  • Hi simonkaszefko1980,

Glad you understand and accept what we're about - and thank you for your encouraging comments and kind remarks.

We'd be obliged if you'd keep an eye on the place for us.

    Cheers, JT

  • keep up the gd work... thought u were scrapping when you in there ...SORRY but had to check!! shouldn't have made ur comment about kevin keegan!! keep up the good work

  • LIKE THIS IF YOU THINK THE BRADFORD COUNCILLORS NEEDS A GOOD KICK IN THE ASSES!!!

  • I would seriously urge the good citizens of Bradford to look up the "charity" Common Purpose. You may ask "why would a charity have any connection" ? Well members of this charity are at this very time working for Bradford Met & Yorkshire Forward. Please read up on this charity then draw your own conclusions. I promise you one thing, this farce is nothing to do with misjudgement. I have a vid on my channel about the charity to save time searching.

  • Isn't it ironic that Yorkshire Forward (Backward), the ones who did so much damage to the Odeon by neglect and failing in their duty to the public are now being disbanded by the very same political party that Kris Hopkins is an MP of?

Jan Anderson has been stabbed in the back by her old colleague.

The dole queue is that way Jan :-)

As for Maud, I won't waste any more keyboard strokes on the hatchet-faced old bitch.

Good riddance. Go and ruin someone else's city.

  • Bradford always seems to destroy everything that is good, watching this video and seeing pics of Bradford Odeon made me very sad, it was and can be the best looking cinema in the country, and now more then ever they should save it as Bradford now is a City of FILM,, I have so many good memories there, bring Bradford ODEON back....

  • That damned woman gets paid a good salary and is part of a nice little career club. She represents no one and nothing.

  • great video and a good example what liars councillors and developers are like, especially in bradford. save this great building if you live in bradford get involved n stop yorkshire forward demolishing this iconic bulding.

  • That just about sums it up.

So, let's not get mad; let's get even.

Please object [via the BORG website for instructions], then get your friends and relatives, and their friends etc to help, too.

We have about a month to make our voices heard.

    Thanks.

  • Good luck with the campaign!

How could anyone not see what a beautiful place this could be with some work!

so much history and detail that all needs to be seen again and appreciated!

  • Thank you for your kind comments. If you haven't already done so, we could use your objection.

If you go to the BORG website, they'll give you details. And get as many of your friends and relations to object, too!

  • There are warnings on the outside of the building about asbestos! Lies :O just to stop others going in and seeing that it isn't actually beyond repair i guess

  • i think the odeon shud stay, we all need 2 stick by it, we need 2 keep it standing for bradford, it is a listed buildin i remember goin inside it an watchin films dnt let them take our child heritage away from bradford its staying put they need keep all the old furniture in it an reopen it as a museum or as a picture house an bingo hall agen

  • this building needs to be preserved and to be fully functioning as cinema and concert hall etc.. If we could save it .. it could help save the city centre Bradford

  • "...if there is any member in this room or any Bradford citizen who thinks i sought to mislead them I will apologise"

Well, firstly, there was someone who said that and she didn't apologise and secondly, why would she apologise if she hadn't done anything wrong?!

  • All the very best in your struggle to save this historic building. We lost our fantastic 1936 ODEON 'picture palace', in 2007 (St.Austell, Cornwall), in the name of town centre regeneration, victim of clueless, uncarring councilers and greedy developers. Even though Unlike the Bradford ODEON, ours was not closed and 'derilict', but an open and thriving cinema that had been entertining the people of the town for over 71 years, the owner was even threatened with compulsary purchase order.

  • Just imagine the place restored with another organ put in place ...

Brilliant video and all the best on your drive to keep it standing !

  • Maud Marshall is a slag. Nice video John. POWER TO THE PEOPLE RIGHT ON!

    Myke Reece Jones x

  • Good luck with the campaign, good thing to do and the odoen still looks in good shape and should be kept. (Y)

  • keep at it dad!!

the views are rising :D x

  • I object to BCR not listening to what the people of Bradford want. I object to Maud Marshall not retracting her comments about the Odeon being nothing but a decrepid decaying shell. It is proved in the above film and from pictures taken that the Odeon is far from that. It holds original features intact, lots of memories and ghosts that we the people of Bradford want to keep safe. Listen to us.

  • Good stuff. Petition signed.

  • Keep the Faith, Borg!

  • Excellant film guys i hope you save this place

  • brilliant film and an amazing building.

Here's hoping that BORG gets its way and that the bradford odeon is saved and not replaced with some soulless office block. Far too many buildings like this are being lost to developers all over the country. And what the hell's a "fairly serious engeneer"? Perhaps Maud has had some work done by a "fairly serious brain surgeon" and had all her common sence removed?... just a shell. the place is amazing

  • Fantastic video.

Having been inside the odeon myself and extensively viewed it, i can say that its in brilliant condition. I did not break in either before anyone asks, i just used my logic.

I hope this building gets saved for not only bradford, but the entire of west yorkshire.

If the moneys still on the table then i see no reason why borg can't have ownership.

  • best odeon video yet!

    very nice work.

if 'bradfordski' is from bradford, then shame on you for being such a total douche.

  • Fairly serious engineers? ROTFL wtf?

It's so so bizzare that they left so much stuff when they vacated the premises. I find it slightly creepy, all the equipment etc.

Good to see another bradfordian taking the time to check out the current interior. Sure it's a bit run down but what do you expect after 9 years. How sad that it's been so long yet still nothing has been done to restore this site.

  • Great film. Good luck with your campaign

  • I agree that this Bradfordski guy may be a plant from the T&A or Bradford Centre Regeneration cos his view that OC has been emotional and sentimental with him sounds exactly like what either has said about any Odeon supporter. Bradfordski is the classic internet troll stumbling around forums trying to provoke an adverse reaction. He clearly couldn't give a toss if the Odeon stays or goes, so don't waste anymore time reasoning with him.

Just be happy he boosted your viewing tally by one eh?

  • Yes, I unfortunately had to put a stop to the guy using this film as an excuse to decry not only the Odeon, but also the views of the supporters and achievements of BORG.

Bradfordski clearly has an axe to grind - so he (or she) can use some other forum apart from this film to do so, such as the R&A Committee meeting when the Odeon's fate will be sealed.

  • The former Odeon might not have been decrepit and derelict in 2004 but it is now! Trespasser!

  • As stated in the film, how can a member of the public trespass inside a publicly owned asset?

The interior was fine and dandy in 2004 by the way - the only area that could be referred to as "decrepit" is the area since affected by water ingress thanks to the cut pipes that Yorkshire Forward refuse to fix and Bradford Council refuse to enforce any remedial action.

  • On your definition of trespass it's fine to enter a publicly owned asset is it ? (Which this isn't.) NHS operating theatre? Ministry of Defence establishment? Council House in Holmewood? Don't spoil your well-intentioned cause with unfounded remarks.

I agree that saving the former Odeon has some merit - but only if a viable use could be found. Otherwise, what's the point?

  • Ah, I see I'll have to try again. As noted in the film, Yorkshire Forward, using public money, bought the Odeon "...for the people of Bradford..."

As I'm from Bradford they clearly bought it for me [as well as everyone else who lives here].

So how can I trespass onto property I already own?

[And I think the law of trespass may not apply here, but I'll leave that up to the lawyers.]

Hope that clarifies matters, and thanks for watching the film.

  • So it belongs to YOU and the people of Bradford? And YOU can't trespass on YOUR property. Which YOU own. Don't be daft! Why don't YOU and the other "owners" openly go in there and start the restoration? I guess YOU and the other owners don't wan't to because YOU can't. Because YOU don't own the building and are not in control of the situation. This isn't about whether YOU own the building. Clearly YOU don't. There is no merit in saving a building with no viable future.

  • Maybe if the thousands of Odeon supporters were originally given the option of either ploughing our contribution directly towards the restoration of the Odeon instead of coughing up for the salaries of the many useless tossers in charge of Bradford's regeneration over the last 6 years (or their consultations, trips to Cannes etc), we'd have had "control of the situation"

I suspect that "bradfordski" is one of the following:

    Maud Marshall

    Perry Austin-Clarke (T&A editor)

    Kris Hopkins

  • Well, there's supposedly £1b being spent on Bradford and so far all i've seen is a mound of dirt and a repaved street.

If the people with all this money would kindly get off their fat arses and do something they might be able to put the money to good use by restoring the Odeon building!
