I've beaten Super Metriod with 4 energy tanks, which is the minimum the game will allow you to win, since Motherbrain MUST hit you with the Hyperbeam once.

If you're good at these old NES and SNES games, you never get hit, so the extra life isn't needed.

I noticed it lagged more than normal too (not only there) ... it's probably because the code to move characters/objects runs twice as often (to double the max speed), and they animate on every frame instead of every 6.

Of course, even with that, it's still really fast ...
