is it me, or is julie pretty much the most perfect person who has ever and will ever live? shes GORGEOUS, funny, has an awesome figure, she has a heavenly voice, and theres no end to her list of talents :)
I wish I looked like Julie Andrews. I think she's the most-attractive actress of her day, and for all time. I know I'd kill for those legs instead of the tree stumps I have...
I think the voice differences almost go along the line of folk vs classical. Julie having that classical lyric tone while Carol has the deeper mezzo of a folk singer. =^..^=
thanks for posting this collaboration of the two ladies. I was just a kid then but can remember being dressed up to see them when my mom got tickets. Great memory!
I can't get over how many songs Carol's was the more appropriate voice. Perhaps it was the bluesy nature of 60's music? Julie's was pretty but didn't seem to have the power Carol's did. I never really thought of Carol as a singer before tonight when I stumbled on these from the "What's my Line" clip of Carol
YAY!! YES!!!! BEATLES!! HAHAH!!! BEATLES!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I knew they were going to sing some Beatles!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!! HAHAH!!!!! OH YES!! Some of my two favorite people singing about my other 4 favorite :D
They are just, amazing I bought all the songs from this and downloaded this onto my itunes I just got addicted to their voices :LL, I listened to it only a few days ago for the first time and i already know all the words! I think i might just be a little sad ;)
My best friend and I memorized this off the album and used to sing it while crusing around like teeagers do. LOL I still remember the french intro 30yrs later! Thanks for posting and thanks for the memories!
HAHAHA I LOVE LOVE LOVE when Julie just randomly starts to ramble on in French!!!! But she goes so fast!!!! lol I'm supose to memorize what she says!!!! Good thing I'm in French!!! ohh la la!! LOL Je t'aime!!!
6:17 Carol starts to sing a song called By The Time I Get To Phoenix. Reba McEntire recorded it for an album of songs by other artists she liked around 1995(6). =]
@Blitzcomo I was SO about to write the EXACT same thing about Julie saying "I get high." What is it about that that makes it so funny?!? I actually laughed out loud when I heard that. :)
@Jennafu832 I think it's cause we all think of her as that innocent mary poppins/ maria character and then she says "high" and our brains get confuzzled XD
@KimLoveJulie Hopefully this will help. I don't have the audio BUT you can dowload "Atube catcher" for free and it lets you take audio from the actuall clip. I have downloaded it and i have found it very usefull in getting audio that you can't actualy get Lol. I do hope that helps in a way :):)
It's I Love Rock and Roll by Peter Paul and Mary, continuing on from what Julie was singing (: I love it too, beautiful harmony...
This is such a great medley, and Carol & Julie and such fantastic singers (:
Does anyone know what Carol is singing from 3:36 to about 4:42? I am currently trying to put together all the guitar chords to this medley, if anyone is interested in me posting it somewhere when I'm done...
@wouldyalikajellybaby yes! please post! and i think Julie and Carol both look so beautful here. they always have been gorgeous, but i think it was during this time period where they were looking at their best. they both had amazing hairstyles and stuff. just perfect together! (:
oh thank you well i was not sure if i should ask for a list....i know all the beatles song because im a beatles fans but this songs a very beautiful too and two amazing singers and actress.
And here.. - This Girl's In Love With You - Aretha Franklin - Georgie Girl - The Seekers - Hello, Dolly - Louis Armstrong - Sesame Street Theme - The Muppets - Moon River - Audrey Hepburn - Eleanor Rigby - The Beatles - People - Barbra Streisand - What The World Needs Now Is Love - The Carpenters - Come Together - The Beatles - Put Your Hand In The Hand - Anne Murray - Let It Be - The Beatles
- Up, Up And Away - The Fifth Dimension - Do You Know The Way To San Jose - Dionne Warwick - Leaving On A Jet Plane - John Denver - I've Been Away So Long.. ? I don't find what is that song. - By The Time I Get To Phoenix - Glen Campbell - Downtown - Petula Clark - Feelin' Groovy - Simon & Garfunkel - Sunny - Bobby Hebb - Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head - Hal David - You've Made Me So Very Happy - Blood, Sweat & Tears - The Girl From Ipanema - Jobim
I *think* that what you have listed as "I've Been Away So Long" is actually just them continuing the lyrics from "Do You Know The Way To San Jose", as that is the line that follows in the lyrics. (Do you know the way to San Jose/ I've been away so long/ I may go wrong/and lose my way.)
For those who don't speak french here is whar Julie says: "Tonight we'll started where we stopped, in kanigioh (er...what the hell is that...I guess it's a city...) we presented a mix of songs from the year 1900, now we'd like to go on with the 10 past years". She makes a couple of mistakes but her accent is excelent, it's great to finally hear her speaking in my tong : ) I love her. Love from Paris!
Loved their short rendition of "Moon River" and "Let it be"! The only thing that could've made "Moon River" better is if Audrey Hepburn (or at least her voice) appeared in that segment.
No, her singing wasn't dubbed in Breakfast at Tiffany's. And there is no piano in the song either. For the dubbing, you're probably mistaking with My Fair Lady..
This great clip is mislabled - there's no 1950s here. As they say in the intro, these are songs from the decade after their classic 1962 Carnegie Hall concert.
Hi, because you are french... could you do me a big favour? Could you write down the french julie says? I'm trying to write the whole lyrics but my french (in being Dutch) just is not enough!
Hi there (Yes thats's me, I deleted my account but created a new one)
"Ce soir , nous allons commencé où nous sommes finis. A Carnegie Hall nous avons présenté un mélange de chansons de l'année dix-neuf cent [1900]. Maintenant nous aimerions continuer avec les dix ans passés."
Later "Oui, peut-on commencer ? " / "Oui, voulez-vous" [then I don't catch what Carol says either]
Hope this helps. So you're Dutch ? I saw a video with Audrey Hepburn speaking Dutch, she made it sound lovely ;-)
were does julie say when i get high because i didnt hear her say it x

I *think* that what you have listed as "I've Been Away So Long" is actually just them continuing the lyrics from "Do You Know The Way To San Jose", as that is the line that follows in the lyrics. (Do you know the way to San Jose/ I've been away so long/ I may go wrong/and lose my way.)

I made the list of all the songs they sing in that medley. I made it for me, but if it's any use to someone, here it is ! :)
- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
- With A Little Help From My Friends - The Beatles
- And The Beat Goes On - Sonny And Cher
- I Dig Rock And Roll - Peter, Paul & Mary
- Everybody Is Talking At Me - Harry Nilsson
- Gentle On My Mind - Glen Campbell
- Little Green Apples - Roger Miller
- Both Sides Now - Joni Mitchell
- If - Bread
