  • Sorry, one last thing. The show was actually at the "Theater at Madison Square Garden", not the big MSG itself. I guess they call it WaMu Theater now (but I can't imagine that name can last much longer!). Maybe the "JPMorgan Chase Theater" is the next name.

  • Ah, yeah, it was called The Paramount back then, i think, lol.

  • To help clarify, was this broadcast on Lifetime TV? It was clear that the show was a fundraiser for RAINN and being recorded for Lifetime (Calvin Klein also figured in somehow). I saw Tori 4 times over the years, and that show was a standout. Her opening act was Willy Porter, who was one of the most impressive opening acts I've ever seen. Even he got some flowers. He even made up a little song about how thrilled he was to be opening up for Tori.

  • verbose much? lol

it was on lifetime and yes its from 97

  • Is this from 1/23/97? I was there and had a near front row seat, which I bought two hours before the show. I was walking by Penn Station on my way home from work. I went to the window for a ticket and they said they had one near the camera crane. I bought it for $46! Awesome seat--better than Sarah McLachlan's a few rows back. I remember to this day how Tori closed with this song and exited the stage right with a "rear kiss". That song was in my head on the subway ride home. Great show!

  • LoL. I was there too!! I sat right in front of Ms. McLachlan, so slightly behind you. It was after she got her short haircut, lol. The stupid things you remember 12 years later. Awesome show.

  • This proves that we both aren't lying! Because I distinctly remember Sarah's short hair as well. It's so funny that sticks out in both of our minds. But was I right about Willy Porter as the opener? I'm pretty sure that was the show he opened for her. He was wearing a red University Of Wisconsin sweatshirt. Incredibly talented singer and guitarist. I'm now playing some of his YouTube stuff. He's still waiting to be discovered, I guess.

  • LoL, yeah, i think it was him. I'm pretty sure I saw him at more than just that show though, so he had to be with her for a tour that year.

  • best version ever!

  • Totally agree!

  • Some people relate to her music by listening, others by singing.I'm proud to say I always sing along at concerts,it's the only way to get it all out. OK, singing at the top of your lungs isn't necessary but still people are allowed to relate to music out loud. Yesterday, I went to see Alanis Morissette here in Belgium & for once I wasn't standing in the front row and people are so dull in the back. I was the only one dancing and singing -even when Alanis asked the crowd to sing. It's not the same

  • goose pimples and tears.

  • these north-american fans are just annoying...

  • She is playing a benefit concert for RAINN, a-hole. Most of the audience has probably experienced horrendous sexual violence, and I think people should feel free to express themselves in the present. You say North-American fans as if nationality is a totalizing identity. Tori's philosophies as seen through her craft constantly challenge these types of psychic restrictions. Grow up and throw your antiquated stereotypes away.

  • Well, I dont have any stereotypes in mind I've got like 7GB of Live-material on my pc and I can say that the north-american Tori-Fans ARE ANNOYING....and this has nothing to do with the rainn concert or something...they just freak out in every show....again: its annoying. thank you!

  • you are greedy in your comment, sir. i understand your point but i think it is very biased and all-together unfair. these people shared an experience together. they celebrated it together. they thanked her together.

you are entitled to your opinion. but in my opinion; you're wrong.

  • I luv this song so much that im dancing to it for dance! shes amazing!

  • this made me cry.the most wonderful 5 minutes in my life.

  • my god, tori is amazing, but her fans are extremely irritating. i know she's not too keen on criticism of her them (after all, they helped make her career), but i've never been to a tori concert where i haven't experienced some fool who sings along at the top of their lungs are screams incessantly at the most inopportune moments. yeah, she's amazing when she belts it out - could i hear how amazing it is rather than listen to you scream your head off?

  • she is making love. marvellous. love her.

  • I still get goosebumps from this version of PGY. I remember that way back in the years, when I got the Live in NY video, I cried out loud when I heard this song. So haunting, so perfect, so gorgeous. As is the entire video, of course. Thanks for uploading it, allowed me to watch it again.

  • This performance...just wow. It's a peace of heaven or somethin'...If you understand it. It is the best song she could have chosen to end this concert. Just a lil annoying that they scream so much.

  • Tori, you're amazing. Love your soul.

What's it gonna take till my baby's alright?

  • Love you Tori! Thanks for the moment.

  • beautyful
