@PetePeterkin What a racist comment. If I said "I don't know why black guys think they can sing opera (LOL), nobody would accept it, and rightly so. Racism against any colour is unacceptable.
I hope Whitney stops and meets the Motown crew next February in Brisbane, Austrlaia; she is performing in the same building the day before the current Miracles, Temps, Tops, Mary Wilson, and Martha & The Vandellas perform. Mary should tell Whitney she could very well could have gone the way of Florence Ballard. And at A$69, I find the Motown concert a bargain compared to the Whitney pne at $100+.
I'm quite saddened by all the press Whitney has received as of late, and after what happened to Mary Wells, I'm very worried about Whitney; she was the last "true" diva compared to all of the manufactured ones we get today along with that computerized crap.
Whitney Houston could had filled the "diva void" at Motown and Diana Ross left in 1981 and be the labels new "lead diva"; but I still feel Arista was more apporpriate for her because her Godmother, Aretha Franklin and cousin Dionne Warwick were also on the label.
People probably arent aware that Smokey Robinson wrote all of the songs that were performed in this video. I've had the privilege of seeing Smokey in concert several times. He is truly an amazing performer/singer/songwriter. A living legend!!!!
I hope Whitney stops smoking; Mary Wells died of lung cancer when she was just 49! In the final years of her life Mary's voice was just a shadow of her formerself. SMOKING IS A DRUG!
Thanks Whitney for covering my FAVORITE MOTOWN SONG OF ALL TIME! You could have signed with Motown in the early 80's after Diana left, and could have even started the movie career earlier as Motown was based in LA. By the time Diana would have returned in late 1988, you would had enough hits to make Diana a "has-been." Clive was nice, but Berry knows to groom divas as well, and Diane Warren was with the label at the time, and Mike Masser and Ashford and Simpson would still support you!
Hey, do you have the perormance for Whitney that night of "Give Us This Day". I would love to see it. I've been searching all over youtube. No one posted it. Do you have it. If you do, i would be extremely greatful. I love Whitney Houston's voice so much.

WHITNEY IS SO GOOD! It's not just the voice being the best, it's the way she sings and interprets songs. Unmatched
