@samuele4220 you can choose what position you want to start in but you are never docked unless in a mission, but before you go and buy Ship Simulator 2008 I would wait and buy Ship Simulator Extremes

for those who have this game! does this game include the engine room too or communication room? i am a seaman (not an engineer) and i am curious with this game. i am thinking to buy it. can you throw the lines or the ropes before you hold the engines, when you are near to the dock? Cause that's the real operation of mooring. When you are near to the dock you throw a heaving line first, and then you continue your moves. as we say to the ships when the operation is over "Captain, She has come".

you only get to enter the engineroom with the add-on pack for Shipsim 08 which is called New Horizons. And you can only throw lines if the mission supports it, not in free roaming.

Nice vid! If there are only two props on the Titanic then what are all the different engine controls for on the bridge? Those big brass things I mean; looks like there's about 6 of them. Also there's a ship with two steering wheels and engine controls, what's the purpose of that? Sorry for buggin ya but I obssess over the small details! lol. I'd get this game and find out for myself but my crappy computer can't handle it.

most of the engine controlls in the game are just for show but in real life it was the mid engine telegraph, docking telegraph and a emergency engine telegraph if im not mistaken.

when it comes to the ship with two steering wheels it is the Red Eagle and it doesnt use normal propellers and rudders to go forwards, it uses something called VSP (Voith Schneider Propulsion) so basically the controllers on the side are RPM and the controllers on the top are for the two VSP's you have the RPM Meter thing and you have a directional arrow which shows you where you are heading for, (you should use the controlls in the boat instead of the ''overlap'' one to understand it ^^
