I think you may be right. I don't think the SN# was on the sale bill so I couldn't match up what model year it was.

Despite what it says on the video about the 4440 being made from 1978-82 it was introduced along with 4 New Iron Horse tractors in 1977.The 1977 September/October Furrow has a 8 page supplement on this 4040.4240,4440,4640 and the 4840.$34,000.These John Deere tractors hold their value very well
