What kind of guitar is this ? I know it's not an Alvarez Yairi DY-87

not very many good double neck guitars and those DY-87's are hard to find ..

@capo420420 hey Jeff.. It is a DY-87. It's probably the Japan model though, so instead of Alvarez its probably made by Y.Yairi.. which means it's even better

My guitar looks identical except for the headstock.

It sounds so beautiful , i can hardly imagine one sounding BeTTeR !! haha ..

Maybe i'll get to Japan one day and get a chanced to compare them side-by-side :)

@capo420420 sorry I made a mistake.. I believe it's actually "K. Yairi". I'm looking at some Alvarez acoustics right now, although I dont have much of a budget. The yairi's from Japan sound so incredible. That's what T's custom guitar is, it was made by K.Yairi. did you pick up yourself one of these DY-87's? How did you find it and how much was it? I'm so jealous

@usernamethis ah ok , thanks .. I've had Alvarez Yairi ( AY as some refer to them ) and those sound great. The straight "Alvarez" line seems too heavily braced for me.

Good for LiVE but not so great for studio. Of course in the studio you walk a fine line between "boomy / TOO lightly braced" and "Tight / suppressed wood tone"

I haven't mic'd up the AY double neck yet but , i know by what i hear it's gonna be GREAT !! ..

I'm sure the vintage wood has something to do with that too ( to be cont )

an ebay guy wanted $2500 & not a penny less.

I abandoned that quest & soon after, as if it was "un-avoidable" someone googled, found MY comment on youtube regarding the awesomeness of this guitar, and CONTACTED ME ! haha YaY

and eh, if i tell you what i paid, you may fall out of ur chair , hit your head on something or end up in anger management classes .. lol

I literally found the money on the ground.

to me it's "obviously" a blessing directly from God.
