What a beautiful song!

Though I am familiar with Jennifer Warnes' Famous blue raincoat (often heared with friends) I must admit I know too little of Cohen's other songs and works.

I was captured by the insinuating monothone melodic line, and of course by the splendid images you chose, Eileen. Thanks again for what you create!

Not being one of my Cohen´s favourite, the tribute you pay to the song is like it always is with you: great, classy, admirably serious. The reason it´s not one of my favourites is because there isn´t much melody. The melody he always gave / gives us, in his songs. This sounds me more like recitation but after reading the description you generously provided we can (a little bit) guess this has more to do with some message he wanted to sing, or speak out.

I have heard Leonard Cohen is well studied in  many faiths. I did not know he spent 5 years in a Zen monastery. Thank You for the video and explanation. I am only beginning to learn of this song writer. Why so late ?Where was I? IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES OBVIOUSLY. I now must google Jennifer Warnes .
