I was there, turn 3a, my 1st live NASCAR race in 98. Sears Point looked so much different back then. I also have this race on tape, maybe I should try to upload that in high quality?
Awesome work! I have Nadeau's car from this race as a Hot Wheels 1/64 diecast, really good job! Always kinda dug Nadeau, shame he had to retire, funnily enough I began routing for him after seeing him at an Infineon race too - the 2002 race where his car broke down when leading with like 4 laps to go, and he was actually matching Ricky Rudd stride for stride.
I so agree... he was so good.. but this would not happen sadly becuase his injury is so bad.. i wish tht acident didnt happen and he could have kept racing.
I think he has clearance to race, but one side (forget which one) is constantly numb, so it would be very tough for him to race again. Sad, because he had lots of wins left in him, I believe.
Oh, I didn't get it off a rebroadcast; this is an original recording on ESPN2 in 1998. There was some kind of scheduling conflict so the first part of the race was shown on ESPN2.
I'm glad they got rid of that old turn 4 thing and made the new one the way it is now

I wish that Nadeau would return to the track in a racecar some day. I would love to see him behind the wheel again.

NASCAR should go back to this configuration at Infenion. The new one sorta stinks.
Now if Jerry did that at the last lap, that would have been site to see.

wasn't Nadeau under contract with bill elliott that year
rustyshackleford01 4 years ago
Yes he was. The #13 was co-owned by Bill Elliott and Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino (thus the paint scheme) to form Elliott-Marino Motorsports.
