I think part of the reason the audience booed Roseanne when she sang The Star Spangled Banner was a total lack of a sense of irony. They were so prim and so serious and so pious and so self-righteous--that they just couldn't poke fun at their own patriotism. Heaven forfend.

I remembered when Roseanne sang the Star Spangled Banner, and I thought it was hysterical! She is a comic, what did they really expect, I was shocked that she was Booed and treated the way she was, I still can't believe it!

Hello. I`m from Poland and I love Margaret Cho:) I really like Roseanne too. Unfortunetly we don`t have such people in my country. Everyone who is trying to be funny makes all that jokes for stupid people. They want make money, nothing besides that.

This two womans shows to all world that americans, even if they have all that pop-culture shit , are clever, funny and beautifull too:)

I soooo agree that these women are true American heroes... Nothing is more healing than the gift of laughter, coupled with thoughtful conversation.. This was an AMAZING interview and THIS is the type of thing that *I* think would be FABULOUS television on a regular basis... I'd even produce it if asked (nicely)...
