@coolL9457 I'm with you.. I dislike NASCAR, actually I find it boring... but America has more road courses (non-oval circuits) per capita than any other country in the world. I can visit 3 F1-style tracks within an hour from my home, full of race cars, many of them open wheeled. Theres a lot more to US motorsport than I think you realise. And the Singapore (Marina Bay) circuit is challenging for any driver mainly because it's very bumpy and irregular.
I watch F1 and NASCAR. I really don't have a problem with it. I like the pit stops in NASCAR better because it is fun watching the guys run around to the other side of the car. I like the action in F1 a little better because there are more turns and the tracks aren't ovals. The on board cameras are better in F1, but those drive-by camera shots in NASCAR are hard to beat. I just DVR both of them and watch them when nothing else is on. Why can't people just enjoy them instead arguing pointlessly?
Does it really matter each race series has its on individual merits and issues. We are all race fans so lets enjoy the action and not the online arguments!
Not true. F1 car has so much downforce that the do the corners with that speed. For example with the downforce setup of monaco f1 car could drive in the roof at the speed of 200 km/h
fat americans my ass. you guys get 20 guys to do one job. they dont even have to move. NASCAR crews actually have to do work . And it only takes them about 12 seconds
Yeah well he probably has 15 other duties to do outside of race time. And I don't think the guy gets to see too much of Italy as he's working at the track 16-20 hours a day every race weekend. The mechanics actually work less during the actual race time than any other time of the weekend.
It's not a coincidence that every now and then the cameras actually catch mechanics sleeping at the pits during a race. It's the most quiet time of the week for them. Couple hours later they have to pack up.
I think to make it more interesting, for the viewers, without tyre changes drivers had to care for their tyres more carefully and late in races drivers who hadn't cared enough for their tires would suffer more because of loss of grip. I think it also had something to do with stopping Schumi winning all the time, It did stop him from winning championships....but only just
this is racing. not NASCAR. its boring cus its all just circles for an hour. no skill needed. americans would get lost on the singapore track i bet.

Much faster, are you kidding me,you guys cant even get it up to 150 before you have to take another turn.
You should watch a NASCAR race at Daytona or Talledega. THATS racing

If you didnt notice, when only a tire change is needed in F1 it takes 3,5 - 4 sek. The "longest" part if refueling.

thats the way its supposed to be...unlike you fat american nascar guys who take 2 minutes to do a pit stop
LeeRoi22 2 years ago
There are 15+ people doing the pits in F1... In NASCAR, only 6 people are allowed over the walls.

nascar sucks ass, F1 is where it's all at. f1 is much faster and more intense, nascar goes in a circle, BORING AS HELL AND THEY SUCK AND ARE SLOW

Most Schumacher stops were perfect. His in lap and outlap times won him so many races. It's a shame Ferrari pushed him out the door.
It's great to see Massa is the quickest Ferrari since Shumi started coaching him this year........

i didnt see no pit stop :P fast!
SASMOUNTAINTROOPER 4 years ago 3
It was quick because it was refueling only, it is relatively quicker than the regular tire&fuel stop, you don't see that now in the 2007 season.
dxb002 4 years ago 2
It was a splash and dash. In a normal pitstop they change the tyres and are waiting to finish refueling the tank.
kartingrocks22 4 years ago
In 2005 all pitstops were slpash and dashes because changing tyres during the race was banned. Tyre changes came back in 06.
longshot14 4 years ago
why was tyer changing banned?
