BrooklynNYC777, before you have a heart attack, I just thought you should know that iray WILL work on the desktop. They are simply showing that with Reality Server you can IF YOU WANT to use multiple GPUs over multiple systems. I played with iray locally on a single GPU and it works. It's just not as fast.

iray is just like any other rendering engine, except it uses the GPU and you don't have to worry about setting sample settings etc. You just create the materials, the lights and let it render until you are happy with the quality.  Which on the GPU is not very long.

i dont think it takes 15 quadros. it just has 15 GPUs on one quadro. as an example. not entirely sure but i believe this is how it works

How does something have 15 gpu's on one quadro? A quadro is a gpu.

i believe that "quadro" is the physical board (like a motherboard) and the gpu is slapped on the side. so like a motherboard you can get multiple processors, you can get multiple GPUs on a graphics card

as i say im not entirely sure and i could be wrong but i believe thats how it works
