Too bad that this scene and the whole idea of the "Weirding Module" is completely absent from the original book -- it's a fairly cool idea, although not necessary for the story to work. Then again, since it indirectly suggests that the Fremen needed to have some funky tech to be bad-asses maybe it detracts from it a bit.

@Ranillon Lynch created the modules because he didn't think the books' "Weirding Way" martial arts would translate well. Pretty pragmatic adaptation. The Fremen were badass with or without the modules (or the Way).
