wales has been transformed under labour.. thats in a few years where it was battered for years under the tories.. now they are back in proped up by the liberals then its more of the same boring joblosses and uninvestment
@ToaJoe But why? What was actually achieved during his premiership? He didn't have the political courage to reform our public services to prepare them for the 21st century - his was a government that presided over falling standards and continued an idiotic policy of simply throwing huge amounts of tax payers money at the problem. His economic polices also allowed the economy to become dangerously unbalanced - more industrial jobs were lost under him than Mrs. Thatcher.
@UnitedBritannia What did Blair achieve? All the work he did for the peace process, the minimum wage, the EU... And don't make me laugh by saying he was worse than Thatcher. She was one of the worst ever - her premiership still holds the highest record unemployment, VAT increased from 8% to 17.5%, 1 million families lost their homes, three recessions, black wednesday, etc... Blair was a saint compared to her!
@UnitedBritannia The National Minimum Wage, Tax Credits, Public Services were given extensive mixed market reform and 'falling standards and throwing tax payers money at the problem' is silly rhetoric. The economy didn't become unbalanced, the Chief Economist praised the UK economy under Blair/Brown as coupling steady growth with low inflation. I suggest given your frailties in the history of the UK you should go back to casting aspersions on the US given you're such a 'fervent atlanticist.'
@arsenalmanz I think there is very little to 'enjoy' at the moment, this is a country attempting to work itself back to real and lasting prosperity after the mirage of Labour "growth" (i.e. spend beyond your means, even at the peak of an unsustainable boom). But do I support the coalition, which represents the only viable option for taking this country back to economic sanity, absoloutley.
@UnitedBritannia our life under david cameron is great isnt it, but it will always blamed by you lot who wanna blame the labour government.. we are stil trying to recover since john fucking major was in...everything the cons did was a filure to this country...scum is the word that springs to mind... SCUM
@UnitedBritannia Before the Labour government, my Mum could not afford to work and we were stuck in a house with no central heating and no money. After the New Labour came in, they introduced Working Family Tax Credit. It allowed my mum to work, it allowed me to overcome my childhood asthma since we could heat our house and we could afford to live for once.
Blair had a unique opportunity. He had a massive majority in the Commons. He did have the entire country behind him, even most Tory voters. He had a mandate. He had a booming economy which provided lots of cash for 'investment.' When historians look back in 100 years, Blair's period in office will be seen as the biggest wasted opportunity in modern political history.
@VonMises1990 I agree. He should have introduced a political levy, reformed the house of lords and more. But you cannot blame him entirely, he was very inexperienced at that point.
@ToaJoe the minimum wage did what ?, lost jobs if anything - although to be fair I can see the argument for. Still wasent exacly the most difficult policy to achive, as for NI it was a gradural process that began under the Major government, although I have to admit Blair put alot of effort into the process and did manage to get the two around the table. But under no circumstances will I accept improved Health and Education in proportion to the money spent, cont.
@ToaJoe His education policies failed anyway, youth unemployment rose 40% and most of the schemes he set up was just wastful public sector schemes that kept people in 'training' witch just shadowed the true unemplyment figures. Health is a similer story , Billions ploughed in, which I accept heath standards did improve although not remarkably, and with money the country dident have running a massive strutural deficit that hit hard when recession landed. As for inflation cont.
@ToaJoe That was no miracle, it happened all across the developed world as a response to globalisation and fueled further in this country by outsources manafacturing. Blair tried to please everyone, obsessed with spin, was a complete crook anyway and was not driven by the countries best intrests. He made changes in this country for the worse, trying to please everyone for the sake of popularity.
ive finley made my mind up im librel even tho we sher power we stop thje tores casing more damage then they are doing at the moment a librel govermeant is the only way forwared
Look at all those New Labour scum. I told everyone I could what they'd be like in power, I was ignored to choruses of "Thing's can only get better". Does it make me satisfied I was 100% right? No, just sadly that the Great British Public is pig-shit thick.
This video perfectly represents Blair's prowess and skill - not at governing, but at pandering to the media and gaining support amongst the shallow and stupid
@countvoncount13 i liked some of blairs nick names the fefflon kid, because nothing sticks to him, bush baby, the master of smarm,my faverit is the white house snake.
ok a lot of crap has taken place under Labour over the last 13 years but rest assured if the Tories had been in power it would have been EVEN WORSE!
despite their many mistakes Labour have changed so much in this country for the better and made life fairer for the less well-off, so it is with a bittersweet smile that I see this morning in Britain, that although Labour have lost, at least DAVID CAMERON AND HIS SHITTY TORIES HAVE NOT WON!!!!!!!!!
@FightForYourFreedom - and who is the alternative? The tory tosh lead by that idiot Cameron? Joke of a party in Lib Dems? I'm not sayin im goin to vote labour, either, however, is it any wonder why people are turning towards a certain far right, small party when you look at the main stream options
the labour landslide has almost swept away our rights with 3500 new laws, knocked down our border controlls, caused a tidel wave of immigration to swomp our countrie, coverd our nation with a cloud of P,C,crap to a point where we are all frightend to speak our minds,as the tidel wave receeds we are left with a mountain range of dept growing at 500,million aday.
I hope people have learnt from all of this! Just look at the mess they have left us in, and just like in the 80's are going to have to leave it up to the tories to sort out.
Hopefully we can restore this country to the quality it deserves.
@abhudson14 best day for who.the 1 million ileagals after labour surrenderd our borders, the 2 million asylum seekers, the bennifit scroungers, the eastern europeans ripping off our bennifits, criminals with 50% off there sentances, the drunks on our streets 24,7 the gap between the rich and poor being wider than ever, blairs 20 million in the bank, the 650,000 muslims in irac, britains 200billion dept, the 500million a day we are borrowing, best day for who.
@thedavewalkershow well the tories would have it tens wores and if that toff Cameron gets which we dont wont willo be in the same mess as we were in the 80s do you care about this country if you do you will labour like me and keep Fucking Cameron out wedont want him true
@abhudson14 TO DAY 6th of may the overwelming majority of the people of britain have spoken the conservatives are 2.2 million votes a head of labour with 48 seats to be desided plus the millions that have deserted labour.gordon brown says he will do what is best for britain which means him self and the traterous labour party.if we get a hung parliment he will try to do a deal with the libs trying to cling to power any way he can, britain will then have to losers runing the countrie.
@abhudson14 labour have always been the party of low standards to no standards.just take a look at almost every labour controlled council in the countrie.run down filthy housing estates, crime, good working class people frightend to leave there homes, wake up and smell the coffee.labour voters born and bread, salt of the earth but easerly lead strong in the arm but soft in the head.
@thedavewalkershow yout talking out your arsehole pal this country will be as bad as was in the 80s when that thing Thatcher the worse Pm this country had and i reckon it could be wores so if you know whats good for you leave this country like im thinking of doing there be no hope in this country now.
@abhudson14 now look here i have high standards to my life i own my house i go out to work i vote labour and care what happends to this country we live in it seems you dont if you voted for them scum bag uncaring tory party
@abhudson14 so we are both working class, have high standards,we work,we own our own houses, and we have both been screwed by tony blair, gordon brown, and labour for the past 13 years.they have introduced 3500 new laws to controll our every thort and gag us,149 indirect taxs to to rob us,stollen 120 billion out of our privare pensions,22% of the worlds cameras to watch us.
@abhudson14 so no matter how hard we work thats me and you no matter you how much we contribute to OUR COUNTRIE,labour will sell our homes from under us to pay for our care in old age because gordon brown and labour have spent OUR HARD EARNED TAXS on asylum seekers aproxx 30 billion ayear, bennifits scroungers 75 billion ayear,2 wars 56 billion and riseing.brown is borrowing 500 million a day as we speak to cover 13 years of labour lies and bull shit.
@abhudson14 i remember the 80,s very well after years of yet another sad pathetic labour goverment, left wing unions trying to over throw our democracy millions of days lost in strikes, black outs, margret thatcher had to drag this countrie off its knees and out of the gutter.she put the BACK BONE BACK IN BRITAIN,and it stayed there for 18 years.when blair took over we had a stable ecconomy and 40 billion in the bank.look at us now.
@thedavewalkershow Thatcher was the worse PM this country had there was northing good about. we had no money or work intereese rates 15% for year' Industries like minors steal and railways were gone and a pointless war in the faklans
@getmadgetmad1 The fact is we can go on about This and That under Labour it dosen't make a difference Politics, Law, Enocomics everything it's just like life SHIT And Hypocrital so it really dosen't matter anyways.
Gordon Brown has been sedulous in protecting jobs and safeguarding the worst hit during the banking crisis, the fall in unemployment was testament to that fact. Labour 2010 - Come on Gordon, you can do it!
@pardeepsinghk Those tax dodgers bank rolled the Labour party over the last decade (back when it was electable under Blair); let's hear about the tax status of the many wealthy individuals who Blair and Brown snuggled up to shall we? Those in glass houses...
Substantiate your empty soundbyte - tell me one current Tory policy that favors the rich over the poor.
@UnitedBritannia for someone with a name such as unitedbritannia I would have thought you would spell favour the correct way as opposed to the American bastardisation
@hia07gfh Ah - well spotted. But I'm a fervent atlanticist with a strong belief in the 'special relationships' capacity to be a force for good in the world (terribly unfashionable in the current climate - I know!). America has rarely bastardised (see - no yanky 'Z') anything, the great nation that it is.
@pardeepsinghk You may also like to tell us how a crippling national debt, eventually paid for by higher taxes most felt by low income earners, helps the poor as Labour always claim to be supporting.
Labour's record on poverty and social mobility is a disgrace. How any Labour politician has the audacity to claim any moral superiority (as they always do) is beyond me - they sold out on everything they used to believe in in order to win office again. What a sorry state of affairs.
@pardeepsinghk Labour's contempt even for their own voters runs right the way through.
Do you think Labour peoples' communist pasts, paedo tendencies or treason were bad enough? You take a look at the Reds' bashing of Christianity, cashing in on still-legal drugs and plotting with the Libs to stay in power even if the Tories win!
Even other Lefties hate them for their warmongering!
Click my username to view NEW LABOUR'S TOTALITARIAN ANTI-CHRIST DRUG DEALERS DESERVE AT LEAST POLL DEATH!
your right blair is amazing, since he did a runner,he,s earned 16million,set up 15companys all inter linked to avoid paying british taxs, works for german bank, american bank, french billionair, british goverment,5 homes, gold plated pension for life, estimated earnings over the next 10 years 100 million all compliments of the british people who were stupid enough to vote for him.never befor in our history have so many been conned out of so much by so fiew since labour came to power.
Labour didn't create street crime, the collective national debt, nor much else-
good or bad- and please do remember that the Tory government between '79
and '97 was no paragon of virtue or
honey cake either.
Sure, all politicians make more than their share of mistakes, money and outright vanity... We could ALL start to improve things by: being nicer to one another, being more realistic with what we need or want; only voting in candidates of any party with a proven personal integrity. Nick
labour could not be nicer if they tried, they have been very nice to the asylum seekers, bennifit scroungers, prisoners giving them 50%off there sentaces, leting other countrys have our gold for next to nothing, leting other countrys take our gas, water, electric, companys.bailing out the banks free of charge with out having an agreement on how the tax payer gets there money back.leting us drink 24 hours a day.freeing irac and only killing half a million iracis on the way.HOW NICE OF THEM.
As a matter of fact, I don't think that anybody who exploits or harms others is nice- most of the things you mention included. So I'm no fan of the Labour Party who did nothing to improve the Thatcher-Tory legacy and, sometimes, did indeed do worse. I'd only add this: if we wanna cut down on "benefit scroungers", do the honourable thing:
MAKE 'EM DO SOMETHING USEFUL.
And, if we don't like the modern Labour/
Tory hellhole, cut the useless TV-commercial-credit smothering, and get useful!
The BNP will never hold any power in the UK because the British people are smarter than the thugs who support them...we did not defeat the Nazi's to let the BNP get any sort of power and Chruchill himself would be digusted by a Britian that supports any such party...Remember what the Tories did under Thatcher and Major and then compare that to Tony Blair who made massive mistakes but his 10 years on the domestic front made the UK a richer and better place to live than any other PM in history.
the british people carnt be that smart they voted for blairs bull shit 3 times in a row. nazis defeated, now a bunch of communists are runing the country.niether churchill or our grand farthers would have fort and died for the britain we have to day under labour.remember thatcher and the toriers had to sort out the last mess labour made.under blair we are 180billion in dept,2ilegal wars,2mill asylum seekers,1mill ilegals, plus bank rupt, ectr, ectr, ectr,
If you think communists are running the country then you have no idea on history, pick up a history book. 2 Illegal wars ? am sorry I must of missed the bit where Bin Laden and co didn't attack America and then is in 2005 and it was all a fairy tale. Thatcher and Major nearly crippled the country and the Tories no nothing policy would of ruined the £ and rose unemployment up double in not treble during the current crisis. We are more than £180 billion in debt btw thats just the fiscal debt.
17 of the 19 hijackers were sowdies not sadam or iracis,22% worlds cameras watching us,3500 new laws, the country was cripled when thatcher came to power it took the first 10 years to sort it out.4million on dole when labour got in.they moved 2.5million on to incapacity bennifits straight away ,145new taxs over the last 10 years bringing in 100s of billions in exstra taxs all disapeard in to a black hole under labour.80 billion in the bank when they came to power.total 260 billion gone
Your shadow chancellor makes me laugh he asked the PM why are we still in rescission when other countries are out? Well DUH all other countries have strong manufacturing Canda has tin Germany has cars. We only have a handful of manufacturing left something the conservatives were responsible for and one labour nicely finished off. Whoever gets in will do no justice for the economy unless big industries are brought back to the U.K.
You can't even spell Britain correctly, it's embarrassing.
The Conservatives cuts, mixed with austerity is the wrong approach to a recession, a recession that's beggining to receed anyway what with GDP growth for the past 4-5 months. There is one very big difference between the Conservatives and Labour. Labour's unemployment rates are significantly high because of free market economics, whereas the Tory unemployment rates were due to dismantling of industry in the 80's = avoidable.
conseratives left 40billion in the bank when blair took over.they also brought in free markert trade and gave every brit the right to buy there own house and sorted the apalling state of the country after yet another labour goverment mess.labour did all they could to keep the working man down.the true figure under labour is nearer 7.5 million not inclueding asylum seekers not including 2million asylum seekers and one million ilegals
1.) A recession, caused by Banks not being able to pay back money after extremely ill-judged lending. - Therefore companies can't afford to pay staff, and are having to make redundancies, subsequently : a lack of available work for the already unemployed.
2.) The auctioning off of British Manufacturing companies, to foreign companies/ investors.( In the long run, this will benefit employment, as costs become lower- demand rises and more workers are needed.)
tommy banks helped to cause the recession through pure greed, and we all jumped on the wagon for a free ride 11 years ago.the lack of work for our people is why we need to curb immigration.british manufacturers are down to the bone the only way they can cut there costs is to move abroad where the labour market is cheaper which we dont want, this will meen even less jobs for our people, when more workers are needed there are 10 million already out of work in britain to choose from.
You won't be critical of Immigrants in 30-40 years, when they're generating the majority of your GDP, paying your pension, and solving our ageing population crisis. ( not to mention skills shortages ) - So embracing immigration, rather than negating it in such an ignorant manner would be advisable.
tommy we have 1500 brits looseing there jods every week and 4000 immigrants comeing in every week.4mill on bennifits,2.7mill no the dole,2miill asylumseekers,1mill ileagals, atleast i mill hidden buy labour on other skeems, approximately 10 million not working plus 1 mill eastern europeans and half a million jobs between them.the only thing immigration can do for us now is drag us down into another third world gutter over the 30 to 40 years.
Do you know why we have 1500 Brits losing their jobs every week ? Because British workers work for more money than foreign workers. Industry is begginning to vanish as the world moves towards tertiary take over ( services). All jobs that are being lost (be they british or migrant) are in industry or low paid manufacturing work, because the market for it is so narrow. If you are looking for someone to blame, look no further than Margaret Thatcher - Ironically to blame for our immigration "Crisis"
tommy i have no problem with the british workers pay being higher wages than foreign workers as long as they earn it. the labour goverment is totaly incompetant when it comes to runing the finances of britain.when magret thatcher was in power we had plenty of jobs and room for the people that came to work in britain at that time, we are now full to over flowing.most of the ones coming now are only interested in our bennifits system which is also a total shambles comliments of labour.
A substantial knowledge of Economics, which you clearly don't possess, otherwise you would recognise the importance of immigration. Professor condescending, im glad you don't.
Professor Highbrow, you are in fact correct as first year Macro and Micro is as far as I have gone in relation to gaining "substantial" economic knowledge.
I do agree that immigration will have positive effects on a countries economy, however I am looking at it from a social perspective which doesnt always have the same positive outcome.
Not every problem can be solved by displaying the positive arguments of economic theory, look at what Thatcher did in the 80's. Take a look around.
Speak for yourself. We cannot simply abandon the people of Afghanistan. We cannot abandon the EU - we must change it as a member state as much as possible and repatriate powers for Britain. Just leaving the EU altogether is no solution! Immigration must be controlled, capped even, but we cannot stop it altogether.
As usual, a BNP supporter espouses the kind of irresponsible and back-of-a-napkin policies that would be disastrous for Britain. The BNP must be soundly defeated at the next election.
This is not the format to get into a debate, evidently, but I resent throwaway remarks like irresponsible. My opinion is that Lab have been ultra irresponsible for its own corrupt ends. Conservatives have virtually the same policies.
It is not up to you to bandy around absolutes like "must be soundly defeated", despite a biased press, we still have a semblance of a democracy.
The results of those actions would be disastrous for Britain, and I don't say that flippantly. Aside from the issues you've raised, what are the BNP's policies on the economy, schools and health? I think we'd like to know - but all that your party ever discusses when given a platform is immigration. Lately, the BNP have shamelessly jumped on a bandwagon and cynically abused the situation in Afghanistan for their own political ends.
To discuss and question immigration policy is not racist, and that's a key point in this. Unfortunately, the Labour Party have claimed that it is for the past decade and their record on immigration is a shambles, and so public concern about the issue is 100% justified
But this a great nation because it is tolerant and moderate. The BNP know nothing about these great British values. They have dangerous far-left tendencies (see their economic "policy") and THAT is why I say they must be defeated.
"I think that we all know?" - very leading statement with respect, who are 'we' exactly. The BNP have a full range of policies - obviously this can be viewed by looking at their manifesto, I always tend to do this before making a judgement on a party!.
On the conrary as you know the BNP are given very LITTLE chance to discuss other policies, because the media just jumps on the immigration issue when talking to and about the BNP - the QT saga was just the tip of the iceberg.
Heres some of Labour's achievements in the last 12 years; -Highest education results -1/3 down on crime -Lowest waiting times for NHS -The right to see a cancer specialist in 2 weeks -Sure Start -Highest Child Benefits -Talks with the other EU NATO countries to pull our soldiers out of Afghanistan -Nationalizing the banks -Mertanaty Leave and Pay That is the Britain built by Labour What have the Conservatives achieved in the last 100 years Poll tax, 3 million unemployed and miners strikes
Newlabour1 education dumb down street crime up drugs, gun crime up 180 billion national debt no gold reserves 20000 die every year hospital bugs 2 million asylum seekers 1 million ileagals millions hear and abroad ripping off our bennifits system worst child poverty in europe 25th worst country to live in out of the richest nations 2 ileagal wars 200,ooo iracis dead tax payers bailed out banks
Esp the 2 Mil A/Seekers and 1 Mil Ileagals and the rest of the EU Eastern Europeans and the rest of the world and it's mothers and step cousins and all that crap.
Lowestoftbus 4000 imimgrints aweek coming in. 1500 british workers loosing there jobs every week. binge drinking related crime up such as violent asult up 70% 22% worlds cameras whatching us 3500 new laws to controll us 145 new taxs each child in dept for £26000 the day its born 50% off all prison sentanc no weapons of mass distruction bennifit scroungers on permanent maternity leave tax payers exspence
@NewLabour1 Can't agree enough. Unfortunately the people of this country seem to just want to hate whichever party's in power, but Labour really is the correct answer!
VOTE LABOUR
(Incidently, Tony Blair was one of the best Prime Minister's Britain has ever had)
Blair could quite easily have been a Tory PM, things would have not been very different the last 12yrs if Tories had stayed in power. War in Iraq/Afghanistan, mass immigration from Eastern Europe (good for big business), MPs looting the tax payer, independent Bk of Eng, maybe not minimum wage but its so low....
Why do us brits vote in cycles? Every 10 years it is either tories in power and labour in opposition or labour in power and tories in opposition with lib dem always in third. Anyone else notice this pattern?
Most democracies have an electoral cycle like this. The United States is no different.
And there have been times in our history where this pattern hasn't held true. We had a hung parliament in the 1970's, because the vote was so split, for example. The electoral math is stacked against the Tories (they have to win more seats than they have since the 1930's) - so they may not have the kind of thumping majority enjoyed by Thatcher and Blair at their peak.
Thank God it's nearly all over. They have unashamedly turned this great country into a bankcrupt, multicultural cess pool. Still they have their pensions and houses while the rest of us have to pay it all off. Twats.
Though we probably never imagined at the time, this was a sad day for britain, the start of a major downfall. just to think next year they'll be on the losing end of a landslide against the tories
Don't forget the electoral system in this country is inherently biased towards Labour and against the Conservatives. That in mind, I am expecting a moderate and perfectly workable majority of around 40-60 seats for the Tories. It's the same kind of majority held by Thatcher after her victory in 1979.
The other issue is, the Tories are proposing some fairly radical changes to this country and they are being very blunt about our financial problems - this is bound to scare off some voters.
The Labour party brought Britain to the edge of bankruptcy in 1979 & this current shambles are doing the same. The Children being born today will still be paying the price of Browns "investing". He spent the pension money, sold off the nations gold reserves for a fraction of their value, kept house prices artificially high - all so he could try & convince people he was doing a good job. The bubble had to burst & it has. The sooner this lot have gone the better.
How the hell can gordon brown be blamed for the banks collapsing, after june next year do you expect to wake up and find everything back to normal? Perhaps woolworths would have reopened. If you vote torie you have to find some scissors for the cuts they want to make

@VonMises1990 I agree. He should have introduced a political levy, reformed the house of lords and more. But you cannot blame him entirely, he was very inexperienced at that point.

@ToaJoe how in Gods name can you justify that ?
johnfox3 1 year ago
@johnfox3 Minimum wage, peace in N.I, improved education and health standards, low inflation, etc.
ToaJoe 1 year ago
@ToaJoe the minimum wage did what ?, lost jobs if anything - although to be fair I can see the argument for. Still wasent exacly the most difficult policy to achive, as for NI it was a gradural process that began under the Major government, although I have to admit Blair put alot of effort into the process and did manage to get the two around the table. But under no circumstances will I accept improved Health and Education in proportion to the money spent, cont.
johnfox3 1 year ago
@ToaJoe His education policies failed anyway, youth unemployment rose 40% and most of the schemes he set up was just wastful public sector schemes that kept people in 'training' witch just shadowed the true unemplyment figures. Health is a similer story , Billions ploughed in, which I accept heath standards did improve although not remarkably, and with money the country dident have running a massive strutural deficit that hit hard when recession landed. As for inflation cont.
johnfox3 1 year ago
@ToaJoe That was no miracle, it happened all across the developed world as a response to globalisation and fueled further in this country by outsources manafacturing. Blair tried to please everyone, obsessed with spin, was a complete crook anyway and was not driven by the countries best intrests. He made changes in this country for the worse, trying to please everyone for the sake of popularity.

Labour's unemployment rates are significantly high because of free market economics, whereas the Tory unemployment rates were due to dismantling of industry in the 80's = avoidable.

conseratives left 40billion in the bank when blair took over.they also brought in free markert trade and gave every brit the right to buy there own house and sorted the apalling state of the country after yet another labour goverment mess.labour did all they could to keep the working man down.the true figure under labour is nearer 7.5 million not inclueding asylum seekers not including 2million asylum seekers and one million ilegals
thedavewalkershow 2 years ago
The reason Unemployment is high :
1.) A recession, caused by Banks not being able to pay back money after extremely ill-judged lending. - Therefore companies can't afford to pay staff, and are having to make redundancies, subsequently : a lack of available work for the already unemployed.
2.) The auctioning off of British Manufacturing companies, to foreign companies/ investors.( In the long run, this will benefit employment, as costs become lower- demand rises and more workers are needed.)
tommyisaledge 2 years ago
tommy banks helped to cause the recession through pure greed, and we all jumped on the wagon for a free ride 11 years ago.the lack of work for our people is why we need to curb immigration.british manufacturers are down to the bone the only way they can cut there costs is to move abroad where the labour market is cheaper which we dont want, this will meen even less jobs for our people, when more workers are needed there are 10 million already out of work in britain to choose from.

You won't be critical of Immigrants in 30-40 years, when they're generating the majority of your GDP, paying your pension, and solving our ageing population crisis. ( not to mention skills shortages ) - So embracing immigration, rather than negating it in such an ignorant manner would be advisable.
tommyisaledge 2 years ago
tommy we have 1500 brits looseing there jods every week and 4000 immigrants comeing in every week.4mill on bennifits,2.7mill no the dole,2miill asylumseekers,1mill ileagals, atleast i mill hidden buy labour on other skeems, approximately 10 million not working plus 1 mill eastern europeans and half a million jobs between them.the only thing immigration can do for us now is drag us down into another third world gutter over the 30 to 40 years.
thedavewalkershow 2 years ago
Do you know why we have 1500 Brits losing their jobs every week ? Because British workers work for more money than foreign workers. Industry is begginning to vanish as the world moves towards tertiary take over ( services). All jobs that are being lost (be they british or migrant) are in industry or low paid manufacturing work, because the market for it is so narrow. If you are looking for someone to blame, look no further than Margaret Thatcher - Ironically to blame for our immigration "Crisis"
tommyisaledge 2 years ago
tommy i have no problem with the british workers pay being higher wages than foreign workers as long as they earn it. the labour goverment is totaly incompetant when it comes to runing the finances of britain.when magret thatcher was in power we had plenty of jobs and room for the people that came to work in britain at that time, we are now full to over flowing.most of the ones coming now are only interested in our bennifits system which is also a total shambles comliments of labour.

tommyisaledge 2 years ago

The BNP must be soundly defeated at the next election.

vidinf4eice 2 years ago
The results of those actions would be disastrous for Britain, and I don't say that flippantly. Aside from the issues you've raised, what are the BNP's policies on the economy, schools and health? I think we'd like to know - but all that your party ever discusses when given a platform is immigration. Lately, the BNP have shamelessly jumped on a bandwagon and cynically abused the situation in Afghanistan for their own political ends.
UnitedBritannia 2 years ago
To discuss and question immigration policy is not racist, and that's a key point in this. Unfortunately, the Labour Party have claimed that it is for the past decade and their record on immigration is a shambles, and so public concern about the issue is 100% justified
But this a great nation because it is tolerant and moderate. The BNP know nothing about these great British values. They have dangerous far-left tendencies (see their economic "policy") and THAT is why I say they must be defeated.
UnitedBritannia 2 years ago
"I think that we all know?" - very leading statement with respect, who are 'we' exactly. The BNP have a full range of policies - obviously this can be viewed by looking at their manifesto, I always tend to do this before making a judgement on a party!.
On the conrary as you know the BNP are given very LITTLE chance to discuss other policies, because the media just jumps on the immigration issue when talking to and about the BNP - the QT saga was just the tip of the iceberg.

How bad will the Tories paste Labour in the 2010 election? What will the seat counts be?
