  • The right of an to defend himself with necessary force and arms is a sacred right.......All of the founders were fond of Hemp, as am I.

  • This guy needs to get out more. He needs to read Prof John Lott's More Guns, Less Crime. He needs grow up.

  • @NoMAIG I know. I sent him a very lenghy PM which he has choosen to ignore. Like many others I'm sure he will continue to bash liberty without being able to logically or empirically justify his anti human bigotries.

  • The majority of all gun deaths are suicides, which would occur via different means if guns were banned. The majority of gun homicides revolve around the drug war. These would cease if prohabition were ended. 65% of homicides occure in just 5 cities, all of which have low per captia gun ownership, and 4 of which have the strictess gun control laws in the country. Cities and states with less gun control and more guns have lower homicide rates. Please explain this.

  • Yeah, Hemp should be legal, but you strayed from reason after you said that. The open carry rallies on April 19th are not to commomorate OKC, but the Battle of Lexington. Your either ignorant or lying when you claim that. Why does people walking around with pistols bother you? There are 6 million citizens with Concealed carry permits, and more still that open carry. How many of them have commitied crimes with their guns?

I'll let this article respond for me.

  • @skeptico

don't know what I'm doing wrong but this post is a more thorough response than I could make wasting time looking up the same things. ERROR. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but the URL keeps coming up as ERROR. duh

  • @skeptico The number of guns in the country (in absolute and per capita terms) have been increasing for decades. Beyond that the number of people who carry these guns (either concealed or openly) has also increased. If your fears had any basis in reality, these facts should cause a rise in crime. However the opposite is the case, crime has been declining for decades. I hesitate to say the extra guns caused the decline, but they certainly have not caused and increase as per your logic.

  • @lengthyounarther

I am not opposed to guns for hunting though they should without question be registered, which the NRA opposes. I am opposed to military weapons in the hands of civilians, which the NRA supports. I am opposed to cop-killer bullets, which the NRA defends. What I am most opposed to is people swaggering around like it was the wild west. Have you seen the studies of that show people with guns in the home are far more likely to be hurt or killed by a gun those who don't have guns?

  • @skeptico Firstly not all gun rights supporters are NRA clones, just as not all gun control advocates are Brady Campaing Clones. The military uses almost all types of weopons. For instance the Remingon 700 is the prefered sniper rifle of the military, but is also one of the most popular hunting rifles. So are you ok with this becauuse they are popular hunting rifles, or not ok with it because the military uses them?

  • @skeptico I'm going to respond via PM so I can attach some links, and not be subject to length restrictions.
