Party, financing the campaigns with gigs in the consituencies. My lasting regret is that I could never vote for him.

  • This is great! I've never heard of Screaming Lord Sutch until this video, but I bet he would have been a great show to see!

  • Well, Alice Cooper thought so [stole his act].

  • Lord Sutch came to my apartment in the Bronx in 1964, even had his "Union Jack" Rolls parked out front! I was 11 and got to play guitar for him...what a crazy memory! He had all these Carnaby Street clothes he brought to America to sell, and was living in my cousin's house!

  • Nice story.

  • Screaming Lord Sutch & the Savages. First live band I ever saw. They were probably crap, but to my adolescence, a brilliant memorable show!

    RIP David.

  • Remember watching this act of jack the ripper at a club in hackney london back in the 60s girls screaming and fainting absolute mayhem and great to see again.

  • Screaming Lord Sutch lived under the stairs on a Dutch Barge for a decade but it never changed him

  • cool thanks for sharing

  • Grrrrrrrrrrrrreat! ripping the throat out of those girls on tv must have been a riot back in the 60's

  • Does Ritchie Blackmore play in this song?

  • Seen him 30 years ago great act

  • S L S was kick ass in his day!!! :)

  • la cancion de los the horros jeje

  • lmao cool love sutch

just wish the screams & beginning weren't cut. it's the best part.

  • th horrors, inspirados

  • I love this.

Sadly, David "Lord" Sutch committed suicide

  • big fan of Lord Sutch- R.I.P

  • I love their songs....Especially Dracula's Daughter! The Who used to watch them play at clubs...thats where John Entwistle got interesting in writing spooky songs and Carlo Little taught Keith Moon how to play drums!

  • His little black bag and his one track mind.....Brilliantino d;~þ

  • i heard this song a year ago on the radio and finally found it again g=here...sweet

  • Order_of_the_Thistle_The motto (Latin for "No one provokes me with impunity")_William Ewart Gladstone (29 December 1809 -- 19 May 1898) (1868--74, 1880--85, 1886 and 1892--94).an alias given to an unidentified serial killer/killers) impoverished Whitechapel(white castle IMDb) area and adjacent districts of London, England in the latter half of 1888. In 1783, The Most Illustrious Order of St Patrick, was founded; Ireland the Order has fallen dormant (its last surviving knight died in 1974).

  • Would it be fair to say that this is the forerunner of punk?

  • the first shock rocker, im so renamin myself to screamin orlock raven

  • Absolutely brilliant. Lord Sutch, Arthur Brown etc...all gods! :D

  • SCREAMING LORD SUTCH FANS, GET IN CONTACT WITH ME ON HERE OR SOMETHING, PLANNING TO MAKE A STATUE IN HIS MEMORY IN MUSWELL HILL. TRYING TO GET A MEETING OF MORE SUTCH FANS TOGETHER, ALONG WITH FRIENDS OF HIS, YOUR INPUT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED :)
