  • ron wood e rod stewart just match

  • Sorry, Elton. I prefer Rod. Great rendition. Classic.

  • What if Paul Mcdonald choose this song instead of scotty, maybe he did it well too since he sounds like Rod Steward.

  • Ronnie Laine I guess, thanks

  • who sings the backup harmony at the end of this> thanks

  • @dogcplayers - Ron Wood.

  • Yes, Elton John, Scotty Mccreery versions of this song are good. Subjectively, this version is THE BEST!! Ronnie Lane seals the deal, playing bass and adding background vocals. Very cool. Peace:)

  • Muswell Hills finest export till the Gforce came along.!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Haha an American Idol contestant trump Rod Stewart? "What kind of facts are those?"

    -Jay Z

  • Country comforts and the road that's going home. Don't get no better than that.

  • Scotty Mcreery's version is better than Rod's and Elton John's version. I like Rod Stewart's style, but Scotty sings this song with more emotion on American Idol, and the country vibe is better with his voice.

  • rods heaps better, puts more feeling into the song...

  • what a legend

  • all you stupid ppl sayin eltons is better next laught rod all the way

  • I have both versions and I like Rod's version better

  • This rendition is the best one of all.

  • Rods voice gives it the edge for me.Great song

  • rex allen jr.'s version is the best, and the original one, i guess

  • @TheRyskwic - do you know if Keith Richards likes Rod Stewart?

  • @shimokita2 that's chipper singing back up.

  • @shimokita2 .........Why wouldn't they like each other , they been mates since they were in there teens ....I'm sure there were more than a few late nights , I have a DVD ~ The Faces with Keith Richards ! it's great ......Ciao

  • @baby69ization KEITH RICHARDS WAS NOT IN FACES IT WAS RON WOOD . SORRY WRONG GUITARIST

  • @cash1115 Of course he wasn't in Faces !!! I said i own a DVD ~ The Faces with Keith Richards ..............He was a guest at the show as if the title didn't do it for ya READ the message before making an ignorant comment

  • @baby69ization hey dick head a little hostile arent we . with a name like baby 69 you think you'd be a little less angery . or it could be your sexual preference and favorite position with ... so suck it faggot !!

  • @revlaz I think that's pretty much what I said?

  • I think it's ludicrous to compare the two versions - Rod & Elton. The interpretation is so different. Rod has that soul/suave delivery & Elton just punches it out the way only Elton can do. I own both albums & they're both *superb*! Do yourself a favor & listen to the song on the cd before trying to make *any* comparisons off You Tube...there are none!

  • rod brings more heart to it by far

  • I don't like how he butchered the lyrics..

  • GREAT SONG

  • What a song. My god. Thank you for this hymn!!!!!

  • One of Rod's best interpretations from one of his best LP's. Thanks for sharing!

  • Rod's version has more soul, both great

  • no way rod has heaps more heart to it than eltons eltons version is okay but noway has the feelings of rods i love drinking green ginger wine and singing to this really loud in my backyard lol

  • @talentscout27 I love Rods version the best,he puts more of a stronger sound,Eltons is more country,Rods is more rock...

  • Is that Ronnie Wood on guitar? Such a Great song...."that aint natural, old man Grayson says...."

  • @incident85 Yaman i think Ron Wood played in Faces with Rod for a while, could be mistaken though.

  • @cantarooots yes he did ronnie was lead guitar of faces

  • これが一番スキです。ありがとう。

  • This is the version that i only heard of ,until i heard eltons

  • Never heard this version. I love it. Thanks for posting it.

  • Who's the other voice we hear on this?

  • This is Ronnie Lane who sang background in this version, piano played Elton John. First record is a live bootleg with the Faces.

  • If anyone who has had a grandma who lived on the farm like I did this song has special meaning.

  • Oh, Grandma's farm...fresh produce, chickens, cows, pigs, fruit trees, a barn we should have died jumping out of...and nothing like grandma's homecooking!

  • I'M NOW PUSHING AGE 70 .

I saw him in concert @Lexington,Ky.when I was in my 50's.

I have loved Rod Stewart for years.

  • Thanks for the cool reminder of theold days, although im use to hearing Eltons Connections album its been awhile since i heard this version w/ Ron wood on guitar. Thanks ! Best Regards Thomas

  • Lacks the feel and atmosphere of Elton John's original!

  • Totally agree with you. Elton brings more heart to it.

But Rod's version is nice though!

  • Cool! You know what I mean!

  • @Miniermotte hate to argue but rod does give it that country feel.. a voice I would die 4. and a lovely chilled out arrangement. music is a vice with no drawbacks

  • what a song!!!! Have loved Rod for years, turned my kids on to him, and they love him too!!

  • I totally agree with you, aerosmithdu17.

As far as I´m concerned Rods version is much better.

  • @rodrocksforever

Just a touch of Mick Taylor (former Stones) is missing in the back!

  • pourrais tu me dire ce qui ne vas pas dans mon commentaire pour avoir mis -1??? merci

  • I agree. Rod is the man, great version.
