Far more exciting to me seeing a $29,000 win that way than a 1 million win of 26 briefcases and 13 of them have that large amount in them! Miss this show.
Wow and she had a legit shot at hitting the max, too. It's easy for me to say from here, but I'm surprised that she didn't max bet the King given what was already out there. What a hell of a Money Cards!
There was one contestant who won the maximum possible prize in the Money Cards, $28,800 on Card Sharks with Jim Perry. The only difference there was that there was a $200 advance on the second level rather than $400, and although you could change each base card, you did not get a choice of cards to change.
Holding back on the King is understandable enough, as the only card that'll beat you is an Ace. (As the '78 versions' opening poem suggests, "Aces High, Deuces Low.")
If my memory serves me right,it's the record by $200,because in the Perry version,$28,800 was the most you could win on The Money Cards, and a contestant did "max out",and won the $28,800 in the bonus round.
She kinda sounds like Jesse from Toy Story 2 and 3

She could have bet the whole farm and won two farms!

I don't know why she didn't shoot the max on the king... one ace was already out of play! Same with the queen!

As quoted by Jim Perry when Norma Brown won.

I wonder when this episode will air on GSN the next time around? I am presuming we are getting closer.

Those face cards can give you a little scare.
Way to go! This is the closet anyone has ever come. No one has ever won $32,000 on Bob's version. Biggest single win!

That $29,000 win was the most on any version of "Card Sharks", including Jim Perry's.

No one on Bob's version ever won the max $32,000 but this was the closet I think anyone has come to doing it.
On Jim's version one contestant that I remember did win the max which was $28,800 at the time. Both very well done.
I liked both versions of this show

She had the cards to do it too. I'm surprised she held back on the King. I can understand holding back on the Queen.

Good for her. She understood logic and probability. That puts her ahead of a lot of game show contestants.

It was Norma Brown. The interesting part is the contestant before her went bust. Just do a search for Norma Brown.

There was another contestant who won the $28,800; it happened in one of the pilots for CS '78.
gameshowguy2000 4 years ago
In the second pilot it happened, the first one was a bust.
