  • It looks like it was filmed on a cell phone, but it is never the tools...its the talent. Great video. Love the moves.

    Hahaha!

  • uberLOL

  • respect xp

u are really better than me xp

  • where did you learn all this from?

  • Almost all of the moves seen in this video are my own creations. =)

Otherwise, I learn stuff here and there from Dan and Dave's material and stuff. A mixture of everything.

    - Ling

  • btw, you are in Singapore right?

  • uhmm what is the meaning of "katarche" ?

  • Hey Ken111292,

    From Wiki:

Katarche is an ancient Greek word meaning a "beginning" or "inception."

    - Ling

  • whr can buy bicycle or aladdin playing card in singapore ??? i going sg soon , cos malaysia hard to find .

  • Hello there.

You can find all sorts of cards at a shop called Hor Yit Meng Trading at Golden Landmark Shopping Centre, at Bugis/Beach Road, it's located rather near Bugis MRT. =)

Other shop would be The Magic Hall at Douby Ghaut area, but that place is more focused on magic products.

    Hope that is helpful,

    Ling

  • thx!

  • nice nice nice.

  • wow wow wow and wow still acnt believe it.. just like what katie buck did.. salute...

  • Katie Buck doesn't exist.

  • is it? but i just saw her video thru youtube.. haha nevermind i still prefer D&D Buck though..

  • Anyone spotted the irony of the ferris wheel at the end of the video? The notion of a (vicious) cyclical existence despite my appeal for individualism? Ah, I love inserting such stuff. ^^

  • good video glad to see females doing this.how long do you practice and i love the music whats the song and title can you tell me its awsome and by the way your fucking good.

  • Hi MagicMan1104.

I have been touching cards since late 2004. The song title is Future Sound of Music by Ulver. And, thanks for those very kind words. =)

    - Ling.

  • Hi Ling,

I have to say, the video had some rather invoking atmospheres, especially with the music.

An excellent blend of philosophy and amazingly executed flourishes.

    I am in awe.

It's just a pity I didn't get to see more of your stuff when we met for all of the brief hour or two at Starbucks with 3 out of the 4 Virts and Erik.

    Maybe someday.

    Cheers,

    Joel

  • Hey Joel.

Glad to see someone enjoying this video. =)

Yeah, that meetup last December was a little too short. When you happen to pop by again, let's have a proper session, lol. Yep.

Til then, thanks for those very encouraging words on this video,

    Ling. =)

  • "At last, my arm is complete again." ^_^

  • been waiting for this video....finally its uploaded nice work ling love the moves and background =)

  • I'll be honest here, with the detractors. I can only say that it's immensely presumptuous to presume to know what Ling had in her mind when she conceptualised the video. To call her pretentious the way she applies her love of philosophy to cardistry is arrogant, to say the least. At least consider this: she may see a deeper connection between philosophy and cardistry than you do.

In short, give her the benefit of the doubt. Her love in philosophy is not false.

  • Great flourishes, but the 'philosophy' aspect of it was pretty diar, it was not philosophy it was some pretentious quotes that had infact very little to do with the forming of skills or "an art form" as you put it. It justt seemed like you were trying to be far too clever for what is essentially, a card flourishing video. 3.5/5, but ill round up because im in a good mood. Laters

  • Would you rather watch a million videos with "XXX presenting..." instead of one with a more complete essence? =)

It's always good to inject some variety and increase the vibrancy, or do you rather dwell in a state of perpetual dullness and conventionalism?

I quite dislike the fact that you baselessly labelled me as ''trying to be clever'' when you have never conversed with me once. =)

    Nonetheless, thanks for the input.

    -Ling

  • how is this more "complete" then other flourishing videos?... Maybe im just too dumb to understand this philosophy but the first minute of you walking around while quotes that dont relate to cardistry is just too corny. I'd have know idea what u were sayin until i read your sidenote.... besides the beginning minute, it was fairly good

  • Ling, seriously, do you understand what your saing?

you're assuming that by adding a philisophical element it automatically makes your video more 'complete', and that suddenly i am 'dwelling it a state of dullness and conventionalism' oh my god... if that does not say precocious in big letters im really not sure what does.

If you beleive flourishing videos are 'dull' then stop making them. By adding unrelated quotes into a poor quality video does not make you an inivator in video making.

  • Thanks for your input here.

But seriously, if you don't like my video, why are you *still* here, on your persistent rampage? Go elsewhere and continue watching whatever makes your day better. I am not forcing anyone, you know. You're a troll. And, I don't feed trolls.

    Goodbye.

  • Very interesting video; first one I've seen that actually includes any philosophical background in it. Camera quality could be better, but the moves are great ;D

  • I like the concept, it's good to finaly see it come to life, you've told me about it a while back :P. Can't comment on the flourishes, they were intact. I liked the backgrounds. The boys did a good job with the camera. It has been said so many times that the quality makes u bite teeth ,but hey we work with what we have.

    cheers Ling :)

    Kate

  • Nice Nice, those flourishes were awesome. I missed the tornado^^, still sweet.

  • the only thing that wasn't good was the quality....and for the info....this is already known....awesome ling

  • ohhhhhmyyyyygoshhhhhhh

Watching this video made me want to die because I kept think about how awesome this would be with a nicer cam! I really enjoyed your moves and your fluidity, yet the originality did not end with the moves; I loved the angles...reupload in higher quality?

  • you are amazing ling love the work

  • Finally a solo video!

I enjoyed it. Though, if I'm honest, the bad quality of the video made it difficult to enjoy.

Are you sure you've rendered it in a high enough quality? Try changing the render settings and then re-upload.

  • Yes! So much for procrasinating.

I am aware that the quality sucked. Gah.

  • Very good video!!!

Veru good scenery, moves, all was great.

Why didnt you do your ultrafast tornado?!!??XD.

We all wanted to see it XD.

Only one thing, you need to take a better videocamera, a vid like that need HD at least XD
