  • This looks cool but how stupid do you look wearing this shit

  • Is it going to work on the PS3?

  • @ohwhatnow51 This baby was born for the PS3 and gaming.!! The PS3 connects to it via HDMI, and you're good to go. 2D as well as 3D games are amazing. Once you're done gaming, drop in your favourite Blu-ray DVD and settle yourself down to a great movie experience! Enjoy :-)

  • SONY.... Simply means the rapidly continuous revolution of technology, it is truly "LIKE NO OTHER"...

  • Comment removed

  • I honestly think they trying to put us in a matrix lol

  • "750 Inch cinema viewed at about 20 Meters" = Looking at a small floating screen....

  • when will this be available in the states? and you will be able to use your pc with them?

  • @seckusa Availability in the USA can be checked by going to Sony's USA website. As for using with your PC - so long as your PC has an HDMI output, then yes you can.

  • it would be great this came with the PS4

  • Because I wear them, and I set them up fine :-) I would suggest if you're not sure that you go check out a pair at a local Sony Centre before you commit to buy. I need glasses for close up work (reading or computer work), my eyes are fine for long sighted. You can see another HowTo I did where I am using them wearing my glasses too :-)

  • @SonyHowTo Do you know if a pair of prescription eyes can see the pictures clearly?

  • be hell good with army simulator software, use a ps move gun and fuck shit up :P may even buy it and make some games for it via pc

  • TAKE MY MONEY

  • whens this out ?

  • shame it's ALLMOST IMPOSSIBLE to buy

  • @TheMrpoxman1 what do you mean?

  • minecraft at 2:00

  • is this future proof?

  • Can you connect it to the computer?

  • @Mr420rush Yes - any device with an HDMI output will connect to the headset. This could be your computer or your games console, or your DVD player etc. You can connect it to an HDMI splitter too, so you can use this alongside another device (eg., when playing games on a PS3, one person can wear this while the other person see's the same game on the TV).

  • @SonyHowTo So... We can watch porn on it

  • @USBenergy Whatever rocks your boat.! ;-)

  • Imagine playing Amnesia with this shit.

  • @LAWLCthulhu Do you want to die or!!!!!! O-O

  • @LAWLCthulhu

    Mother of god......

  • really nice, but i first thought i would be able use this from a far distance. if it needs a cable connected to the headset, then ill need to be close up to my consoles. a bit disappointed in that but still pretty awesome.

  • @JZ7662 Hi - the cables provided give you a distance of about 5 meters. Once you add the distance you have with the HDMI cable and the power cable, you can get the product pretty far away from the consoles, so this will not be an issue and you can rest easy (and get comfortable for a good long playing session!).

  • @SonyHowTo Cool, now ill see if i can find a Sony store to try em, if i like em, it'll be a few months of saving before i get em because the PS Vita is just around the long corner.

  • @SonyHowTo I would very much like to see it and experience theater quality awesomeness. Sony should send me one because when they make it, I believe. =)

  • I would seriously consider buying this if it were wireless

  • Ruin your eyes site

  • @TakingAndChanging Quite the contrary! Once the device is configured and resting comfortably - there is no difference between this and sitting in the cinema watching a movie.! You gotta see it to believe it..! :-)

  • @SonyHowTo When is it available in the UK and for how much?

  • o hi Daft Punk! waiting for the first price drop/black friday

  • this is goin be da best #1 thing they ever did for sony for get a tv thats wut u got the headset 4 ps3 goin be lookin good 4 gamein n way pass xbox360 n it cant get no better than this ..... CANT WAIT...;]

  • when can i buy it?

  • dont these jack up your eyes?

  • @electronitro78 yes just as much as a television..

  • @electronitro78 Quite the contrary! Once the device is configured and resting comfortably - there is no difference between this and sitting in the cinema watching a movie.! You gotta see it to believe it..! :-)

  • just checking

  • do you need a tv?

  • @TalkativeTortoise HI - no, you don't need a TV. These will connect to any device that support "HDMI out" - so it will draw directly from a DVD Player, a PS3 Games console, a VAIO laptop - or any other device you may have that has HDMI output. The HDMI pass through box also support HDMI out, so you could play a game in 3D while your opponent plays by watching a TV (antisocial, but hey - it's worth it!) ;-)

  • girls are gonna hate this product..lol

  • @Omniverse77 I couldn't possibly comment ;-)

  • i want to try it out. There should be demos at stores if there isn't already :)

  • Sik but tooo expensive

  • it will be easy to whear if they make as a full mask like the halo mask.

  • This thing has to bad for your eyesight. I am afraid what side effects prolonged (more than an hour) has on the user's eyes.

  • Would be great if it had/has head-tracking.

  • This basically replaces you tv but ot is 800 hundred dollars no joke

  • when will it be released O.O ??

  • just a stones throw away from 'johnny mnemonic'

  • @k35magnum Except the headset doesn't come with a copy of Keanu Reeves ;-)

  • @SonyHowTo Lol oh well - ill just have to settle for Ice-T

  • could i plug an xbox 360 in it

  • @moeainthomo Yes you can! Any device that has an HDMI output can be connected to the device :-)

  • we can't use it on airplane!!! to many things to carry :(

  • @SiLiBiSH I hear you..!! Going through XRay these days is painful..!! ;-)

  • Silvia Saint up close...well who can say no to this tech?:) Seriously, when this thing comes down in price I will definitely pick one up. I think the next five years spell the end of the cinema. I mean why would i bother forking out for such high ticket prices when I can basically get a movie to own for that price and watch it on the big screen using this (as many times as I want without forking out more). This is the future, where the headset killed going out to the cinema.

  • So does the HDMI out allow the PS3 to be connected both to the headset and a TV?

  • @f10italia If you run the HDMI out to a splitter, then yes. The Headset HDMI pass through box only has one HDMI out port, so you would need an interim splitter solution to enable viewing on more devices than just the 3D Headset.

  • this is the future

  • imagine u can slide a game in the side and u can play like kinnect

  • I want this for my computer

  • Could I combine that with my PC and Track IR5 for headtracking? That would be so.... AWESOME! Has someone tried that yet?

  • Where Can I buy this Sony 3D headset?

  • You stole those from the guy in Xmen :O

  • Comment removed

  • you can only play hd videos?

what if you dont have a bluray player??

  • @melbi86 Hi, thanks for your question! Any device that supports HDMI "out" will work with this product. It uses the HDMI port (out of one device, into the 3D Viewer) to play. :-)

  • @SonyHowTo So you would need to connect to the pass-through box via the hmd output which supplies the power as well as the video feed to the viewer instead of directly to your device? It would be nice if it is trully portable though

  • @8424706 Correct, you need to connect your originating device (DVD or Games Console for eg.) via HDMI to the 3D Personal Viewers HDM pass through box. You do get a lot of cable that goes from the 3D Personal viewer headgear to the pass through box, and depending on the length of the HDMI cable you use, that offers additional 'distance' - but this device is not designed to be 'portable' per say, other than allowing you sufficient distance from your DVD player or games console to your seat.

  • is it possible to have an augmented reality application, just like the AR glasses in the ps3 game heavy rain?

  • he is reading from the screen inside

  • @mahsinify LOL - would have been a good idea (had we thought of it!), but he just knows his stuff - which is easy when you're as excited about a product like as we are!

  • Lol imagine watching porn.

  • @TomTheAllyCat1

    lol I know right

  • @TomTheAllyCat1 In 3D..!! ;-)

  • I wanna play battlefield 3 on it

  • Will there be a gaming version of this display?

  • Can't wait for a 1080p version cause right now its just 720p. Still Sony kicks ass!!!

  • @PlatinumWolf100 yeah but because the screen is so small you won't notice any difference at all at 1080p, it would just cost more...

  • i live in japan and i came across one of these and was blown away. 60,000¥ and i think this will be the best purchase i ever make. i put this thing on and the trailer for the gran turismo began playing and i was like what the fuck is this?this is awesome, u cant describe how awesome the quality is. im looking forward on playing games and movies from it.

  • Put a gyroscope in it and i will buy it for sure

  • In the future this will get better. To expensive for the moment.

Is it true that is the same as being in the movies?

  • Should I use 3D DVD player or just regular blue ray DVD player is ok?

  • @zwkzmzbt Either is fine - whatever you have! 3D obviously gives you added advantage of watching movies back in 3D through the viewer (and it's an AMAZING experience). Regular Bluray DVD or standard DVD works just fine, and is equally impressive!

  • @SonyHowTo

    Thanks!

  • no, that is where we plug in our xbox

  • Use that with call of duty and it'll be da bomb!

  • Shit I might sale my tv

  • where can i buy this??

  • Comment removed

  • @matrixhed You must live in a cave.. This is not the first display viewer like this.

Sony might be the 1st at making one just for cinematic or gaming experience.

  • Lovely...only $5,000 bucks. >_<

  • @SportBikeDudeRocks it costs $800

  • @TheCarmacon Gesh! With TAX it'll be almost $1,000

  • DON'T play Amnesia with guys, I'm not even kidding. The game is scary enough without it being virtual reality.

  • are they saying you can play ps3 without a tv or sterio in 3d son fucking awsome love u sony

  • 5.1 stereo sound? What!?

  • Comment removed

  • This looks like something daft punk would use. . .

  • Just imagine this with gyroscopes while your playing in FPS, or any other First Person Game, Letting you be the camera......

    ........dreaming does not cost anything.

  • Got one that's wireless? :/

  • Can it be used with an xbox 360?

  • crap , i was think its wireless .

    but its not

  • @thebluewriter2010 lol wireless display output. Have you ever heard of a wireless TV or monitor?

  • can i connetc them to my hdmi video card? so use that with my pc?

  • 5.1... stereo sound yah

  • wait, so do you have to have a blu-ray player to use this?

  • @ToxicFlashGames No, he said you can plugxbox's, PS3's, PC's, any device with a HDMI output.

  • @ToxicFlashGames No, any HDMI output enabled device will suffice :-)

  • Yes I can't see far. So that's near sided right?

  • I wanna see someone in public with these, watching something scary and beating the shit outta people next to them when they get scared xD

  • @FreeTehW0rld Not quite "in public" but I was watching TRON Legacy 3D on these (at night, in total darkness to add to the effect) - my daughter thought it would be 'cute' to grab me and scream - I nearly soiled myself and probably leaped 10 feet in fright. I was so engrossed in the movie, my house could easily have been robbed and I'd have been none the wiser! :-O

  • @SonyHowTo buy an alarm system and a dog! lol

  • hey what if you wear eye glasses?

  • @MrDeepNextBigThing

If you're nearsighted, you're good to go.

If you're farsighted, get contact lenses.

  • @MrDeepNextBigThing Buy contacts or get LASIK.... four eyes :)

  • @MrDeepNextBigThing You prolly won't need eye glasses if your shortsighted but if your farsighted or you have astigmatism then I guess your gonna need contact lenses.

  • @MrDeepNextBigThing

no prob, u can use it^^

    watch?v=mxlvv5ka1A4

  • @MrDeepNextBigThing switch to contact lens

  • @MrDeepNextBigThing

it has a focus wheel upside to justify.

  • @MrDeepNextBigThing U get some contacts instead.

  • @MrDeepNextBigThing think you must get contact lenses.

  • @MrDeepNextBigThing then you're shit outta luck

  • wow saw released a television

  • how comfortable is it? i usually play games for 3-6 hrs non stop, would that hurt my ear and my head?

  • @cnmnv You need to ensure the headstraps and 'forehead experience' are well adjusted to suit the position you prefer to be in for gaming - once that's done, you're good to go - but like any immersive device - extended usage is not recommended, as it's intense and overwhelming!

  • Not 1080p? hmm, kinda not future proof.

  • @bongsinacloset it's its a 1" screen with 720p.. that's 1400plus dots per inch. with an oled screen and .01ms response. don't get hooked up on marketing sales nonsense.

  • 3d 1080p wont come until the next hdmi revision, so everything today is obsolete. The only way you can run 1080p 3d currently is using nvidia 3dvision (or the ati equivalent) with dual link output.

  • @ffrgtm Also, don't forget it's 720p, but the screens are ridiculously tiny (0.7 inch). No matter what they look like, it's still an enormous pixel density, way higher than 1080p on, say, a 24" monitor.

  • It has space for your glasses

  • enjoy the radiation in your face

  • @pigeonpsycho hahahah

  • what about people who wear glasses?

  • This product has no innovations at all. There's absolutely no reason to throw 800 euros on something like that. Think about it. It's not VR, has no gyroscope, 720p and uses a wire. It's exactly like old VR glasses, except old glasses used 480p. So 20 years of evolution raised it by 240p... this is bullsh*t.

  • @OttoMotos True, but isn't that wire the hdmi? We we really that advanced to use AV with no battery wire 20 years ago? This thing shouuld include bluetooth, and be a mp3/video player with possible use of their new wireless hdmi tech. Hec Its 2011! They could have even put a whole PC in their!

  • @OttoMotos

yup, and small 720p OLED screens are also 20 years old...

  • @kazioo2 All valid points - but I kid you not - this is an amazing cinematic experience, and I wholly encourage you to try them out - borrow them from a friend who has bought them - you won't want to give them back ;-)

  • Great product to be unknowingly strangled by a stranger.

  • @Brodey23 Or have your house robbed right around you while you're immersed in the movie/gaming experience - though you may suspect something's up when your movie or game suddenly ends as they run out your house with the DVD Player or PS3 ;-)

  • wont it fuck your eyes up

if you use it too much ??

  • imagine playing FPS with those. this would be one hell of xp

  • Just put a motion sensor on top! Then go game!

  • Will I be able to wear my prescription glasses at the same time, or will the simulated 20 meter viewing distance not come into play as it would in a real-world scenario?

  • @MegaSobari Much needed info I'm blind as Fuck

  • You could lay on your back or sideways and still have the movie theater experience.thats insane.

  • Tsss.... the gaming market overrun the movie market.

So why the f... is the resolution still not fullHD? Why is there no head tracking? Why is there no attachable MIC? And how the f...Hell should i pay 800 bucks(EUR) for that thing? I can get three 24 inch Monitors for that money!

Reduce the price to like 300 bucks. Increase the Resolution. Add possibility to add a Mic and make it TrackIR compatible ^^

I guarantee, Sony will sell many thousands of that thing. Imagine a Flightsim with that Thing!

  • @ziggymcflick You could wear a throat mic though.

  • say bye bye to my 32 inch tv =)

  • What will happend if you got glasses ?

  • @Headslaught You will immerse yourself into a high end optical viewing which can be considered a cinema style view, in other words, like going to the movies but with a clearer more optical surround sound while making it all available in the safety and privacy of your own home.

  • @Headslaught Exactly! Normal 3D glasses let you use glasses, this seems pretty tight..

  • Does this mean Bye Bye Tv? hehe

  • @Manfat20009 It means bye bye Movie places.

You will still get tired of it and when people come over, I'm not sure if you are Bill gates but yeah, you aren't going to have an extra pair just laying around.

  • I will undoubtedly get these later on, perhaps next x-mas, cause this year and beginning of next I'm upgrading my PC completely with top of the line Nvidia Kepler and Ivy Bridge etc.

Also it gives it some time to really know if they last and not break for what people say and if they really are ultra cool.

I can imagine this is the ultimate 3D experience cause you actually have two screens, one for each eye simulating perfectly how we see 3D depth in real life.

Makes it feel like giant screens

  • @Swecan76

I will SO get this later on to when the prize is more in my range ( around 3000-4000 )

I cant wait to see what the community will do with these , just look at the wii and what they did with that.

I for not a second doubt that the community will come up with virtuall reality to these headsets,

    This in the end ....

IS A MUST BY for me .... in 2-3 years when the prize is lower, then i will have one of these in my house.

    Cant wait !

  • sony 3d headset and house of dead overkill bundle

  • 299 DOLAR OKEY

BUT 800 DOLAR OR EURO NEVER BUY

    NEVER NEVER NEVER

  • @NetherrealmStudio Are you expecting a 150 inches TV with 5.1 surround home theater for 300 bucks? Yeah,in your dreams.

800 Dollars is not too much for that jewel.

  • 800 euro lol

  • ZOMG!

  • What is respons time in ms?

  • is that a minidisplayport connector on the front of the HDMI box? would be great if these could be used for 3d pc gaming too.

  • So could you use this for TV or no?

  • this will ever be sony's best invention:)

  • @kinectuser77 These are out with ages, so sony didnt invent it.

  • how do you use a headset when your gaming
