They walked there to complain about not receiving any government assistance.

As Irrawaddy went to report on Wednesday, despite the announcement of a major multilateral operation to determine the scope of cyclone Nargis on Burma, 18 cyclone victims (women and children) were arrested following their call for help at the UN's office in Rangoon. They walked there to complain about not receiving any government assistance.
On May 23rd the UN' Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, met General Than Shwe to secure free access for foreign aid and support to the victims of Nargis.

In 1990 the party she led, The National League for Democracy, won the parliamentary elections in Burma (with 85% of the vote), but the military junta refused to turn over the government and placed her under house arrest. She has now spent 12 of the last 18 years under house arrest.

North Korean women sold into Chinese farms live like animals, beaten and sexually abused by their Chinese husbands. In many instances North Korean women have to please all of the men in a Chinese household just to get food.
How much longer must we sit and watch these women live such horrific lives in North Korea and be sold off for just W46,000?

There are many polluted sites in the Hunan
