Heard the song 'The Opening', and thought wow that's real good. heard this, holy balls I'm buying this album... I don't like any other song but the two haha. The genre is soooo different.
I swear I've heard this song used in an Adult Swim black screen at some point. I may be wrong, but Adult Swim does look at and expose some really great musicians / tracks.
whats sad imo is that many people listen to trip hop, big beat, many kind of break styles, in youtube, in commercials and they like it, but they dont bother finding more of the same genre. Its always the clients fault imo :P
Places my whole mind into another state or being. I am walking through the mall and listening to this makes everything seems so damn materialistic and truly worthless. It's because this music brings out a spirituality that goes beyond materialistic wants. Corporate greedy bastards with all the power don't want the majority to think. I think that's a bit relevant...
@Demoniqueful Of course it's relevent mate, Why else would we have these talentless autotuned fucking pricks in the charts today instead of saltillo, the music industry along with any corperation for that matter want's to keep everyone simpleminded so that they can sell their useless shit to materialistic people and keep them closeminded by telling them what's popular and what isn't . We live in a sad world .
one of the most emotional pieces of music that i have ever had the pleasure to feel and listen, there is light in hearing music like this, in a time where most are out of rhythm and the soul in music in a contemporary age has lost its vision, this piece has completely inspired a new movent of expression and a new choregraphy for my being, i look forward to creating with this music..... Thankyou for your vision, absolutely, infinately beautiful....
when I listen to this song only battle scenes comes in my mind.... like the war in Iraq... Afghanistan... Kosovo... castualties etc... :).... very sad song
I just found this recently. And it is seriously the most beautiful thing I've heard in a very very long time. I am so happy I found this. Thank you, Saltillo.
Aha, guys btw. Im indian and Im pretty certain its either Hindi or Urdu, since they are 95% similar. Like he says in the first line of the singing he talks about his hearts world. Then further on about giving his "blood for his country". My mum translated a bit, I only understand a few words in the song. Its defo not Ravi Shankar. This isnt his style. The emphasis with the throat leads me to believe it is Urdu, but I may be wrong.
This brings me back to the days I played viola...I miss those days. It is also the ONLY song that I like that is indian, growing up as an indian I always hated Indian songs, this changed my mind.
It boggles my mind how all that pop crap that keeps on playing in radio makes millions of dollars and pure musical geniuses like Saltillo only get to few affocinados... what a pity, and how unfair.

Apart from the aalap in the song the lyrics are urdu. Here's how they go as per my limited knowledge.
Lyrics: Jab qayamat(?), gulistan ko to khoon. Maine diyaa.
Roughly tranlates into: On the day of judgement(?), I was the one who gave my blood to the garden of roses.
What it means? Well, that's up to what you're willing to interpret, isn't it?
Peace.
