There's no evidence in history of back to back 30-40 seat swings. It usually takes at least a decade to create the kind of political climate necessary for one.

I think your statement proves my comment on the tea parties. Fox was the only one to embrace it. Of course they had an incentive to do so, but the left media totally disregarded it. TylerNull, you do realize that Democrats had controlled the House since 1952? These big election swings usually don't happen within a decade of one another. There's no evidence in history of back to back 30-40 seat swings. It usually takes at least a decade to create the kind of political climate necessary for one.
Only way that happens is if unemployment is over 12% in Nov. 2010 and the economy is still shrinking, and most estimates don't have us on that path.

Obama is the most polarizing president by one metric, Democrat - Republican % approval.
The problem is that the Republican party has lost most of its moderates over the last 2 years, and the Democratic party has seen most of its registered Democrats become more liberal.
That's why Obama's numbers are 95% among Democrats and 20% among Republicans.
The only number that matters is his share among Independents, since Republicans won't vote for him in 4 years anyways. He's at around 60-65%.
