I am sorry that you have had experiences like you mentioned here. I find it hard to believe from my sheltered world here in VT that there are UUs like that out there. I love my congregation and have never felt so immediately accepted. In my mind if someone does not believe that another should follow what they believe in they aren't UU.

UU is about the search for personal truth, not about accepting the views of someone else.

Thank you for expressing your sympathy satimiriam but it is by no means just me who has experienced words and actions of exclusion, oppression and indeed hate from "fundamentalist atheist" Humanist U*Us or other U*Us. In fact anti-Republican intolerance and bigotry is quite common too. . . I am not a Christian U*U nor a pagan U*U, nor am I a Republican or other political conservative. All of these groups aka identities face exclusion, oppression and even hate from U*Us *within* the U*U World.
