Hey everybody...i'm just gunna point thins out...for doing runway modelling you have to be tall...but for commercial modelling you don't have to be. The photographers make you seem taller then what you are zoo it's all good. i'm only 5'6 but am able to become a commercial model. If you look at celebrities, how tall are they...not very tall...emma watson( herminie granger) is 5'3-5'4...and taylor lautner is 5'6. so height depends on what you are wanting do do in the modelling world.

not for some agencies, but honestly i would recommend you finish school first, you dont know what it is you wanna do just yet. believe me im 16 and i've changed my mind so many times over the job i want. fashion is obessed with youth, so as long as you keep a youthful appeal when your older you may have the potential to be a model.

you have to be 5'9' or taller to be a model and a size 12 to be a plus size model (I think)

@sweetminttt I thought you have to be 5"7 or taller & a size 0 - 6 to be a regular model . And anything over size 6 is Plus size b/c I was watching ANTM (America's Next Top Model) & There was a girl who looked like she'd fit a size 7 & they considered her Plus Size which I found crazy because she looked avereage & beautiful .

@Hottie0926 you have to be 5'9" to 6' something to be a runway model. 5'6" they would take for models that are going to be in magazines. Also size 2 is the average size of a model but size 0 is great and you can be up to a 6 as long as you look thin. To be plus size you have to be atleast a size 10 or 12 I'm pretty sure.

@sweetminttt Oh , I didn't relieze . I just looked it up & on 1 website it said you'd have to weight from 108-125lbs to be a model while being as tall as 5"7 (or taller) . Just asking , but are you a runway model or any sort of model ? 'Cause kind of want find an agency that would hire me .

@Hottie0926 To find an agency go online and look at ones that are close to or in your hometown. If you are serious about it, take some pictures and send them in to agencies in Cali or NY such as Wilhemina.

my modeling agency doesn't make us starve ourselves.

I have a high metabilism.

I could eat a whole bunch and not gain any weight.

And I've actually weighed myself and walked around my living room and back and i weighed less.

No amount of money is worth what STARVATION (Anorexia) does to a girl or young womans body. Your body eats itself when you starve. It impairs your brain function and it damages your heart and other organs. Please dont become a model my daughter is with the top model agency and it almost killed her. I used to be a fashion model but it was healthier in the 80's. I cant recommend any young woman doing it. Its not worth your health and dieing.

yes u hav a good point there but some models hav eating disorders and can't help it n they model anyways. wat i'm saying is that some models don't starve themselves, they just can eat watever they want without gaining weight easily because of their metabolism or disorders. but yes, then there's some girls who starve themselves literally.

bliss, most of the models are not getting proper nutrition, they use cigarettes as an appetite suppressant and many other harmful things to their health. Ali Michael who is a successful high fashion model and who was on the cover of Teen Vogue and is in Italian Vogue will speak out in Teen Vogue about what is going on with the "weight issue" so watch for it. I dont know if it will come out this month or next month. If you want just google Ali Michael to read what happened to her.

i totally agree with you! (im a model too) im just naturally skinny....really...not all models are anorexic and dumb...actually i haven't met one...it's a stereotype that's totally not true...playboy models, maybe, but not real models who take their career seriously =)

Im also a model, im so skinny, i want to gain atleast 10 more pounds. I eat like every hour. Man i weigh 103 lbs and im 5'6..Im 14..And i cant gain weight, and im not dumb, i go to manhattan center which is one of the best schools in NY.I get excellent grades.
