  • no input - apart from the keyboard , the microphone and the dock adaptor that let's you add even more stuff

    bill - you're a fucking idiot

  • SHUTUP.... he invited computer to us

  • holy awkward moment batman

  • 2:08 and 2:35 show how much Bill Gates is behind on the tech...iPad has plenty of input options from on screen keyboard to scribble and note applications (some 3rd party), granted the jotting/scribbling applications could use some work and stylus support (yea that's a major change requiring major hardware update). But seriously. The on-screen keyboard alone for the ipad has been good enough to warrant practical use. If you *prefer* a legal pad and pen, well that's personal preference...

  • I love Microsoft. I thank them every day for Windows 7 and Xbox360. And I will thank them with my wallet yet again when Windows 8 arrives. I also love APPLE. At home when I am feeling lazy and don't feel like sitting at my pc my Ipad2 does very well as a replacement.

I think Bill is wrong about the Ipad.......Companies use it for meetings all the time. My company included. Sorry Bill Apple wins out in the tablet department.

  • @lamiac2411 i dont wanna sound angry at you but windows is only good for gaming and most people have a gaming console windows is garbage

  • man got no clue wtf he sayin.

  • @capadom

He knows what he is saying it have never been apple vs windows and that`s how it always been.

  • I think he makes a valid point about the iPad not having enough input, and not being something you would take to a meeting. But for leisure purposes, and some semi-professional purposes, it is the best thing ever.

  • competition is a great thing, it induces inovation, without Microsoft Apple may have no room to innovate and compete and without Apple Microsoft would turn the entire world into multicoloured boxes...

  • Just admit it Gates, microsoft sux and Apple rocks!

  • @kusalaviro

If you value toys maybe ;)

  • @MoronAntidote Toys? So Apple products have no business or other application? They're just toys for kids?

  • @kusalaviro

Macs aren't toys i'll give you that, but despite the claims of the apple fan boys, they are not the choice of industry, and the claim that they are superior for audio/video is a myth. The rest of their products are pretty much toys yes.

  • @MoronAntidote They ARE they choice in any creative industry, especially audio/video. Windows is fine for any other boring monotonous task.

  • @kusalaviro Yeah Macs are the way to go in AV, although god damn I wish apple realised how loyal the creative industrys are and respect that. Final cut pro X was a mess, and I gotta admit despite being a very loyal apple fanboy, my patience was very very tested by that fucking thing.

  • @MoronAntidote You'll find windows serves you well for downloading all your gay porn.

  • @kusalaviro ipods and iphones are cool. but mac's are only for people who download gay child porn on a regular basis.

  • @Soundgarden8497 And Windows is only for people who download shit fetish videos while fisting a dead dog in the ass.

  • @kusalaviro do you have a problem with people who enjoy those activities?

  • @Soundgarden8497 No, providing they keep it on a windows platform...

  • @kusalaviro fairy nuff

  • @Soundgarden8497 hairy fluff

  • @kusalaviro lairy muff

  • @Soundgarden8497 Is there a certain model you would recommend for this particular task??

  • @lamiac2411 for what? downloading extreme videos? there's a new product coming out called the iJobs... the necrophilia edition

  • @kusalaviro

Someone recently said to me that Jobs changed the world. That's simply not true unless you have a very narrow definition of 'world'. He created a 'cult following' for sure, but only by appealing to a certain consumer personality type. Capitalising on such people made Apple lots of money, but none of his products improve the way businesses work. They make Apple richer, create jobs in China (sounds nice), and improve some people's leisure activities. The world? Nah.

  • @MoronAntidote The computer world is vastly different now because of Jobs. Even Gates said so. So neeeerrrr....

  • @kusalaviro Show me where Bill states that. PS: Steve didn't do shit. Jonathan Ive was the one behind the design of all Apple devices... and of course, technology was already there for the rest...

  • @reynaldo05 1. Search yourself. you'll find it. 2. Steve outsourced all the talent but he was the binding and driving force. Apple was about to go bankrupt before he came back. To deny his influence and achievements is to be either misinformed or ignorant.

  • @kusalaviro Steve was just a marketer, a businessman. Microsoft programmed software for the early Apple PCs even before Microsoft had anything to do with operating systems. When Apple was broke in 1997, Microsoft invested $170.000.000 in Apple to help them. In return... you see all the hatred and deceptive ads towards Microsoft...

  • @reynaldo05 Take the 'just' out of your first sentence, disregard the irrelevant second sentence and we're in agreement. Fantastic...

  • @kusalaviro Just = exactly - only - merely - simply - precisely... that's what he was... JUST that... a marketer and businessman...

  • @reynaldo05 You used 'just' in the context of 'merely', trying to diminish or undervalue his contribution. As I said, take out the word 'just' and we're in agreement.

  • trapko

  • :P

  • this video is 2 years old and i still havnt seen a windows tablet with a pen, voice

and its funny he says that people wanne have everything smaller so they can bring it to work.

but i think that apple already made one macbook air :) and almost 1 year later windows started doing the same :)

  • @AcReedZero samsung slate tablet and asus slate tablet are both out

  • In spite of his billions, he seems so poor in terms of the legacy of products! MS has been a horrible copycat and wannabe in everything they have produced and shipped to date....

  • 2:44 Pen? Yuck

Voice? We got Siri my friend.

  • It's Apply who introduced GUI to us, then it is Windows who let everyone know how to use computer without inputting codes. Thanks to Gates and Jobs, the two most geniuses of our time.

  • @frogdu Actually Xerox introduced a much earlier mouse-operating GUI OS in 1973 from which one could say both MS and Apple borrowed ideas a decade later. It's also worth noting the other major players at the time from the Amiga Workbench to GEOS to GEM. Apple and MS just ended up being the companies that ended up rising to the top, but it's not fair to say that Apple originated a lot of these ideas. One can find them in various GUI OSes at the time.

  • Comment removed

  • @andrejvgo Very true, but I'm responding to people claiming that MS stole a lot of GUI ideas from Apple. Even with the start menu and the dock, we have to remember systems like AOS, NeXTSTEP, OS2, AmiDock. Not sure why Apple fans insist that MS stole these ideas and that Apple innovated them. Both generally didn't innovate these ideas. If it's a race then Apple tends to be a bit faster in adopting and adapting them, but neither Apple nor MS originated most of these key innovations.

  • @stinky472 xerox was the first, Jobs made a deal with them to be able to use whatever he wanted from them in exchange for early apple stock options. He then showed the GUI concept to Gates so he could get started on programs for it. A year later windows came out with a GUI. Funny how you mention NExt when that was one of Job's companies after he got fired from apple. The original mac was the fist GUI done right and Microsoft did steal a lot of ideas from it.

  • @1messiahcomplex If we're trying to decide who *originated* ideas, then neither Apple nor Windows can take credit for a lot of the things that Apple users claim MS stole from *Apple*, and one might even reverse the situation and say that Apple stole the original scroll wheel idea (scroll wheel mice being invented at MS, e.g.). Most of all I think it's pointless who originated these ideas. It's like getting hung up on the fact that Nintendo reverse engineered Atari instead of...

  • @1messiahcomplex ... looking at and appreciating the difference between the two products.

  • @1messiahcomplex As for NeXT, it's worth noting that Apple even sued NeXT shortly after Jobs founded it. The two companies are separate; if we're saying Jobs founded the company which innovated a lot of ideas only to then rejoin Apple and incorporate those same ideas from Sun's OPENSTEP into OSX, then it'd be a little more accurate. But then what about operating systems like Amiga Workbench? If we're talking about innovation and 'stealing', then everyone was 'stealing'.

  • @1messiahcomplex There's not really that much different from a business ethics point of view between Microsoft, Commodore, Apple -- all the big name companies of the time, except that Apple seems to have an unusual habit of being a patent bully and suing company after company in legal turf wars which is probably what prompts Apple fans to take such a strong Apple vs. the world mindset.

  • @1messiahcomplex Back to Xerox, they themselves sued Apple, not MS, for IP theft: the fact that Apple licensed certain parts of Xerox's GUI elements notwithstanding, so we're in very murky waters when we talk about these things from a legal point of view. But I don't think the legal matters are important to those who so staunchly defend Apple. The impression to me is that the ill-conceived notion that all these ideas originated at Apple somehow makes Apple better at innovation.

  • @jerryg50 well as I said, its just personal preference. None are better systems, apple is not better than microsoft, and microsoft is not better than apple, its not fact, its opinion

  • And where are these solutions from the lab?

  • @VaGirando I guess he ment devices like the Microsoft Courier [first report about it was in 2008 thats also before the iPad (2010)] . Sadly it wasnt released.

  • What an effing idiot.

  • Apple is better than Microsoft

  • @ghaiththebest hahaha good one.

  • @sk8erfreak9242 I am serios I used apple products and microsoft apple was better

  • @ghaiththebest Other than the iPod Classic I've never used an Apple product that could outperform the Microsoft equivalent

  • @eateroftheflame hey everyone uses the one that he feels comfortable with , I wasn't comfortable with microsoft products I am more than better with my MacBook

  • @ghaiththebest No apple is not better than microsoft, its just your opinion. I agree with it, but its unfair to say it like that, its all about personal preference

  • @DazNoobs Is not preference. Apple was born after but without Macintosh there's no Microsoft. Everyone knows that. And thw quality of apple devices and macs in outstanding. Microsoft is famous and more popular because it is cheap but crappy :)

  • @Viczey I agree with you, I think macs are much better quality, but it is just personal preference and opinion

  • @ghaiththebest your hilarious man

  • I miss Billie running MS I don't like Steve Ballmer he sucks

  • I like Bill Gates!

  • great answers. Bill!

  • 2:40 King: "So what are you looking for, the the the perfect thing?"

    Gates: "Well... yes."

  • i love how he doesn't suck apple's dick like everyone these days, he still loves his company

  • Shit Bill Gates really wants to say:

''We're gonna make a Windows Tablet and a media player like the iPod and Windows Phone''

    I'm sure Stevie won't mind :P

  • @Ograws Too bad Windows had a tablet before Apple did.

  • @mattman1214 which sucked

  • @mattman1214 yeah but it wasn't successful

  • @Ograws They already had an Ipod knock off, it was called the Zune

  • @SharpFPShooter add that to the list ;)

  • @SharpFPShooter Zune was before.

  • freakin oligopolies

  • Im a fan of Apple (because of their design, and the smoothness of the old iPod Nanos), but I think Bill Gates is the MAN, Jobs is a bit obnoxious for me.

  • @ickerHun you're holding it the wrong way nigga

  • That was unfair. The ipad is cool, and he has to admit it. Don't be a sucker, Bill!

  • funny when every meeting I enter there is iPads...

  • Well you CAN use a pen on the iPad (you don't need it, though..) and soon you will be able to dictate with Siri on the iPad3.

Then even Bill will have hin "perfect device"!

  • bill gates has better ideas and steve is is getting all microsoft apps on apple :)

  • god..hear steve alreay make iphone versions............he really give his whole life to company....

  • Lol gates @2:44 "where I can use a pen"...who the eff wants a stylus nowadays? You lose them, and they're no fun. Your FINGER is the best tool.

  • At least Bill is much more reasonable and unbiased than Ballmer...

  • @mrasg1303 As well as Jobs.

  • Bill is an ass. Still better than Justin Bieber.

  • Very good point from Bill. He thinks about the iPad not to be a wokring Unit and that is right. Data input and data output that is how the work is done.

  • @fromYourSide Steve Jobs hated the stylus pen.

  • @worldbeater1 Yeah, he's probably keep loosing his one. :)

  • He is honest about his bias. He at least said that

  • its absolutely not the same business or insdustry

  • "You like the iPad?"

    "HELL F*CKING NO!!!"

  • Gates and Jobs are among the great geniuses of our time. They changed how the world does business, and how our educational system works. Behind the scenes most of these companies work together. They make deals to buy and sell patent rights and technology among each other. This type of way of working is what helps to advance progress.

  • @jerryg50

More like masters of screwing up people. They made antitrust jump more than once. But it's true that Gates was pretty good at programming 30 years ago and that Jobs was a good businessman. Neither is a genius though.

  • I agree with you in the way of the antitrust problems and monopoly of the markets. But, they are geniuses to accomplish what they did. It takes a very special type of person to accomplish such vast wealth, and to be able to make such a proprietary system that all the world has be on it and pay for it.

I have been using MS operating systems and Windows at the professional level for many years. It has its bugs, but it sure gets the job done at a very professional level.

    Jerry G.

  • @jerryg50 Why on the big stage, Microsoft advertises their products and Apple makes fun of Microsoft for have more incompatibilities than apple?

  • From what I learned in marketing studies, competition is good. It allows to enforce competent advancement between the different products. It offers choice in the market place. From what I learned, there is room for everyone who has a good product.

With operating systems, I tell people if they don't like Apple or MS, there is always Linux. Linux has greatly improved over the last few years. With MS and Apple, there is more direct support...

  • @mobeen1982

You're a cock sucking coward. Fucking pussy.

  • Imagine a world where every second of your day is recorded, textualized, and remembered. Imagine a device that is in tune with your personal thoughts and character. A device that gives you ideas of exploration based on your mood and optical tendencies. Sci Fi talks about it...People are working on it. Get ready world. It's gonna get interesting.

  • It's good to know that Apple and Microsoft help each other...

  • oh gates how wrong were u to under rate the iPad .... Input???? really? iPad is all about input!!!! anyways Apple rules!!!!! windows sucks!!!!!! lol just kidding! they're both great i have a mac and a pc.... love them both. although apple products tend to look hotter.....

  • @ninocolato1987 and you pay for it....

  • @ninocolato1987 just beacuse they make you look with money

  • no he is saying its too damn much to pay for a mac when you can buy a pc for less. NOt everyone can afford a damn mac lol I wish I could cause it is a great puter dont get me wrong.

  • RIP Steve Jobs

  • Handwriting is the slowest input method. Why would anyone prefer that over a keyboard?

  • @Irockman1 Many people (myself included) believe note-taking is easier and more fluid hand-written. I'm a very fast typer, but I have an inexplicable bias towards the pen and paper. It's why many people still write journals and note entries by hand.

  • @Irockman1 because not all note taking is text. There's drawing, doodles, diagrams, highlighting, or not horizontal lines of text, and a lot of people like to take notes in a creative way

  • pen? voice? Gate = hater! Admiting that the iPad is something all of his grand children bought would have been smooth!

  • @danielosbay and the sky is blue.

  • fuck you Gates, Windows SUCKS DICK! you need to be a frikken computer technician to understand whats going on on that operating system

  • @cb7pwn whoa dud calm down, first i want to say... no you dont... i have seen 5 year old use them just fine.... second i want to say i have seen grown men get lost on them as well. .. on the other hand i have seen a computer technician get lost on a mac.... so calm your shit.

  • Trololo video has more views than this one.

  • Allow the ipad to use flash, throw in a couple USB ports for things like external HDD/disc drives etc and switch the os from ios to lion and I think we'd see the death of both the desktop AND laptop within a few years. Seriously...that's how close we are.

  • @Nintariz That's totally dumb...So you think you can do visualizations on an iPad? Flash would destroy the performance of the browser etc. already said...

  • Bill is so right about the input thing on a ipad

  • @RW00632 i can tell you why, honestly, because I have a pc and mac. A mac, without a doubt for me, is much better at everyday use, everything just works better and smoother, watching videos, going online, ect.. but pcs are the best for gaming

  • @DazNoobs If you compare two machines with the exact specifications running iOS and windows side by side, it will both offer the same experience, except in the end, windows will have much more functionality. I don't get why people think Apple computers are smoother, it doesn't make sense to me.

  • @NoobsAreUsh aha, but do you have an apple computer?

  • @DazNoobs Actually yes, I had an older MacBook Pro, and it was in no way faster than the PCs that I own.

  • @NoobsAreUsh huh, must be the older macbook pro, because mines much better, you probably got unlucky

  • @DazNoobs When I bought the MacBook it was top of the line, as was my PC. Obviously yours is better NOW, which comes at no surprise. I don't see how luck plays into this though, it just looks like you blindly defending the Mac.

  • @NoobsAreUsh actaully, its much more like your blindly defending pc's. My starting point was that their equal, yet you cannot accept that because you blindly follow microsoft, where I find the 2 companies equal so I can make a fair judgement

  • @DazNoobs "must be the older macbook pro" - assumes the Mac is equal to the PC because it is older

"you probably got unlucky" - luck is not exactly a factor when it comes to a computer's performance

I was the one who said that "If you compare two machines with the exact specifications running iOS and windows side by side, it will both offer the SAME EXPERIENCE"

yet you keep saying the Mac is better.

Seriously, how can you even call me biased?

  • @NoobsAreUsh you said 'in the end windows will have more function' and your first comment was 'apple sucks and is overpriced'. That whole first comment summed up that ur a pc fanboy, I am not a fanboy, I was just using my pc for a few hours before I decided to settle down on my mac

  • @DazNoobs I was referring to your post about user experience. You said the Mac was smoother in every day use, and I am telling you that is wrong. You can't exactly deny that the PC has more functionality than Macs though, can you? It's not exactly an opinion I'm giving here.

  • @NoobsAreUsh hold on, so you are saying its fact, not opinion, that pcs are better then macs! wow, I knew you were a fanboy, but that goes a bit far don't you think, even for your standards

  • @DazNoobs I never said the PC was better than a Mac you delusional idiot, I said the PC has more functionality than Macs. Unless you can prove me wrong, which you can't by the way, as this is not my opinion, I don't see why you're calling me a fanboy. Why are you straying off topic anyways? Stick to the topic at hand, user experience, if you even have any more points to make.

  • @NoobsAreUsh yeh but then I could just say its my opinion that macs are better then pc's, and besides, even if your point about pcs having more functions then mac were true (which its not, and remember, u can't argue with that, its my opinion) then thats still untrue, because you would be saying windows has more functions then OSX, as you can bootcamp it. Ur obsessive arguing is just digging u into a deeper pit, fanboy

  • @DazNoobs You do realize that by saying that you saying what he is saying is not true, when he is not saying an opinion he is stating a fact, he can argue with it. And don't call someone a fanboy when really, you're acting more of a fanboy than the other guy. You're both fanboys anyway. Now I wish you a good day, and if you managed to read this far into the comment, please don't reply to it, because I will not be reading anything of which you reply to me.

  • @luigihijklmn yeh, this guys right, lets stop arguing, we both have our own opinions and thats fine :), I don't think I'm a fanboy, you don't think u are, i think they are equal, you personally prefer windows, who really cares tbh, we both have our opinions so lets just end it

  • @DazNoobs dude reading the converstation... you were getting owned... he is showing little fanboyisms. and you are showing a few as well. but he stated a lot of facts where you stated a lot of guesses and opinions.

  • @GRAWman aha, so we have a shit stirer do we. Your so bored that instead of just letting it settle and letting people have these things called opinions, look it up, you get bored easily and want to try to start another argument. I'm guessing your a pc fanboy then, either that or your a massive twat, or both. Yeh, probably both.

  • I found the Mac to be a very closed system. Options are very proprietary, and far more expensive. As for functionality and available support , I found the Win system to be far better.

When comparing systems, make sure the computers are identical in hardware specifications, and all the devices connected are of the exact same specs.

I've worked on both systems, and my preference is Windows any time!

  • @RW00632 fuck u

  • the iPad is basically just an oversized iPod Touch.

  • 2:45 siri :D

  • @999LGS Dude Siri was non-existent 2 years ago

  • @999LGS or MAJEL...

  • "different strengths"...ie gates actually knew how technology worked, jobs just told people what to do.

  • WRONG!

The Apple iPAD has an office package, also at my work we have it connecting into a windows, and a OSX workstation.

  • Newton vs Leibniz, Edison vs Tesla, and our generation Gates vs Jobs

  • @GrayRazor Einstein vs ?

  • @GrayRazor tesla and steve jobs would kick ass

  • @GrayRazor sorry man. but gates and jobs are edison. maybe tesla are all the engineers work for them.

  • @GrayRazor That's not very fair, one computer and business genius against one business genius.

  • @GrayRazor

    Well clearly Gates win xD

  • @GrayRazor Newton, Leibniz, Edison, and Tesla were scientific and mathematical geniuses. Gates and Jobs are business moguls/monopolists. Not a fair comparison. ;-)

  • linux is better than both of them

  • @emewify Linux is more stable/secure.....but compatibility hell No!

  • Bill Gates has been more than cordial once to help out Apple when they required it. Without MS, Apple maybe another commodore 64.

  • We like it or not GATES is a great man which need a respect !!!

ipad, itunes, ipod, idotttt ... apple just wanna express themselves with these boys sorry GIRLS toys

    MICROSOFT we love u

  • iPad is a TOY. It's like a guitar or a PSP. Microsoft makes computers. Bill Gates isn't wrong, get over it Apple fanboys.

  • Apple got started before Microsoft.... WTF BILL

  • I view Apple vs Microsoft like viewing 2 nice cars. Theres no need to bag on them, why cant you appreciate them for both being really nice cars and they are suited for different people with different lyfesyles

  • @ProgHead93 I've always been saying that. It's the competition that helped the companies push forward. It kind of worries me what will happen with Steve Jobs gone. Either Apple will continue to be a tight competition or maybe it's time for some new companies to enter.

  • World Y U NO know care about Dennis Ritchie

  • smaller yeah right

    windows xp 1gig

    windows vista 2-3gig

    windows 7 4gig

  • @bumps123456789 his talking about the computer not the software.

  • Bill just doesn't get it. So long and thanks for all the iStuff Steve. You left a bunch of cool stuff behind.

  • Bill Gates for President !

  • Actually, Bill did nail it about the input. One thing though, Bill and Steve's conflict wasn't as extreme as our tech co
