I totally agree with fastballonly. I toured a slaughter plant for a college class. I thought I would be be disgusted, but I was actually amazed to see all the steps the plant did to ensure safe and humane handling of the animals. In fact they have specific people who commit their entire working days ensuring that the cattle are slaughtered in a painless and respectable manner. Please don't loose all faith in the entire meat industry because of one horrible horrible plant.
We have to eat other species to survive. So, quitting eating steak won't get us anywhere. It's okay to eat them. The important thing is to kill them with compassion. Do it as painlessly as possible. There's no need to make them suffer like that.

It provides an important part of our diet. My dad is considering raising his own cows to butcher. 4) I didnt choose the chimpanzee (though closer to us than gorillas) because they are omnivores (though meat only account for about 5% of their diet) and in my replica to you I needed an animal which: a) is a herbivore; b) though it is a herbivore it doesnt have 3 stomachs (as you said); c) is our close relative; d) can obtain all the protein needed for a bulk body despite eating only low protein food (as you consider all the veggie).

1) Cattle are ruminants that have ONE stomach (not 3 stomachs as you say) with FOUR compartments (again not 3). They are the rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum. That demonstrates youre a semidoct (in my native language this is a person who has superficial and little knowledge but think they are well-educated which is not the case)

The mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is a powerful and very robust creature. Adult males reach in height just about us (1.7-1.95m) but they weigh twice (205-250kg). Strange enough, gorillas are herbivores no meat what about the proteins needed to build such a strong body? However, dont trust me, go fight with a gorilla and see for yourself as you, a meat eater (with "good" protein source), must have stronger muscles than a veggie (with poor protein source)

Humans and animals have a nervous system. Part of this function serves to induce pain when we injure ourselves. This reminds us all to look after our bodies because the prime directive in life is self presevation.
This is what produces fear and hence the reasons cows and sheep walk away from us when we approach.
Even lions will run from wilderbeast protecting their young.
Animals fear and feel pain just as we do.

This was a knee jerk reaction. The Humane Society acts underhanded and the USDA recalls the beef to make them look like they are protecting us. THERE IS NO BAD MEAT REPORTED ANYWHERE and the cost after factoring comingled meat will be higher than Hurrican Katrina. The meat industry will be crippled and the scape goat is the Hallmark/Westland plant. I wish someone in congress would seek the real truth! On any given day at any food producing plant a class 2 recall could happen.

I totally agree with fastballonly. I toured a slaughter plant for a college class. I thought I would be be disgusted, but I was actually amazed to see all the steps the plant did to ensure safe and humane handling of the animals. In fact they have specific people who commit their entire working days ensuring that the cattle are slaughtered in a painless and respectable manner. Please don't loose all faith in the entire meat industry because of one horrible horrible plant.

We have to eat other species to survive. So, quitting eating steak won't get us anywhere. It's okay to eat them. The important thing is to kill them with compassion. Do it as painlessly as possible. There's no need to make them suffer like that.
And as we eat the cow meat, let us pray and than them, for THEY DIE TODAY FOR OUR TOMORROW.

I actually don't think that what you said warranted two thumbs down. It's true that we've evolved, or were created-whichever you believe, with the need to eat animals. It provides an important part of our diet. My dad is considering raising his own cows to butcher. As much as that disgusts me, I know that his cows would have a much, much better life than those raised in factories like these.

I raise slaughter animals myself and they're all so damned spoiled they follow you around like puppies.
