  • I have a silicon one at home and when I lick the spatula, it tastes really really bad, like bitter chemical stuff. Even after washing it it tastes bad. So I don't use it any more for fear of it tainting my food with bad taste. :( dont ask me why i lick my spatulas.

  • @presbarkeep

    Thanks for sharing! =]

  • u made this video 2 days before my b'day

  • Are the rubber ones the same as those silicone ones? I know this may be a silly question for the pro's but I'm a newbie to the cooking world. Thanks. =)

  • @sweetgem123

    Thanks for your question.

I think the silicone ones are newer and might be better. The will probably be replacing the rubber ones. This rubber one in my video is over 10 years old, so that is proof they last awhile, and are good too. Hope this helps. =]

  • I guess I'll try whatever I find first, be it the rubber or silicone one. Thanks for your feedback! =)

  • mmmmmm spatula

  • @Frankenpalin

    Haha!

  • omg!!! I never thought about that thx for that info !!

  • i just call it a plastic scraper =D its very usefull in baking. its also very easy to scrape for example cream off a bowl.

  • I never used a rubber spatula for cooking. I use it to scrape something like meringue from a bowl to get all of the meringue. I hate it when people use a spoon, things like meringue stick to spoons like glue

  • What specific brand type do you recommend?

  • Rubber Made has a really nice high heat spatula.

  • i never in mylife think id see a vid about spatullas thanx for changing my day :)

  • Oh crap...now that I think about it, our plastic spatula is looking a little melty...

  • Time to throw that thing away!

  • wow that is a lot of rubber

  • This is why you should use a temp spatula.

  • dude you are rigth

  • Eeew, the rubber!

  • Pretty nasty!

  • Never really thought about the cheap ones melting in my cookin!! EEWW thanks for sharing this!!

  • You're welcome. I use to hate seeing the cheap ones used in the restaurants!
