Sims 2 can't build? [FIXED!] *new*

I couldn't get it to work. I could never just click the icon on my desktop and play the game. I always had to mount it and go to my Computer and click on the drive directly. I tried clicking on the icon on my desktop after doing all of this and the letters at 3:59 actually popped up, but like always I got 'Unspecified Error'. Then I went on to my 'Computer' and tried to open it like I normally do and got a message saying it wasn't compatible with my version of Windows. I'm using Windows 7. Help?

i installed everything like you mentioned in the video...but when i tried to open the game after installation, i get an error message saying "appcrash"..so i cant play anymore...also im using Win7....so would that make any difference?

format time.reg is getting saved as just a text file. What's up? Did I do something wrong? lol

@shinigamijesi i think you got this file name: "Format time.reg.txt" right? Just rename it and remove .txt ---- If you can't see the extension file just go to Tools > Folder Options > View > and make sure you unchecked the Hide extensions for known file types.

@28cally No, u cannot mount the crack of the game ever. I'll give u an example, let say, you have installed expansion like Sims 2 pets on your computer and you want to play it, just mount first the "Sims2_1.mdf" like on this video and then just simple click the shortcut icon of Sims 2 pets on ur desktop to run the game. That's all so simple. BUT make sure you have a crack of that Sims 2 pets expansion.
