The only thing special would be the co-authoring of presentations however having used PPT 2010 i can't see its possible unless you have SharePoint and a 64bit server or something.

How can I add a song as background music for a presentation? I need it to be playing on multiple slides and the process seems to be different than in Powerpoint 2007, because the advanced options don`t have the minimum size requirement for music files to be contained within tab, and there is no window asking you if you want the track to start automatically or on click! Can somebody please help me?

YouFroobz, if you spent more time using and learning the product you will see it is significantly faster and more productive. The learning curve associated with learning where everything is, is what you think is hard. Go and play and learn.

Bad! In the Beta version it doesn't even play the videos, it crashes! Hope this will be fixed.

I would also like the old transitions too, not only the new ones, because Powerpoint 2010 won't play the animations in the presentations created with Powerpoint 1997-2007 and viceversa. And the "Random Transition" option is also gone! I want it back!

There is no evidence that "audiences will enjoy" bouncing filtered photos, or reflecting videos, or that any of this helps the audience understand or retain the content. Tufte calls it "gratuitous decoration," and with each new version of PowerPoint this problem gets louder, and the software is more difficult to operate. The ribbon is a hairball inside of a maze.

That much compression would completely destroy the video. You would get a blurry mess. It's just a marketing gimmick.

I wouldn't call it "just a marketing gimmick." I think it's a nice shortcut for emailing out a presentation for feedback or review to multiple people. Saves the hassle of deleting media, having multiple copies or compressing outside of PP.

I agree - also, looks like the compression works in a similar way to image compression in existing versions of PowerPoint - it dumps the "cropped" element and only retains the bit you need. As such, I'm guessing that the compressed video in the example was only 4 seconds long, hence the size of the compressed file.
