I´m something between a begginner and pro ;p and i´m wandering between "mixtrack pro" , "stealth control" or "i-mix reload" (i know it doesn´t have the built.in...) i thought about mixmeister control because that´s the dj software i´m using now and i like a lot but i´ve been thinkin about traktor so i wanted something not as ´specific´ as mixmeister control... Can you please help me (: ?
hi there dj bento, can you please help me. im using OMNI CONTROL with TRAKTO LE, why the buttons ON/OFF and TAP and the knob PAR and FINE PITCH is not working? when i push the said two buttons in doesnt have a light .and when turn the said two knobs also i didnt notice any changes on the music i played. please i really need your help. thank you very much.
the omni control is great i also have had it for over 2 years the only problem i have no is that i randoming get drop outs so im planning on buying a new one but it really is good.
If your looking for a mapping for the Omni you only have to go to the NI forums, though they have many forums for it. Also, I've found it very easy to map in Traktor Pro, I've done it myself and have also re-mapped my own special mappings to get all 6 effects and some other things. I've almost got the whole Traktor base layout mapped via "shift" keys sort to speak, very easy and fun! I like this mixer, it's good to start with IMO
@Skogsbaver theres a pretty good community going on in the numark omni control forums for midi mapping, i would make that your first stop. If you cant find one on ther then send me a message on here and ill get one for you as i cant link on here.
How's the sensitivity on the omni control? I owned an iCue for about 8 months and I'm looking to move up, and my main problem with the iCue is that it's too simple, and MUCH too finicky - if you brushed upon one of the pitch controls it would change (even if the slider didn't actually move!) despite going down to +/- 8%.
@valdesjona the sensitivity is about right, obviously you have to be careful about touching the jog wheels as that will nudge the beats out of sync, but apart from that its pretty dead on.
Hey man, thanks for the review. I have been irking to get DJ equipment for YEARS. I've always been just producing tracks, but have always wanted to focus on the live aspect as well. I finally bought my own Omni Controller yesterday and have been looking for some fellow omni input. So far, seeing how I have owned NOTHING before this, I am super satisfied with my purchase. Cheers
ALSO (lol) I have issues with the contacts on the X-fader. When it's hard over something happens with the contacts that starts to fade it back to the middle which SUCK in the mix. That's half the reason why I've started mixing with levels which not only saves my X-fader, but you actually get a better mix imo ;) Try it out.
I know what u mean about the mapping issues with Traktor Pro, I think the biggest issue is utilizing all of the effects functions using the controller itself rather than one effect with the controller and the other two with your mouse. That sucks. Also, you're lucky you havn't had any hardware issues. My Cue buttons are tempremental as fcuk but I've adapted so it's not a big deal for me anymore. Add me on here mate and anything you hear about a Pro map you let me know :) Nice vid.

That really sucks :(

@Louisisalegend not sure as long as mixvibes supports programmable midi I don't see why not, you would have to create your own map though I expect.
MrDJBento 9 months ago
do you think that mixvibes would work with it???

does it sync with VDJ?

Hi, does it allow you to listen to a different track whilst another one is playing? so you can fade in like on a normal mixer.
cheers

I find the Bass and Mid control is really bad, though this could be an MP3 thing!
Would it be worth getting an external sound card and do you recommend anything as there are so many to choose from?
I have been looking at the vestax vai 40, coz i mite upgrade to the vestax VCI100 in the future!

@MrDJBento i've looked within traktors midi binds and cant find a value to adjust wheel sensitivity, are you aware of how to adjust it?
thanks
