  • hamburglar looked so fucked up!

  • @Cuteblondie1972 , I always thought he looked goofy and hilarious!! To me, the later hamburgler looks more like the pillsbury doughboy with buck teeth.

  • I liked this hamburgler much better than the revised one

  • @mikehlebik , I do too because he was funnier looking, hilarious and the original.

  • As a 6 year old kid, I was terrified by the Hambergler and his incessant babbling. I swore he came out at night next to my bed in the dark....I would lay motionless, staring into the dark and could see his pointy hat slowwwwly raise up from the side of my bed.....

I had to sleep with the light on. Thanks, McDonalds for scaring little kids with this thing!!

  • Hamburgler and American vehicle insurance companies have alot in common. Burgle burgle Bilderburgle

  • @DOCTORDANification ahhahahahahah awesome

  • so the hamburgler can afford to build an entire carnival to trick people into giving him cheeseburgers but he cant afford to just BUY a cheeseburger?

  • Wow. I had no idea how much Hamburgler had changed. He just sort of mumbled all the time! I forgot about some of the other characters like Captain Crook. Thanks for posting!!

  • Was that "D'oh!" in the original commercial? It sound suspiciously like Homer Simpson.

  • All these goofball charcters are aliens from outer space.

  • Aww, those commercials with all the McDonald's characters were alot better. I remember when they had the Fry kids, always stealing the fries and the Happy Meal characters singing, "No one can do it, like McDonald's can". Hehee Now, Ronald McDonald is all alone. Too bad they don't put effort into kid's commercials like they used to.

  • @boofdfast If they brought back McDonaldLand, they would probably be sued back to the stone age by the FDA, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, Science In The Public Interest, and dozens of other NGOs.

  • @MrStephenRGilman True... that's the sad reality of political correctness in today's society. lol

  • hamburgler was a real scamp

  • were are all those people now

  • I remember Hamburgular, Mayor McCheese, the McFry guys, What was the Pirate? and didn't they have a McNuggets character?

  • The pirate is Captain Crook who attempted to pillage Filet O Fish Sandwiches like Hamburglar tries to steal hamburgers. The McNugget Buddies didn't come until the 80's.

  • @Rtkat3 That was until Captain Crook realized he could get all the Filet O Fish sandwiches he wanted by waiting til the end of the day when the McDonald's staff throws out the many that go unsold. Who actually eats the Filet O Fish?!?!

  • @MrStephenRGilman I haven't even seen a commercial on here where Captain Crook tries to steal all the Filet O Fish Sandwiches. Though a Making of a McDonaldland commercial showed the production of a commercial where Captain Crook collaborated with Hamburglar to make the other characters think that McDonalds was sold out so that the two of them can have the hamburgers and Filet O Fish sandwiches for themselves.

  • I remember this one from my youth... scary.

  • There was also a 60 second version of this same commercial.

In the longer version, between the entrance and the merry-go-round, there's one of those carnival games where you hit a hammer and try to ring a bell. Ronald tried it and only got the weight about a third of the way up. But then Grimace accidentally stepped on it as they walked off, and the weight flew up to the bell, knocking it off the hook! The carousel sequence was longer, with Grimace spinning and a kaleidoscopic Ronald view.

  • piglet: come to stitch's carnival lets go

    stitch:grubble grubble breakfast

  • I was having a hard time finding the original hamburgler here. The one from the 80s was too cutesy.

It's all pretty surreal and bent, actually, lol.

There was a hilarious one I remember, where there was a spaceship that landed or something... and hamburglar goes 'ROPPLE ROOOOOPLE!' I wish I could find that one, it was hilarious.

  • @klaptongroovemaster yeah, i think they changed him because the original was to much like a troll??? or something, but i liked the original!!!

  • tha'll be 1 mcdonalds hambuger to get in. LOL

  • hamburglar was like a crack head back then r something XD

  • Don't ride the carousel!

  • its interesting that the company did'nt take the idea of hamburglers carnival, and use it as playland at some of there locations. such as Orlando FL.

  • Good old captain crook. I am 35 and a college professor but I miss him. Oh well, a little cookiness never hurt

  • :'( :( I miss that Hamburglar. I think they should bring him back, or say that he's the "dad" of the newer younger looking one.

  • Does anyone remember another amusement-park, Mcdonalds commercial; where they rode the roller-coaster & went in the spooky house?

That made me wanna always go to amusement-parks!

  • I could picture Hamburgular's carnival outside The World's Largest McDonald's in Orlando, Florida!

  • Hamburglar talks weird & looks weird.

  • He talks like lil Chany if you ask me

  • That's right, they changed the Hamburgler, making him cuter and more childlike. Take me away to McDonaldland!

  • "He thought you'd never pay!" Ha Ha

  • The Grimace was a villain who stole all the shakes. He eventually became friends with Ronald. The Hamburgler stole the Hamburgers.

  • Good ol' Grimace,a purple...blob,why did they get rid of him? The original Hamburgler and the old Sea Captain, wow, I guess the little French Fry Guys came a little later.

  • That's the first Hamburgler I remember. Man, he's unpleasant!

  • WOW Cool....

    I vaguely remember this commercial.
