I think the voice differences almost go along the line of folk vs classical. Julie having that classical lyric tone while Carol has the deeper mezzo of a folk singer. =^..^=

I can't get over how many songs Carol's was the more appropriate voice. Perhaps it was the bluesy nature of 60's music? Julie's was pretty but didn't seem to have the power Carol's did. I never really thought of Carol as a singer before tonight when I stumbled on these from the "What's my Line" clip of Carol

I *think* that what you have listed as "I've Been Away So Long" is actually just them continuing the lyrics from "Do You Know The Way To San Jose", as that is the line that follows in the lyrics. (Do you know the way to San Jose/ I've been away so long/ I may go wrong/and lose my way.)
