awesome! i remember picking up a bootleg cassette at a record fair in '82 with this track on it & for some reason i put it back down! what a tw@t i was. i thought i'd never get to hear this version, thank you, you are a genius. my search is over.....30 years later.
I love this version, Love the original better of course but I am a huge Jam fan but never knew they covered this. Priceless, straight on a favourites tag!
I was at this gig. Went with my buddy Steve (who sent me this link). We arrived early and managed to get into the soundcheck, too...and then had to make our way to the back of the queue to get into the gig itself. The chips to which we treated ourselves while we waited in that queue were our only defence against the cold - it was freezing. If I remember right Saxon were playing a gig on the same night just down the road (at the Rainbow?)
@GameIntelProductions I've been collecting the much more rare stuff for over 25 years now. There's some amazing bootleg recordings out there which have been converted from cassette to digital and a lot of great foreign import stuff, vinyl mainly. This is one I've never heard before, but there'll be shitloads out there like that. I don't think anybody could ever have it all, its just wishful thinking.
@cuntbollockswank is there any chance you could put any onto Youtube? im a massive jam enthusiast and im only 16! got all the albums, studio, live and extra ones but i really do wanna hear more bootleg and demo stuff! best band of all time in my book
can't believe its nearly 30 years ago I was there that night nearly missed it as the car broke down. I think they played A Town Called Malice live for the first time that night as well, fantastic memories.
The only night they played this song. The second night at this venue was the (only) occasion on which they played Eddie Floyd's Big Bird, subsequently released on the LP Dig the New Breed.
just showed how great the jam were there wasnt a genre they couldnt cover and cover well....wellers voice was made for motown hes smashed every motown song hes ever done...thanks for the great upload
