This scene was originally from another movie, but was never used. And the creators of hancock did not want to pay lots of money to make a computer edited scene of a tornado in the streets so they found this scene that looks like a tornado, when really it could easily be something else and part of the movie had to do with whatever this figure is. They put it in this part and hoped that people wouldn't notice the figure.

I'm glad somebody else saw that and posted it. I think that movie was riddled with New Age/occult imagery and philosophies. Think about it...according to the movie, "Hancock" and "Mary" (same name as the woman who gave birth to the savior) were called "gods" by ancient people. Now, as the god and goddess join up, there appears a strange falcon-headed creature walking among men. I think this is an allusion to the false Christ that New Agers and others expect to appear.

If you remember the scene at Ray and Mary's home after she tore up the front side of their house, at the end of the next scene Ray asks Mary "Is it hot in here?". Also, remember the popcorn popping when Mary was in Hancock's dump. They are a pair and there is a lot of passion between them that heats up the atmosphere. While they were fighting on the ground they heated the lower air so the cold air descending met with the hot air creating a tornado. This is how tornadoes develop. Physics.

I've seen the extras from the dvd and they show that part being filmed. It IS a guy on stilts but for what purpose I don't know. He is wearing some kind of outfit so he could be anyone from a street performer, to a creature that may be explained in a sequel. Who knows.
