continued from previous comment: If you are looking to be the best fighter pilot in the galaxy...find a PvP-centric corporation or maybe even a mercencary corp that gets paid by other corporations to fight for/with them in wars declared upon them by other corps.
For those who are commenting on the aspect of "learning to play." Unlike most MMORPGs it has a somewhat steep learning curve. Your best is to either get in to "EVE University" (it's a corporation set up to help new people learn to play the game), or hook up with ANY corporation that shares your interests in the game. If you have plans to be a huge industry mogul and amass great wealth, find a like-minded corporation to join. Corporations function much like "guilds" in other MMOs.
I just got the trial and iv played it for a day, and even now I can tell its pretty deep. Can you actually pilot massive ships? or just single-man shuttles? Iv been thinking about getting farther but it kinda hard to get into, the interface is a tad complicated too
Yes, you can pilot MASSIVE ships. However, it takes time to train to pilot ever larger, and more capable ships. There are indeed some MONSTROUS ships, such as Titans. I'm a industry chick (lol) it took me a while to train to pilot my retriever that is equipped for mining asteroid belts. Right now I'm training for my HULK (which is much bigger with more storage capacity). I suggest training your learning skills before most all others, as they make the rest of your training time MUCH shorter.
