  • u need to cut dowm on the motor n rpm noise

  • get a 92 lexus sc 400 V8. im running 850hp to the rear wheels. super charged out the ass. at 80mph i can spin the tires no prob.

  • I remember reading that Kennie Bell did some V10 conversions of the Town Car and Continental.

  • Ford is Sweet! I have a 95, went through chevy like smokes, still have my 95 :) Sweet Video!

  • need older car

  • should make a modernized version of this song.. with k and n intake and a HiPo Throttle body u could really get lost. haha jk jk

  • the "un" will burn when they kicketh down at 70mph

  • this song rocks

  • My ThunderBird would smoke all your crappy cars

  • Looooooooove it! That guy used to teach at my university in the Art Dept.!!

  • Took him a while to get past 90.lol

My 1979 lincoln with the 4barrel 460 cid had no problems shootin towards 100..lol

  • It's not a good idea to show your license plate on the internet.

  • 275 HP! Aint no lie im smokin hella blunts in my Lincoln!

  • Love the video. Lincoln rules!!

  • my 1973 lincoln mark iv would blow the blows doors off that lincoln it has a built 460 with supercharger and posi rearend.

  • my 1973 lincoln mark iv would blow the blows doors off that lincoln it has a built 460 with supercharger and posi rearend.

  • forget the northstar and the conti get ya self a mark viii!

  • it would be good... but its FWD

  • @worldofwilfred Couldn't agree more. I don't care if this does goes 140 and does 0-60 in 5 seconds I'd rather have my 99 Town Car and have a heterosexual drive line.

  • Erase the governer I did on my police crown vic now it will bury the needle past 140mph.

  • Awesome vid man!!!

  • Lincoln is the most dependable American car. Gotta love the 4.6L, wish they still had it!.

  • ha ha, i see ya' never met speed. if ya' did i wouldn't be seein' this BS

  • You can grab the audio-mp3 of this tune at getyourmp3s doht cohm.

  • A car with that much horsepower should be rear wheel drive. I'd much rather have a Mark VIII or Towncar or LS V8.

    Still a fine car though.

  • @counterclockwise123 you couldnt beat a continental with a LS V8 but could with the mark

  • @g20s10silveradoman I can still do brakestands, donuts, and drift in an LS V8 though.

  • @counterclockwise123 that is true and a good point...but i'd rather own a Mark VIII can do it all with one car and beat mustangs

  • @g20s10silveradoman I agree, the VIII is one of my favorite cars. Someday I'll own one.

It breaks my heart that they're discontinuing the Town Car. One of my other favorite cars from Ford is the 1986 Crown Victoria, just like the one in Men In Black and the music video for Sabotage by The Beastie Boys.

  • @counterclockwise123 im looking at a 96 mark VIII for like 600 bucks.... and already own a 95 continental

  • @g20s10silveradoman Only 600?! it must have a lot of miles. iv been looking and even ones with 200 000 KMS are like 5 grand!

  • @counterclockwise123 blown air suspension definately plays a factor in price....as well as needing a new oil pan so definately not something to just get in and drive it does need work but runs and drives no problem hey for 600 bucks its worth it when you can get new air bags aftermarket for like 200/piece

  • u need to make it like the song says it was an older lincoln with a 4 barrel

  • Sum a gun! That reall is a hot rod lincoln!

  • Oh come on!! Front wheel drive???? four door sedan??? I don't think so!!!

  • i LAUNCHED one

  • You need to take a few links off that watch .50

  • I just got a 99 Continental for a winter beater:) I have to say that it drives great, and after the winter I"ll have to keep it:)

  • @manhoff1978 the northstar has no low end torque...Intech V8 FTW !

  • @gearhead291 Ever think about how cool it will look to do a wheelie in reverse? My conti's got; cold air intake, Flowmaster cat back exhaust ( I aint ever heard a better growl) I sometimes scare the crap out of old folks when I fire it up, I'M 75 SO IT'S ALL RIGHT.

  • @gearhead291 Thank You gearhead291. The Intech beats the Northstar in almost every way. While your engine roars even after 150,000 miles, most Northstars will develop oil consumption and cylinder head sealing problems after only 110,000 miles. Intech V8 FTW good sir.

  • @manhoff1978 Whats wrong with the Continental? Lincoln's are better quality! Drive what ever you like!

  • @manhoff1978 Caddy for poor people from the hood and senior citizens. Long live the ford luxury sedan!

  • @manhoff1978 Let's see you afford another Caddi after your engine blows the head gaskets and the head bolts all strip out upon repair. The last part of your statement makes absolutely no sense considering the vast majority of Northstars didn't make it to 100K before they were toast. :-P

  • @manhoff1978 caddi's are junk...thats why i cant find a lincoln with a INTECH in the junkyard to save my life..... unlike a northcrap cadillac 10 northstar caidillacs to 1 lincoln ...if im lucky to find a lincoln b/c ford made a DOHC design that actually lasted unlike GM

  • @manhoff1978 n/s's are f'n junk..The car's minus the motor are nice though.

  • @manhoff1978 Cadillacs are a poor man's Lincoln !!! HA HA GMC = Garbage Motor Company!

  • @balticrev no GMC= Garbage Manufacturing Company! LOL

  • @manhoff1978 hahaha at least....our head gaskets last and we can rebuild our engines

  • @manhoff1978 iNtECH BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @dillywhipper Have you ever thought of doing wheelie in reverse.. Can't afford to tear my pretty baby up, but I know it;s got to go up, way the f--- up.. Someones got to do it. The 'Prune'

  • @prunie81 sorry my tranny is already fucked up enough dont be puttin shit into my head lol

  • @manhoff1978 hahaha hows your head gasket lol

  • @manhoff1978 <<< Either you are a troll, or a idiot. Cadillacs with these engines loose their value so fast, any hood rat can buy a Northstar-Caddy. Most have oil consumption and cylinder head coolant sealing problems. Worthless cars. Get a old Caddy and then we'll talk.

  • Hot Rod Lincoln

  • took a linc conti to florida from cali once and back.. what a ride

  • i got my 06 custom zephyr, it beat an 06 CTS, such a good race. conti's r prety cool to

  • I've got a 97 lincoln, what year is that?

  • I have a 2000 Coninental. Thing gets up and moves. Beat my friends 2001 Buick Regal in a race lol.

  • the dvabel I had a pos 94 towncar i sold it I wish that i done the 514 cid v8 swap into it that would have been the ultimate hot rod lincoln

  • if ya really listen to the beganing its a FORD MODEL A with a lincoln engine!! that is what they did back in the day!

  • this is captain cody and he is not the original singer of this song.

  • k;.lijoukiyujhyhtrgefrdasbghhj

  • im buying one

  • I seriously doubt that a Conti can take either of my Mark VIII's off the line. Sure the Conti's are fast, they have 260-275hp. But my '96 Mark VIII has 280hp and is lighter than the Conti. My '97 Mark VIII has 290hp, lower diff gears, and is still lighter than the Conti. More power + lower weight = quicker off the line.

  • @tjhaywood100 well maybe a 97 mark, but i drove a nice 93 mark and it wasnt nearly as fast off the line as the conti.

go watch my vid "Lincoln Continental 0-60 6.48 sec" and see what i mean

  • @gearhead291 6.48 seconds is pretty good. I've never tiimed my Marks. I need to do that. I really don't know how fast they are. But my '96 GEN1 "feels" faster than my '97 GEN2 even though the '97 is an LSC with 10 more hp, ture duals, and 3rd cat removed. Most VIII owners seem to agree that the GEN1's were faster than GEN2's. And my "seat of my pants" stopwatch seems to agree. But I just can't see a FWD Connie getting the jump on a RWD Mark. But I could be wrong.

  • @gearhead291 Believe whatever you want. ;) The Gen 1 Mark VIIIs were faster than the Gen2s which had the same restrictive intake as the Continentals. There are too many factors out on the open road when trying to compare the two. Put a Gen 1 Mark VIII up ANY Continental at the 1/4 mile track anytime, and the Gen1 Mark VIII wins every time. I'd throw money down on that one. :-)

  • @gearhead291 Nice video! You should have had your ride set firm for high speed though. As an owner of a 97 Mark VIII LSC and a previous owner of a 01 Conti, I can say that the Mark is faster because the 97 & 98 LSC's have more ponies and lower gearing. But to be honest, who cares, they both fly in style and comfort. My Mark has 182K on it and still runs strong. You can't go wrong with either one of them. Caddies are for blue haired old ladies.

  • ok, people, because of the conti's gearing, it'll take a mark off the like... but 40mph and up the mark's got it.

  • Comment removed

  • the 99 and up continental had the 275 upgrade with some new cams or something,

Like I said, front wheel drive responds faster off the line due to the front end automatic transaxle...and lack of crankshaft drive...

By the way you pay out more of that energy cranking the shaft than an automatic transaxle's torque converter uses to power it, which = better fuel economy in the front wheeler, I can floor it all day long and still get upward of 22 mpg or about 12 L / 100 km Try that in a mark,.

  • @GodlessMartyr666

I regularly floor my '96 and I get 22.2mpg average. I got 29mpg driving to the beach a couple of years ago. Of course mine has the 3.08:1 diff. That contributes greatly to the high gas mileage. My '97 LSC normally gets around 20mpg because my wife drives it to work and its a short trip back and forth. The "faster" response of FWD is mostly an illusion. You get more wheelspin because all the weight shifts to the rear which makes you think it's faster.

  • normal fuel economy lies around 22-26 mpg if you aren't a lead foot speed demon on the track all day tho, for the size of the engine its damn efficient

  • Comment removed

  • Front-Wheel-Drive is for sissies! LOL! But it's still a nice car. But I absolutely despise FWD with a passion. I have never and will never own a FWD car. I have two Mark VIII's and love 'em! REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE and fast as hell!

  • Comment removed

  • @tjhaywood100 you got traction but a front wheeler will blow you out of the water off the line so long as the engines are equal front wheel takes off faster, and with a heavy ass 4000 lber like that , traction is ok... I mean yeah I wish it was a rear wheeler but at the same time I don't. My relationship with rear wheel drive is limited though, my first car was a front wheeler and now I have a 98 continental so, I dunno, maybe my opinion would differ if I owned something nice with RWD...

  • @GodlessMartyr666

Sorry but I must disagree. How fast a car is off the line depends upon the driver more than the drive wheels. I have no doubt that my Mark VIII will have no problem dusting off any FWD Connie it comes in contact with. The Connie has 275hp, my '97 Mark VIII LSC has 290 (more like 300+ with glasspacks and 3rd cat delete) and it weighs less than a typical FWD Connie. Either way, the Mark VIII will beat the FWD Connie any day of the week.

  • @tjhaywood100 well obviously if you got the tuned intech , but when I say quite clearly in plain english "so long as both engines are equal", I haven't a clue why you'd bring up the LSC... I have a 98 conti it only has 260 horses @ 5750 rpm, and I can quite easily take on a standard mark off the line.

  • @GodlessMartyr666

Okay. My base model '96 Mark VIII has 280hp, 20 more than the Connie. And again weighs less than a Connie. I don't think I'd have any problem getting the jump on a FWD Connie.

  • @GodlessMartyr666 The Connie and Mark VIII both had 4.6L DOHC V-8's. But the Connie had a detuned version of the Mark's engine because the FWD transaxle couldn't handle the power and torque of the Mark's engine. So the Connie and VIII will not have "equal" engines. Even the base VIII is more powerful and has more torque than the Connie.

  • @tjhaywood100 its really just an upgraded ford modular V8 of mustang cobra GT descent but ye detuned, on all lincoln models, especially so for the continental, with that said, if I did some work polishing bore heads and supercharging the continental I would see around 300 horse give or take, I also only have the stock mufflers... Its worthy to note octane booster can also increase the horsepower on these engines especially, I pulled 260 stock w.o it and 285 with gumout octane booster,.

  • @GodlessMartyr666 Actually, the Mustang Cobra has a Mark VIII engine. The DOHC aluminum 4.6L V-8 was first introduced in the '93 Mark VIII. It later migrated into the Cobra and other Ford models. Basically every 4.6L DOHC V-8 is an offshoot of the original '93 Lincoln Mark VIII version. I regularly use octane booster in both my Mark VIII's as well as occasionally pouring a couple of gallons of 110 octane CAM2 in the tank.

  • i got a 95 continental man just to hear that engine

  • p.s. you can remove the redline governor and it also removes the speed limiter assembly as they are part of the same gear

  • Hella Engine work spotted here!!!

  • my brother's 2000 lincoln continental will blow your's out of the water

  • @pooppooppoop32: rightt...

  • @pooppooppoop32 your brother will also damage his tranny and torque converter with that pretty well useless extra 15 horses I achieved more than that with blowers and muffler kits.

  • @pooppooppoop32 lol, and what about yours son? :-)

  • who sings this

  • Continental? It's front wheel drive!

Be a real man and not a bitch, and get you a Mark VIII.

  • Pretty cool video. I have a F-250 Super Crew 4X4 with the 6.8 V-10. Superchip, Cat-back, K&N....etc....One night I sent my wife a video from my cell phone pulling 122 (gps verified). All she texted back was "you're an a-hole" LOL!!

    First On Race Day

  • This would be a great car commercial. You should send it in to Ford :D

  • great video. My 95 with 135.000 is still going strong.....

  • nice vid! do you have a shift kit i herd it bark?

  • your watch is to big and it looks rediculous..lol

  • im sorry but the continental is nowhere near a hotrod. heavy, fwd with a detuned DOHC 4.6 just my opinion. i do however find them to be luxury at it's finest. the interiors were nicer then the mark viii's.

  • My Grandpa used to let me drive his 1993 Lincoln Continental before I was old enough to drive...awesome car! Too bad my aunt blew the engine...the "Stinkin' Lincoln" had only 100,000 miles.

    Great video by the way!

  • Only downfall of the last Continentals would be that horrible AX4N transmission.

  • I don't know why Ford would put such a weak transmission with such a powerful motor.

  • @randomness1845 they detuned it. lol.

  • best car ever i got a 96 wit the 4.6 and i love it. bad air ride tho. love it just the same

  • Yeah, ive gotta 97 with the 4.6. The air ride sucks.

  • @MrDylham nah. you could get a Mark VIII, Rear Wheel drive and 40 more horsepower. :D

  • I have a 96 Continental, and it really helps to have a shift package installed, bumped up my fuel economy by about 80 miles, and shifts like a dream. Not that it didn't before, but driving it has become a new experience, rivalled by few and impressive to all.

  • i got a 97 and am wondering what is the shift package?

  • it's supposed to shift sooner and extend the overall life of your transmission. i had the transmission completely rebuilt, and after that particular modification, not only did i get better mileage, but it drives better than ever. more responsive.

  • thats cool cuz with city mpg of about 15-16 and highway cruising at 80 is about 16-18 (unless you go to 70 then its 26 mpg) its good to get better mpg. where did you go to get it or the website

  • my conti looks exactly like yours :)

  • i know my mothers '95 continental will smoke a '95 cobra with the 302... fwd will take any rear wheel drive.. remember its all about leaving the line

  • clearly your car knowledge is incredible and un-beatable.

  • i want one

  • those newer models don't relate, and it makes the video lame

  • yeah... he should drop a 427 ford racing big block with a 5-speed manual ford racing trany

  • A week after this video his ax4n transmission blew up.

  • who? i drive like a bat outta hell and my orginal transmission is still kickin.

  • Seems like they have problems holding up in Tauruses behind a 3 liter.

  • the 4.6 modular converted to FWD was a bad idea but Ford has always made a great transmission

  • I'd be afraid of a v8 on top of an ax4n transmission ... they had problems behind the 3.0 in the taurus.

And it's gotta be nose heavy.

  • i hear ya there. Lincoln Continentals actually drive great, however.

  • @gearhead291 hahaha this idiots comment scared me until I saw your response and realised he doesn't know you at all and your car is still P how many miles on her dude I just payed $2,500 for a 98 with black interior has 209,000kms i dunno what that is in miles but its a sweet car

startin to rust tho... unfortunately,. still nice and I payed for it so tell me do they all make weird noises in the cabin or is it just mine?

  • @gearhead291 hahahahah yo I burned out the tranny on mine last night goin 100 miles an hour accellerating past 130, *( further than the speedometer will go ) and not lettin up for about 500 miles... Needless to say the check transmission warning came on and I could hear it on fire in there lol ill be takin it easy on this 130,000 miles strong "retired" beast from now on

  • i have 73 licoln with a custom built engine with 526 house power i could easly beat any new lincon also has posi rear end.

  • LOL okayy buddy. try a mark 8. i bet there is tons of guys near where you live and would smoke you silly.

  • i wish these were rear wheel drive

  • The song is about a "Ford Model A with a flat head Lincoln engine in it.

  • wish there were more guys like you over here where i live. its mostly hondas that get this treatment.

  • i think this vid is great. doesnt need to be redone if you ask me.

  • wel it was gonna be mostly the same, just with newer better videos

  • DO IT DO IT DO IT!! :D this ones awesome cant wait to see the next one!

  • hah my parent gave me a cd with this song when I got my 95 continental as a graduation gift

  • Comment removed

  • there is not a 2004 lincoln continental.

make a video to prove you did that & then ill believe you

  • 1925run you sound really really gay when you said that...

  • love the vid i had a 94 contenital signature series

  • Love the song!

  • "Fords and Lincolns set the pace" - quoted from the song. True in some ways with Ford, VERY true with Lincolns. They SET the standard for luxury performance sedans.

By the way, awesome compilation of Lincoln vids. We all appreciate this.

  • thanks

  • Comment removed

  • I have a 95 Mark VIII I love blasting this song a smoking some mustangs. They see "Grandpas car" and think its nothing until they are staring at tailights. Its a fun time.

  • one of the best cars in the world :)

will there be a new continental?

  • not likely

  • Ford is focusing on more compact sedans due to the economy. If they do re-release the continental, it won't be until the economy is back up and running.

  • thats funny to me. I mean if there putting out the new taurus SHO, why not rerelease the continental? i know they would share the same platform just as they did when the continental was discontinued.

  • i wanna mercury marauder ltd thet are like crown vitorias but they are on steriods... did you know ford owns volvo, jaguar, mnercury and licnoln? ford is wayyyyyyyyyyy better then gm. they are going out of buisness lol

  • they also share some platforms with mazda like the mazda6/fusion and the tribute/escape and B-Series/Ranger

  • man i would love one of these! i was driving behind one of these once. an old lady was driving it, going well below the speed limit. i was like, "come on! you got all that power under the hood!"

  • lol

  • I'm goona have to make you some vid's of the bottle fed conti when it gets warm out.

  • on the bottle? how's the tranny handling it? i know my tq converter is going out , im gonna prolly gonna get a rebuilt-stronger tranny with a shift kit when mine goes.

maybe then will i be able to do some serious mods lol

  • Fogot how good of a job you ddi puting this together, nice man.

  • thanks

  • nice ride man. they need to bring the continental back

  • ok, after you did any of your top speed runs, did your check engine light come on, cause it did for me and when i got it checked out it said maximum speed reached, just wondering cause ive never heard of anybody else's do that

  • uhh what year is yours and what excact speed were you at when it happened?

  • its a 98 and im guessing it was 125mph

  • well ive never had mine to the limiter so

    get in touch with

mattnstyle here on youtube he's has his up to those speeds

  • hey gearhead how did u made the headlights so clear... my headlights are starting to become foggy.... pls tell me gearhead....pls pls pls.......

  • once again who are you?

go to walmart buy the headlight cleaner restorer in a little silver pack

    for 19.99

  • damn gearhead u went over 125 mph,,, pretty scary

  • not me'

    that vid was from youtube

  • Hey this is a great video! I am thinking about buying one of these things.

  • there great cars, just be careful with the transmission--there not bullet-proof

  • Sadly enough, that's not too uncommon with most Ford products.
