I didnt realise they covered Killer. I only knew the brilliant George Micheal version from the early 90s when the vid was being played on MTV. Just before christmas I found out Seal sang on the original. SInce I like sugababes, Im delighted to hear they covered it with that sound they got going on the on their albums from the 2000s.

Is this song on an album or is it a b-side on some single?

You are so wrong. They were ASKED to do this for a charity record. The original Sugababes wrote all the songs on their first three albums, including the first album when Mutya was still only 15. And their B Sides were so experimental, this is why people like Jools Holland respect Mutya so much. Pre-2005 they were the very opposite of your typical talentless girl bands. @ipolson I'm sure their first four albums, ie: until Mutya left, will become classics of the best Pop Music......!!! And you are 100% right about the B-sides, it's almost unconceivable they were left aside for the albums ("Like the Weather", "Colder in the Rain", "Someone in my bed" and of course "Disturbed").

@robbedontuesday: I agree 100%. I think its a testiment to the number of good songs they wrote at that time, that there were too many for a single album. How many groups write so many good, original songs that they have an 'overflow' and have to put them on singles ? Most don't have enough for the album !

I did read Keisha's twitter page, where someone had obviously asked her about Mutya. She said she really missed singing with her but couldn't do anything at the moment cos she was contracted to make a solo album. But, after that ?.... you never know

@ipolson Actually, I don't know what that is because although I knew them since 2003, I didn't really become an inconditional fan until 2006, months after Mutya had left. It did happen to me with "Real Girl" I mean, in real time. I even saw Mutya performing "B-Boy baby" on T-mobile, around october 2007.

However, I cannot avoid the amazing feeling when discovering a new (old) song, like "This aint no party thing".

I's a bit more complicated than that... the first version of 'Killer' was an instrumental by Adamski (it's on the 'Adamski vs the Sentinels' album). He later met Seal, who had a Lyric called 'Killer'. For fun, Seal sang it over Adamski's music, and they found it fitted pretty well. The song was re-released as 'Adamski ft Seal', re-released again by Seal, and covered several times by various people since.

Sorry to say this, but this song is horrible. People - listen to the original by George Michael and you'll see. It's just that every cover George Michael does is awesome and better than the original, but any time someone tries to cover George, the outcome is so poor that I cannot bear it. Believe me, I know some 99% of his songs. He's the talent we won't have again, no matter how bad his private life is.
