I'm proud to be an American too, and I have no Chinese ancestry, but the ceremony made me proud to be a human being. I guess it's what Up with People was going for--which ironically made me ashamed.:)

Funny -- from the vantage point of August 13, the entire video seems deliciously sarcastic, given the fake singer, the pre-produced graphic fireworks for television, and the Chinese media blackout on covering these pathetic mis-steps by the Chinese government.

My favorite part was Li Ning walking in the sky. This even is symbolic for the end of imperialism in China. Proud of my Chinese ethnicity. Can't wait for the closing ceremony!

Ya, I agree that there should be an unofficial rule that bans fighting going on in the Olympics. What's so pathetic is that our media is covering stuff like the Edwards Scandal and the death of the "Shaft" singer juxtaposed to the real world issues.

Ughh, but the Olympics is a great escape from world affairs, even if be just for two weeks. That's why I appreciate videos like this. It's like the man says, "a reflective escape." God knows we need more of that.

How can we have an Olympic when Russia is attacking Georgia? The Russian and Georgian athlets should be withdrawn from the games. There is a rule that no wars should be fort while the the Olympic Games are taking place Russia and Georgia have broken it.

Camtasia is a screen recording progrm. I made a powerpoint last night and used Camtasia to record the effects. Afterwards, I just imported it into Adobe premiere and spliced it together with the music. :)

This video really reflects my opinions on this subject manner. Personally, I found the entire performance quite grandiose, and possibly frightening. Just imagine, China with such a firm grip on its people where it can orchestrate a 15,000 person choreographed work. What a testimony to how a communist government can be effective when run properly, spliced with some reminiscent of capitalism.
