Beautiful song. For the reference to our LORD as being both the Lamb and Lion look in Revelation 5. Believers are familiar with the Lamb reference as in, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." But, less familiar with the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. (In His earthly incarnation, Jesus was of the Tribe of Judah).

And I object on another set of grounds too - no, some do, in fact, know this man, and it is, in fact, possible to do so; Jesus has revealed himself to them, an action he has performed for all who are honestly Christians. Being the creator of the universe, it's sort of within his power to do such things :)
BTW, the pictures are just representations - no doubt he was covered in blood, dirt, and grime when he was carrying the cross. However, pictures such as that aren't exactly all appealing to the eye - hence why a movie which does display such depictions of Jesus, the Passion of the Christ, is rated MA15+ (at least in Australia).

Whilst I could agree with you about finding the human RACE as a WHOLE despicable, that doesn't mean that the INDIVIDUALS of the race are any less deserving of love and respect? I mean, it's a very selfish and obsequiest mentality if you only give yoru love to those who have 'earned' it, so to speak, or who are loving and kind people themselves.
What ever happened to just loving someone regardless of how they act themselves? And then THROUGH your actions, they'll hopefully change theirs? Virtualyl EVERY leader ever held to be 'great' by humankind has kept that as one of their key core mantras - not just "doing unto others as you would have them do unto you" (the golden rule), which should just be a given, but going BEYOND that - doing unto others what you would not just want, but (eg) PAY for others to do unto you.

...has been done by Muslims and Christians...just generally the religious. Most certainly NOT the antireligious, who've really only achieved notable successes in the past century. And before you make the comment - no, atheists DID exist before the last century. Look up suspected atheists like David Hume if you're curious - and I'd imagine that many people both in his era and before (albeit less notable) were also agnostics, if not atheists.

What I AM saying, however, is that all honest Christians would've been able to feel the love and hope thats Jesus himself embodies, not in a distant, impersonal way, but in a deeply intimate and close-to-the-heart fashion. That's simply what defines Christianity and Jesus as a person.

BTW, the pictures are just representations - no doubt he was covered in blood, dirt, and grime when he was carrying the cross. However, pictures such as that aren't exactly all appealing to the eye - hence why a movie which does display such depictions of Jesus, the Passion of the Christ, is rated MA15+ (at least in Australia).

@Yazzarh right, not just for the sake of the argument or whatever, after thinking about it im very sure i could never love a person i had never spent time with (including dead family members) because i need to find out their traits and what i love about them, secondly i really do not believe for a second that jesus appears to all true christians, never mind not believing of his existence all together, (has he appeared to you?), and lastly he would still not be white most likely arabic

What about if people whom you DID love held that person dear to their own hearts, and loved them? You still wouldn't care about said person? Complete apathy with respect to them? Whilst I could agree with you about finding the human RACE as a WHOLE despicable, that doesn't mean that the INDIVIDUALS of the race are any less deserving of love and respect? I mean, it's a very selfish and obsequiest mentality if you only give yoru love to those who have 'earned' it, so to speak, or who are loving and kind people themselves.

What ever happened to just loving someone regardless of how they act themselves? And then THROUGH your actions, they'll hopefully change theirs? Virtualyl EVERY leader ever held to be 'great' by humankind has kept that as one of their key core mantras - not just "doing unto others as you would have them do unto you" (the golden rule), which should just be a given, but going BEYOND that - doing unto others what you would not just want, but (eg) PAY for others to do unto you.

However, I will stand by what I said in terms of what I think the criteria should be for loving other human beings - that if you didn't think that you should love all humans regardless of who they are, that's a ridiculously cold and harsh position to take. In terms of your views - I entirely respect your position. Whilst I disagree with it, and wholeheartedly at that, in western society, everyone is allowed the right to choose their own religious beliefs, in a tolerating environment.

...has been done by Muslims and Christians...just generally the religious. Most certainly NOT the antireligious, who've really only achieved notable successes in the past century. And before you make the comment - no, atheists DID exist before the last century. Look up suspected atheists like David Hume if you're curious - and I'd imagine that many people both in his era and before (albeit less notable) were also agnostics, if not atheists.

What I AM saying, however, is that all honest Christians would've been able to feel the love and hope thats Jesus himself embodies, not in a distant, impersonal way, but in a deeply intimate and close-to-the-heart fashion. That's simply what defines Christianity and Jesus as a person.

And no, I'm not talking about the Bible here - I'm talking about all of the other, SECULAR sources which document his existence, all external to the Bible. Reality is, among virtually ALL historians today, both in a secular and religious environment, the historicity of Jesus is accepted as plain and simple fact.

They're not necessarily going to show him EXACTLY as hw would've looked whilst he was alive, but then again - do you really expect them to? Can you blame them?
