@Drummerkid74 Unfortunately no, it does require Kontakt full version. This is a limitation from Native Instruments on their own Kontakt Player software.
i just uploaded a metal demo using fruity loops but i used shreddage guitar synth and slate drums, the mix isn't great but it's the first mix ive done. i plan to upload some more metal tracks and work on my mixing, any advice would be welcome, check it out.
ok now i am pissed off, how the fuck do i sort out the kontakt player shit, i've bought this fucking software and no 1 has explained in detail how to get it goin,
@shuttsworth That's just how Kontakt works, I'm afraid. Have a look around for the tutorials on YouTube because honestly, Kontakt libraries can be a headache if you don't know what you're doing.
Is it possible to simply import any midi file into a DAW with Kontakt 4 and have Shreddage pull off the riff or is this program only designed to work with live recordings from recorded midi input devices? If the method of importing existing midi files is an option, where might i find detailed tutorials on how to do this?
@skutbug You can definitely just write your own MIDI riffs; I don't recommend importing a MIDI riff necessarily since the MIDI data needs to be customized (eg. some articulations are left or right hand only, velocity triggering, etc.) I'll be doing a new tutorial for Shreddage soon really showing how to construct stuff from scratch in the piano roll.
@MargaretsLight Not as of yet.. like many small devs, the NI licensing fee is too high to bundle a player, so we do require Kontakt for this one. However, we're porting it to ImageLine's "Directwave" format as well.
@Systemofashane Really? Dude check out my LOG guitar covers. I only have 2 right now, and Im not a really good at it but I started playing a year ago.
for all the metalheads out there, shreddage lets you go as low as A sharp, which is 5 steps lower than regular tuning. i was worried that a synth guitar would be based around a standard electric guitar and tuning (E). luckely this allows you to play down tuned guitar parts. does anyone know how to bend the notes in shreddage like a whammy or pitch shift device?????
I got Kontakt with Shreddage but i need a good preset for Guitar rig 4. :/ im having no luck getting it to sound as good as in this video. any help please?
i got the panning effect working on fl 9 just go to the wrapping settings then click processing and send the first two audio channels of kontakt to different mixing tracks then pan them one to the left and the other to your right and put your amp sim on them and you ll have that awesome stereo effect with round robin ¡¡¡¡
To respond to a few of these comments; this is compatible with any sequencer, all you need is the Kontakt plugin. Kontakt works in any host/DAW and Mac or PC. I personally use Kontakt in FL Studio! The drums are Steven Slate, the $20 collection from AudioMIDI that went on sale a month or two ago.
Yup Prominy still dominates, but this is more affordable and has a way smaller footprint which is always handy if all you're doing are rhythm guitar parts
I made something very close to this years ago. Just sampled clean guitar at high quality and ran it through guitar rig 2 at the time. Leads sound terrible but rhythms sound very believable giving a little time for humanization. I wish i knew how to do the velocity switching though.
So are you using to instances of Kontakt and adding the Studio devil amp to each of em. I'm confused with what you're doin with kontakt and the two studio devil amps and round robin stuff lol I'm a nub with kontakt as you can tell lol xD.
Kontakt is loading up the samples themselves, and the Studio Devil amps go on each output of Kontakt - one left-panned, one right-panned. This is for the "double tracked" sound. The round robin stuff happens automatically... you don't even need to worry about it :)
I know what kontakt is and what it does xD. I was confused about why you had two studio devils runnin. So let me see if I'm understandin what you're doin, you have two instances of kontakt in two different channels in the mixer, one panned left and the other right, and you have studio devil runnin through each of those right?
Keep in mind this is just a live demo with no time spent on humanization or anything like that; the main purpose was to show how to use the library. I recommend listening to our demos such as "Desertion" and see if you still think it sounds like MIDI. :-)
I don't expect a darn thing from anyone. Personally I'll play it myself. I just stated my opinion. An honest opinion. Maybe it would be wise to present the product with a before and after? The idea is to sell it, is this not true?

I wasn't able to get it to work with Kontakt 2. Said the library was created with a higher version. Had to upgrade to the 4.

this library is the best in the market now for playing rithm heavy guitars... realstrat and prominy LPC are really awful
i presume that the shreddage guitar is a les paul so i will love if you make more libraries like this with other types of guitars
