Just had my old 1981 L-1000 in for a mega-professional set up after years of neglect, abuse, and non -use! Will pick it up tonight.
I'd forgotten how good these basses can sound, and how much tonal variation they have (even with just passive electronics).
I've read reviews that say this beauty is capable of sounds similar to both a P-Bass and Musicman. I think that's a pretty fair description, having once owned both of those.
