Listen to Jinreeso. Everything he/she said is 100% true, well except for the Trupower 3 killing crabgrass. But Quincept smokes it. I've been in the business 5+ years and I know when someone thinks they know what they are talking about and when someone does know really know.
Tru green is a great service. i work for them. we have a special for a free fall fertilzer application if you pay for aeration. great if you have a small yard. wont cost you as much.
to get rid of crab grass you need to add in a sticking agent to make sure it attaches to the grass... I've seen it start to die in as little as 3 days. you just need someone who knows what they are doing out there

Yes, I know how to take care of a lawn. I mow it about every 5 days. I have a sprinkler system and watered as needed I was the biggest fan of TruGreen prior to last year. The problem 2010 was what they did to the yard and then not follow up with me. After no less than 10 contacts with the company, someone came out. They basically blamed it on me and drought. Didnt water etc. So.... I showed him the other yards around me, which were fine and no irrigation. They should own the issue.
if you have a shit lawn you got sold that is your fault not trugreen's its not hard to get educated about lawns I enjoy learning about it. you might need to resod then start over and make sure your under soil is good first.

Trugreen is a lawn service that does fertilizer mostly. From working there I can say they are all about selling but the service can provide good results if you I mean you cause I saw the lawn you need an aeration and need to water more. If you have decent lawn and you take care of it trugreen will work

There are lawns in my neighborhood that have NO treatment, and their grass look better than the trugreen treated lawn. I hate them! You have no idea how muchmoney they cost me in grass repair. jinreeso. I had been paying for the service all year. They did put down the preemergent, etc. The problem arose when they did not come back in the early summer to control the crabgrass. I requested they come look at it. They did not respond. When they finally showed up, they took excessive action resulting in the killing of the fescue. They only know the truth. The result speaks for itself. I simply tried to show what can happen to a yard. You decide for yourself. Not me anymore.
The best defense for crab grass is to let trugreen put down their two pre-emergents in the spring and one in the fall. Saying trugreen is the reason for the issues in your lawn is silly, you KNOW your lawn looked that bad before they came out and treated it, you just wanted a one shot wonder and it didnt happen. Pulling weeds is also a horrible idea as the roots break off and spread the weed even more.
I wonder why they were not able to use it on my yard. I think they tried using something a lttile too strong and ended up killing the fescue. They blamed the dead fescue on drought. As I had said, I have an irrigation system and I can handle watering during dry periods. None of the neighbors have an irrigation system and their fescue seemed to survive. All I had asked them was to take a little responsibilty. You would think a large company like them would man up, but they never did.

A lawn that looks like yours cannot be fixed in one season, If they started applying in the summer it is more difficult to control weeds and invasive grasses during the hot months. We do not spray magic, we can only put down an amount of chemical regulated by the EPA, and yes quincept and trupower 3 works on crabgrass. Also, it is unlikely that they killed the fescue. It almost seems as if you are saying trugreen planted the crabgrass
yes trugreen does kill crabgrass witha product called quincept and it works great been working here for three years now ive personally killed tons of crabgrass!!!
how long did you have their service? most of your bad looking lawn is probably due to a rough summer or your lack of watering. they're not magicians. a few applications wont make it look amazing

They came out and have sprayed for weeds. That took about two weeks of begging to get them to come out. They said the dead fescue was due to the drought. I showed them neighboring yards that did not have dead fescue. I have a sprinkler system and the neighboring yards did not. Very dissapointed in the service. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I would like to get my money back for this years services since TruGreen garuantees their service. TruGreen says they will only refund one service.

As I had said, I have an irrigation system and I can handle watering during dry periods. None of the neighbors have an irrigation system and their fescue seemed to survive. All I had asked them was to take a little responsibilty. You would think a large company like them would man up, but they never did.
