I have a silicon one at home and when I lick the spatula, it tastes really really bad, like bitter chemical stuff. Even after washing it it tastes bad. So I don't use it any more for fear of it tainting my food with bad taste. :( dont ask me why i lick my spatulas.
Are the rubber ones the same as those silicone ones? I know this may be a silly question for the pro's but I'm a newbie to the cooking world. Thanks. =)
I think the silicone ones are newer and might be better. The will probably be replacing the rubber ones. This rubber one in my video is over 10 years old, so that is proof they last awhile, and are good too. Hope this helps. =]
I never used a rubber spatula for cooking. I use it to scrape something like meringue from a bowl to get all of the meringue. I hate it when people use a spoon, things like meringue stick to spoons like glue
